What is worth choosing
Choosing a veterinary hospital is a highly personal decision, and the experiences of other local pet owners can be a powerful guide. McMinnville Veterinary Hospital has received a wide range of feedback, showcasing different aspects of their service. The diverse reviews highlight the importance of assessing what matters most to you in a veterinary partner.
One reviewer's experience perfectly encapsulates the positive, caring environment that many have found at the clinic. This individual shared a story about their little boy, a pet who received comprehensive dental care. The review praises the "fantastic people" and highlights a successful outcome: four less teeth, clean teeth, and "fantastic breath." The detail about the pet "flirting with the team" speaks volumes about the gentle and reassuring way the staff interacts with their patients. This kind of personal, positive experience is a core reason why many feel confident and comfortable entrusting their pets to the care of McMinnville Veterinary Hospital. The fact that the pet was calm and happy during what could have been a stressful procedure is a testament to the staff's skill and temperament.
On the other hand, a different perspective from another reviewer raises concerns about the clinic's customer service and handling of animals. This feedback described staff as "rude" and "condescending," expressing a feeling that the focus was on sales rather than compassionate care. The reviewer detailed an alarming incident involving their puppy, noting a lack of compassion during a needle injection and an employee dragging the terrified puppy by a choker leash. This type of experience is deeply distressing for a pet owner and highlights a severe breakdown in trust and professional conduct. The absence of an apology or a sense of concern from the staff, who simply stated the employee was "more of a cat lady," is particularly troubling.
In weighing these contrasting viewpoints, it is clear that McMinnville Veterinary Hospital offers a comprehensive set of services and can provide excellent outcomes, as seen in the dental care review. However, the negative feedback points to potential inconsistencies in staff conduct and communication that are important for prospective clients to consider. For a pet owner, the emotional well-being and gentle handling of their animal is often as important as the medical treatment itself. While the clinic provides a broad range of veterinary care and modern facilities, a new client might want to pay close attention to the interactions with the staff to ensure the experience aligns with their expectations for compassionate care. The hospital's stated goals of excellent service and compassionate care are strong, but as with any service provider, individual experiences may vary.

August 07 · Jenn ThomasI could write a novel about the rude, condescending people here. They only seem to care about selling puppy classes. They have no compassion for animals as displayed by the way they jam needles into the dogs with no attempts to distract or comfort them. The last straw was how a gal there dragged my 5 month old, tiny puppy on a choker leash while he screamed in terror.I had to yell at her to stop. Nobody cared or apologized.I was told she felt bad and was more of a cat lady.
April 11 · John AdkinsonNot 5 Stars! I booked an exam for both my cats dropped them off (because I was not allowed in the exam room). We adopted our 9 year old cat, that was abused as a kitten. He has severe anxiety. There was a power outage in McMinnville, the vet clinic tried to keep both my cats overnight because they “couldn’t process payment due to power outage” I offered cash, Venmo, Zelle etc. They refused and held my cats. Luckily the power turned back on right before their office closed and I got both my cats back that day. When I finally got my cats after multiple hours, my cats eye was covered in topical flea treatment that they applied incorrectly(to my abused cat) 😭This veterinary clinic is a JOKE!
February 02 · Sarah HelgersonAvoid this establishment at all costs. Your pets are not safe here. One Vet is is wonderful. My dog sent in for a surgery last year, when I picked him up, a learned the didn't even touch what they were supposed to do. Yet I was charged for it. The staff leaves for good reason. I have found another animal hospital I can trust. I think you should all do the same. The rumors are true what are spread about this "hospital".
October 16 · Michelle DaquilantoThis place gets a ZERO. I brought my 6 yr old dog in because he had been vomiting for several days and refusing all food & treats. They were more concerned about selling us flea meds than actually taking care of our beloved family member. He really needed to be given IV fluids and antibiotics but they refused. They gave him a shot of fluids and anti vomit meds and sent him home. That was on a Friday afternoon and he died the following Monday morning. I will NOT be recommending this place.I had tried to get him into emergency vet in Salem Sunday night, but they were so booked up they couldn’t get him in right away. They told us he would need to be hospitalized (IV fluids & antibiotics). However they would only be able to start it then would have to send him back to regular vet office because they closed at 8am (we were there at 11:30pm until 1:30am and he still hadn’t been taken inside). He was already too gone by that point. He died in my arms before we could take him in later that morning.
