We took my dog here for general check up. They were great.My dog started getting sick and they got her scheduled for the following day. Due to increased concern for our dog we took her to the vet hospital and then followed up again at Midwest. Her health started to decline so she had some test done. When I received the call about her results the staff was very caring and compassionate, explained everything to me and what the possible causes for the tests mean. They took many phone calls from my husband and answered all of his questions. We had to make the decision to put our dog down. During the appointment for this all the staff was so caring and kind to us and our dog. Handled everything so wonderfully and took such great care of our dog even after she had passed away. Dr. West even rechecked all of her labs to make confirm with us we were making the right decision for our dog. Everyone here showed us so much compassion.A week later we received a card signed by everyone in the office with condolences on the loss of our dog. Everyone wrote nice things about our dog and how great of a dog she was.Thank you everyone here for such great care of our fur baby!
Mar 26, 2025 · Samantha WaltersZero stars. I wouldn't bring a hamster here. Said my cat needed a mass removed. Gave me the price. Saved up and scheduled the surgery in a couple of months. She said he had to be checked again. Which is more money. Said prices changed for surgery that the mass "seemed" larger . It wasn't. Said it would be another $250. My cat wasn't doing well, so I agreed. Brought him in a couple of days later for surgery. Dropped him off. The Dr. (Kristin) called an hour later, saying she didn't feel comfortable doing the surgery without doing more tests (more money) . My cat was going to die without this surgery. She said she didn't want to be responsible for his death. He was going to die either in surgery or slowly without it. This was his last chance. There wasn't enough time to bring him anywhere else.I brought him home heartbroken. The next day, they called asking how his surgery went? Thank you for digging it in.A couple of weeks later, he passed away. Thank you for not even giving him a chance.Update reply to company response: My months may be off, but I remember it did take me time to save the money for treatment. Sorry, that is something you dont seem to understand. Not everyone has money like that in their back pocket. Never declined any treatment except for the last visit when she said she wanted to do a test before surgery, but if not, she still would do surgery, hence why you had me sign the paper for it. One of the attendants said Dr. West said that as long as i understood that he might not make it out of surgery. I did. If I could afford to do a bunch of tests, i would have. The cost of surgery alone was a lot, but it was my hope it would save him. She agreed to do surgery, then the day of,called and said what I already explained above. Then, like i said, the office called to ask how he was after surgery, then a week later got a postcard, saying it was time for a checkup. To accuse me of negligence to a family member to us , my sons best friend, my best friend, and the love we had is not only insensitive, it is incredibly inappropriate and unnecessary. My time was spent giving the best care and as much love as possible to him in his final days.( "You cannot have it both ways in that you want the highest quality care and result but you decline all treatments, diagnostics and surgery that might have achieved the desired outcome." )False statement as well as high quality care should be there no matter what treatment or non treatment a client does. If you actually read carefully. I never said I blame Dr west for his death. I simply am pointing out the lack of compassion and empathy. Which you just confirmed in your response.I'm not sure who responded, but your reply simply shows your lack of maturity. As an owner, I would have reached out to me personally. I could have reached out too, but considering how I felt that there was no compassion when I brought him in previously and when I had to come pick him back up in tears. I didn't get the impression at all that Dr. West is this great caring person like you describe. They brought my cat out to the car and that was that. Even when she hung up the phone, no im sorry, no nothing. So I stand by my review. Your response speaks for itself. Congrats on putting someone down who lost a dear family member. Shows real class. 👍
Jun 24, 2024 · Cece Catalaya0 stars if I could. My cat was diagnosed with diabetes and we followed what the “doctor” wanted us to do. We had our 8 pound cat so she says on 8 units of insulin at one point since “he can have up to 8 units due to 1 unit per pound”. He’s currently on 2 units prescribed by a new doctor and doing well so? But we were checking his glucose every other day as said by her, relayed the information (me calling she never checked in on us) even though it takes time for call backs from her, changed the dose every other day like she said and eventually our cat was basically overdosing on insulin and had a seizure on a day where the number was high and as stated by the doctor to increase the insulin and go one or two below that if we need to? Like how am I suppose to know if he needs two units less let alone in such a small timeline? The new vet stated glucose curves should not be done at home. He was admitted to an emergency vet and we were told he needed to not have insulin for 24 hours to let it come out his body because of how much he had. We are now starting brand new with everything for him at another place who specialize in his diabetes due to the doctors ignorance. He’s on 2 units and being checked weekly for curves and has a sensor to track everything so we don’t have todo the glucose prick tests ourselves. All the information this doctor told us was mostly inaccurate and uneducated. Dr. Davis does not need to be treating diabetic animals.
Mar 24, 2025 · Kayla WilesThe doctor was ok. I don't think she knows that I call in 2 or 3 time's trying to get our dog in. The lady that answered the phone set the appointment up for 6 day's later. They called me a day early and said if I could get her in by 11:30 they could get her in. Well it was to late I had to put her down and she had plenty of life left. In her. I don't blame the d.octor but the staff are not caring. When it took her in there was not a client to be seen but they were so busy 6 staff members at front desk play with their phones. Not everyone can afford the Big Hospital's. They care so much for your pets if you have big bucks in your pockets. I just pray to God that he and my little lily for give me. For not having money to go to that big hospital. I miss her more and more everyday.
Aug 05, 2024 · Tim RidenourI have a very different opinion of Dr Mandel after this morning, Jan 31, 2022.However, the vet tech was very professional informing me of his decision to not allow me in the building due to Covid concerns. I was very upset, yet she remained apologetic and understanding.He wouldn’t allow me in to discuss something as serious as eye surgery!!! I said I am triple vaxed and explained that he allowed me to be with my Golden at other visits over the last 2 years. What’s changed?My Golden is 10 yrs old, a rescue, and very skittish and he knows that. She was traumatized and I’ve worked so hard to socialize her and I would not put her in a traumatic situation.He let me in with her at the height of the pandemic but would not allow in today to discuss surgery? Wow!!!Then I went across the street to Joey’s for breakfast UNMASKED.I was a great client for over 15 years and was willing to pay outrageous prices for all 3 of my Golden’s and several cats on a fixed social insecurity income. I like that he does titre testing instead of over vaccinating pets, so that is why I stayed with him.I will move on. “Things happen for a reason” is my mantra.
