Dr Santora has been caring for our 3 felines for several years now. She is extremely caring, gentle and very thorough with them. She really listens to our concerns.Dr Santora has been seeing our oldest, Felafel, quite a bit lately. First, a diagnosis of IBS and arthritis, then on a challenging journey to find the best treatments for a difficult-to-handle, stressed kitty. I am so impressed with the effort, care and compassion that Dr Santora has exhibited! Kudos to the vet techs as well, who are also kind and patient!Last but not least, a shout out to the office staff, who are clearly juggling a heavy work load but are very professional and understanding when I call again and again!Thanks a million to all at New Hyde, especially from Felafel, Gwendolyn, and Gizmo Bean.

Dr. Santora has been taking care of our fur baby for many years now and I can honestly say there is nobody better. Dr. Santora is amazing with Lovey and is always thorough and compassionate. We trust Dr. Santora 100% and appreciate that she is conservative in treatment when appropriate but also aggressive when need be, as when Lovey was recently diagnosed with a liver lesion. Dr. Santora always takes the time to explain things and shows patience and compassion to Lovey, and us. The staff is great, (Katie and KiKi, thank you for always being so kind), and Lovey actually loves going to her appointments. We are so grateful for the wonderful care Lovey receives and are so happy to have found Dr. Santora.

I just returned from my second visit to NHPAH in less than a week! Last Saturday (7/23), our 11 month old adopted stray kitten had to be checked out for vomiting and loss of appetite. Dr. Lynn Santora immediately diagnosed Pocket's problem as a linear bowel obstruction and referred us for surgery. She helped to save his little life! Today (7/27) we brought one of our other year old adopted strays for a well checkup. She was very concerned about how Pocket was doing. We showed her some pictures of him recovering from surgery and she was happy to have been able to help us. She is a very caring and kind vet. The rest of the staff is great as well. I would recommend NHPAH to anyone and they have multiple locations too!

I have to say the vets have always been nice here, but these receptionists are some of the rudest people I have encountered. There is not much kindness or understanding to them. It is hard to stay at an establishment when the first people you speak to have attitudes.The fact that we had an emergency situation and were told to go somewhere else without even asking the vet if they were willing to see our dog before the end of the day was pretty upsetting to me. All they had to say was "go to an emergency vet." Usually you want your pet to see their own vet, not someone random. The best they could do was fit my dog in 5 days later ( with an emergency situation) No wiggle room and I had to push the receptionist to even put her on a cancellation list for an appointment.So yes, we are most definitely switching clinics and I advise others to do so as well.***update to their responseThis is not a first time experience with your hospital being extremely rude and not showing kindness when not being able to make an appointment, not even a " I'm sorry she is not feeling well, I am so sorry we can't fit her in, or have a nice day ". We called your sister clinic and they were more than happy to fit her in the next day... vs 5 days later.And as the receptionist said there one more appointment for the day booked. It was not heavily packed. The receptionist could have at least asked the vet if they were willing to fit her in by end of day Instead she was not even willing to ask. Basically anything I asked the receptionist was rude.Like I said, we just will not be returning and will be advising others to not use this hospital as well. Instead we will be going to an animal hospital that has the ability to fit in last minute visits.
