January 05 · Marion Thomas (BeaBea)STEER CLEAR IF YOUR PET HAS A CHRONIC CONDITION!!Our dog has terrible, life altering, allergies. And we have been seeing this vet since we adopted her (since this is the vet the shelter used). Most of their staff are respectful and we liked that- plus they had an existing patient/doctor relationship. So we stayed. Over the last year, we have spent a ton at this office (more than I’ve paid for my entire human family’s medical care COMBINED). Every couple months we were back for ear infections and discomfort caused directly by her allergies. What we’ve been through is nothing short of malpractice because they have made the same mistake TWICE in less than a year. The first time was at the end of July and the other was yesterday. We were supposed to be on a higher dose of medication but both times they tried to give her a lower dose than she was on before (in July, they tried to take her from 16 mg a day to an average of 11.73 mg a day. And yesterday, from 16 mg a day to an average of 14.4 mg a day). This vet has been seeing my dog consistently for a year but seems to know nothing about her or her medical history (although, one of their amazing vet techs remembers her every time!). The vet is not properly looking in her chart before prescribing and filling meds. Their negligence has cost my dog her comfort and my wallet thousands. It’s negatively impacting her quality of life. Don’t get me wrong, I understand caring for an animal can be costly. And spending the amounts we’ve been charged would be totally worth it if we had some sort of progress but my dog is struggling and they’ve been sitting by idly watching and charging us an arm and a leg while doing it.This situation has pushed us in the direction of finding a primary vet who can appropriately address the condition and who has the same goal in common: helping us IMPROVE her quality of life. This would likely be an okay vet for yearly checkups and testing but nothing outside of that.
April 30 · Amber KaakeI cannot recommend Orion oaks enough! Everytime someone asks me for a vet recommendation this will be the place I recommend. Dr Milam is amazing and truly cares for animals. One of my doggos gets very anxious at the vet and often leaves a fresh fecal sample on the floor, this office is the only office I've been to that does not make me feel embarrassed or try to push medications to calm her down before bringing her in.I rescue all my doggos and the staff and Dr here are so patient and kind when dealing with any type of animal that has suffered abuse or neglect that makes them fear humans.Last year my male pit Diesel had to be put to sleep and Dr Milam and her team were nothing short of amazing through the whole process. We felt comforted and the extra steps the office staff took to help us get through the loss of him showed a compassion and love for their patients and their owners you will almost never see at another vet office.I will never take my doggos to anyone else but Dr Milam at Orion oaks and I cannot recommend them enough! If you are looking for a vet that truly cares for animals and not just the money your spending, this is your place!
May 31 · Sara WestWhen the worst happened and our puppy was hit by a car, Orion Oaks was the only nearby vet willing to take us in right away. They were so kind and took such good care of our boy in a super stressful situation. With immediate X-rays and right into surgery to close up the largest of his wounds and excellent communication to keep us updated throughout. All of the staff was wonderful and we are so thankful!
July 19 · Hannah ArnoldHad a wonderful experience today when my dog ate dark chocolate. They got me right in and started treating him immediately! The male vet/tec (don’t know his name) was so kind explaining everything they were doing and checking in with me regularly to give updates. They were professional, quick and considerate
