Choosing a veterinarian is one of the most important decisions you can make for your pet's health. P.V. Village Pet Hospital offers a compelling case for why it is a place worth choosing. The most powerful reason is the high level of personal care and compassion that clients have experienced. One customer shared a heartwarming story about how the staff, who are described as "kind, knowledgeable, professional, and patient," treat their pup Bentley "like family." This kind of personal connection and dedication to a pet’s well-being is invaluable to any pet owner. The review also notes that even though Bentley gets nervous at the vet, the staff's gentle and wonderful approach ensures he receives the best care. This testimony highlights a key quality of the hospital: its ability to create a comfortable and positive experience for both the pet and the owner.
While one very distressing review details a tragic and unforgivable incident of alleged malpractice, it is important to note that this represents a single, albeit severe, case. The other review and the clinic's public-facing information point to a practice that is otherwise professional and compassionate. The hospital's comprehensive services, which include everything from routine check-ups and an on-site pharmacy to specialized care for exotic animals and chiropractic services, make it a convenient and versatile choice. For those with busy schedules, the added convenience of curbside service, pick-up and drop-off, and an online pharmacy can be a significant benefit. The hospital also makes a clear effort to be an inclusive space, which is an important consideration for many in the California community. The combination of a wide range of services, a focus on client and pet comfort, and a professional, caring staff makes P.V. Village Pet Hospital a strong option for pet owners seeking comprehensive and compassionate care for their furry family members in the Redondo Beach area.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I can’t say enough great things about P.V. Village Pet Hospital. The staff is kind, knowledgeable, professional, and patient. They treat my pup Bentley like family. Even though he gets a little nervous going into the vet for appointments every person on staff is wonderful and I feel Bentley is getting the best care. Thank you for keeping Bentley happy and healthy.
July 08 · Anne KeighleyDo not trust your pets with these doctors. The medical director Emilie Lanquetot and new graduate veterinarian John "Winston" Weigand did malpractice on my dog resulting in his death. I brought my dog here for an abdominal surgery on Thursday 6/19/25 to have a retained testicle removed due to his cryptorchidsm and instead they removed the wrong organ. They removed his prostate instead of the retained testicle. When Dr. Weigand called to go over his post op discharges with me he described the "testicle" as large and irregular. This tells me he did not recognize the anatomy of the patient he was operating on. What makes me most concerned is that Dr. Lanquetot, medical director and veterinarian of over 20 years was allegedly involved in the surgery. I am in complete shock as to how not one but TWO doctors missed this fatal error. To make matters worse they had no idea what they had done to my dog, and I was sent home with a doomed dog. It was only because I noticed that when he was lifting his leg in the garden to relieve himself and nothing was actually coming out like I thought it had did I know something was wrong. I have heard nightmare stories where veterinarians tie down bladder walls or the urethra mistakenly so I knew something was immediately wrong with my dog. I took him to ACCESS Specialty Animal Hospital where I found out the severity of what they had done. The retained testicle was found and surrounding tissue was tied together in an attempt to salvage the urethra during his emergency surgery as the cut was so severe that there was not enough urethral tissue to reconnect. I made the hardest decision of my life and euthanized my best friend who was happy and healthy just two days before and had just turned 2.The emergency visit happened over the weekend, when P.V. village was closed. On Monday when they reopened one of the veterinarians from ACCESS Specialty Animal Hospital called P.V. village to inform them of how their actions resulted in my dog's death over the weekend. I received a voicemail from the medical director where she apologized for what they did to my dog. Nice to know she is sorry for allowing my family member to be a learning experience for this new doctor. If you are in the veterinary field you know that a pet is not just a pet, that was my family member. They have completely broken my trust and there is no way around calling this negligence and incompetence and I will see what next steps I need to take to make sure I advocate for future pet's in their care.
July 01 · Arianna RamosI absolutely love PV Village Pet Hospital and the amazing team that works there. From the front desk staff to the veterinarians, everyone is compassionate, hardworking, and truly dedicated to the well-being of the animals they care for. They always take the time to listen and treat your concerns with genuine respect. As someone who helps run a rescue group, I often recommend this clinic to our adopters, it's one of the few places I trust wholeheartedly with our animals care.
July 17 · Nicole RoachDr. Weigand was very gentle with my dog/baby. He knew how to handle him and my dog felt safe. He had an infection and the doctor did a great job cleaning the wound and prescribing the right medication. I’m also very happy with the service of all the staff. Very kind and friendly.
