Patchogue Animal Hospital is located at 214 Medford Ave, Patchogue, NY 11772, USA. This address places it centrally within Patchogue, making it generally accessible for residents throughout the town and neighboring communities on Long Island. The clinic’s proximity to major roads and local infrastructure can be a factor for pet owners, especially during emergencies when quick access to veterinary care is paramount.
When considering accessibility, local pet owners often look at parking availability, ease of navigation to and from the facility, and proximity to their homes or workplaces. While the exact parking situation or traffic patterns specific to 214 Medford Ave would need to be assessed by individual visitors, a central Patchogue location typically implies reasonable access for most local residents. For New York residents, particularly those in and around Patchogue, selecting a veterinary care provider is a decision that deeply impacts the health and happiness of their beloved pets. While Patchogue Animal Hospital offers a broad spectrum of services, including both traditional and integrative medicine, and the staff holds various certifications and professional memberships, it is crucial for local pet owners to consider all available information when making their choice.
The provided customer reviews present a stark contrast to the stated mission and features of the hospital. Pet owners have expressed significant concerns regarding the professionalism, empathy, and perceived quality of care from the doctor. Statements such as "Doctor is very apathetic, cold, rude and cruel. Not only mean with the pets but also with the owners" and "Mean, rude and unprofessional doctor. They don’t actually care about your animals, they will try to deflect issues back onto the owner without any sort of knowledge on the situation" highlight serious allegations of a lack of compassion and professional conduct. Furthermore, the review mentioning the alleged use of a receptionist in a risky surgery leading to a dog's death is a deeply disturbing claim that raises significant questions about the practice's operational standards and patient safety protocols.
Given these severe customer concerns, New York locals should exercise extreme caution and conduct thorough due diligence before entrusting their pets to Patchogue Animal Hospital. While the range of services, including specialized treatments like acupuncture and stem cell therapy, might appear appealing, the documented negative experiences from multiple clients regarding the core aspects of veterinary care—compassion, professionalism, and actual animal well-being—cannot be overlooked.
It is highly recommended that New Yorkers seeking veterinary care in Patchogue do not rely solely on a list of services or stated professional affiliations. Instead, they should prioritize clinics with consistently positive reviews that emphasize compassionate care, clear communication, and a demonstrable commitment to animal welfare. In light of the critical feedback provided, this particular establishment, despite its location and service offerings, appears to have significant issues that make it potentially unsuitable for local pet owners who genuinely value their pet's life and quality of care. Therefore, while the location is convenient, the overwhelming negative feedback suggests that other options in the New York area should be strongly considered for the well-being of your cherished animal companions.

Patchogue Animal Hospital Reviews
Doctor is very apathetic, cold, rude and cruel. Not only mean with the pets but also with the owners. Raises voice when you say something to her and overall really unprofessional. Doesn’t care about the wellbeing of the pets but cares more about the money. Don’t take you pet here if you actually care about them. And if I could give zero stars I would!!
Jul 03, 2025 · Jessica HernandezMean, rude and unprofessional doctor. They don’t actually care about your animals, they will try to deflect issues back onto the owner without any sort of knowledge on the situation. They also apparently used a receptionist on a risky surgery that killed a man’s dog. All around gross. Do not take your pet here if you value their life or quality of care.
Jan 10, 2025 · Sam LDr. Armfield and the entire staff are truly the most compassionate professionals in the care of my pet family members. I can't overstate my level of gratitude and thanks towards Dr. Armfield's team. My pups and cat have been under their care for over 10 years and I drive over an hour each way because they're that good. My 17 year old pup Mochi was declining in health and I was able to properly say goodbye. Dr. Armfield helped my pup increase his appetite and I was able to give him a few days of his favorite food. Last Friday when I brought him in on short notice, Dr. Armfield was able to take us in and was very thorough in explaining the process. The entire staff was there as I said goodbye to my pet companion. My pup was not alone as he took his last breath and his heart beat for the last time. The compassion of the entire team was remarkable, they gave me the time and space to process my loss. I felt the love and care that they have towards our pet companions. Mochi was able to live a full life, loved by his family because of the excellent care he received by Dr. Armfield and her team. They were there for Mochi and I until the very end. I received a beautiful card from Dr. Armfield and the Patchogue Animal Hospital staff today with their comforting words. Saying goodbye to a pet companion isn't easy, but it's comforting knowing that you're supported by veterinarian experts. Thank you
Jul 20, 2023 · Connor CLove this place. We crossed paths when we pulled a puppy from the NYC shelter who had been exposed to parvo. Being from a rescue they were absolutely wonderful in their treatment and every interaction we've had with them has been nothing but a pleasure.
Jun 03, 2018 · Jessica DelvalleThey treat my mutt, Boo, like he is part of their family. I moved out of state but I miss the staff so much! Dr. Armfield and the ladies are compassionate and smart.
