Pets At Peace Vet Care:In-home Euthanasia Introduce
For pet owners in Rhode Island, making the heart-wrenching decision to say goodbye to a beloved animal companion is one of the most difficult experiences imaginable. During such an emotional time, ensuring your pet's comfort and peace is paramount. Pets At Peace Vet Care: In-home Euthanasia specializes in providing just that – a compassionate, dignified, and serene transition for your pet, all within the familiar and loving environment of your home. This service offers a truly invaluable alternative to the often-stressful clinic setting for a pet's final moments.
Pets At Peace understands that pets are cherished family members, and their end-of-life journey deserves to be as gentle and stress-free as possible. Founded by veterinarians like Dr. Cheryl Faso and Dr. Rachel Orlowski (and with Dr. Linden mentioned in reviews as a key compassionate care provider), this service was created in response to the need for a more personal and comforting alternative to traditional clinic euthanasia. They are dedicated to supporting both pets and their families through this profoundly difficult period. This article will explore the unique services offered by Pets At Peace Vet Care, its approach to compassionate care, and why it is a deeply suitable choice for Rhode Island families navigating pet loss.
While Pets At Peace Vet Care has a listed address at 170 Rhodes St, Providence, RI 02903, USA, it's crucial to understand that their primary service is in-home euthanasia. This means they travel to your location, whether it's your home in Providence, or a surrounding community within their service area in Rhode Island and parts of Massachusetts. The listed address serves as a base of operations, but the core of their service delivery is mobile.
This in-home model significantly enhances accessibility for Rhode Island pet owners, particularly when facing the challenges of transporting a sick, elderly, or anxious pet to a clinic. There's no need to navigate traffic, manage a pet's discomfort in a car, or deal with the potentially unsettling environment of a veterinary office during such a sensitive time. Their ability to come directly to your home allows for a private, intimate, and stress-free experience for your pet, surrounded by the people and familiar sights they love. This unparalleled convenience and focus on comfort truly make their services accessible when it matters most.
Pets At Peace Vet Care specializes in end-of-life services, focusing on providing a peaceful and dignified transition for pets in the comfort of their own homes. Their services are designed to support both the pet and their family through this emotional process. Key offerings include:
- In-Home Euthanasia: This is their primary service. The veterinarian travels to the pet's home, allowing the pet to pass away in a familiar, comfortable, and loving environment, free from the stress of a clinic visit. This process typically involves a sedative to ensure the pet is relaxed and pain-free before the final injection.
- Telemedicine Consultations: Pets At Peace offers optional telemedicine calls, such as those with Dr. Linden, to help pet owners better understand their pet's disease progression, assess their quality of life, and make informed decisions about end-of-life care. This can reduce clinic visits and minimize stress, ensuring families are prepared for the process.
- Hospice Care Consultations: While not a full hospice facility, they provide consultations on palliative care (pain management, optimizing nutrition, assisting with mobility) to help pets with incurable diseases or those at the natural end of their lives live as fully and comfortably as possible before euthanasia.
- Quality of Life Assessments: Veterinarians perform a compassionate assessment to help families determine if humane euthanasia is the right choice, guiding them through the signs of declining comfort and well-being.
- Personalized Support and Guidance: From the initial contact, their team offers empathetic guidance, discussing what to expect, aftercare options, and addressing any concerns with kindness and patience.
- Sedation for Comfort: Prior to the euthanasia solution, pets receive a sedative (often with anti-pain and anti-anxiety medication) to ensure they are completely relaxed, peaceful, and pain-free throughout the transition.
- Aftercare Options: They provide various options for the pet's remains, including:
- Private Cremation: Transportation of the pet to a reputable cremation service (e.g., Final Gift) for individual cremation, with the return of the pet's ashes to the family. They ensure the ashes received are solely those of the beloved pet.
- Communal Cremation: The pet is cremated with other beloved animals, and their remains are typically spread at a memorial garden or similar respectful location, without the return of ashes to the owner.
- Home Burial: For families who prefer to bury their pet at home, they can provide guidance or appropriate heavy-duty cardboard coffins.
- Grief Support Resources: Although not explicitly listed as a service, the compassionate approach and understanding nature of the staff, as noted in reviews, often extend to providing resources or acknowledging the family's grief during and after the process.
Pets At Peace Vet Care distinguishes itself with several deeply compassionate and highly valued features and highlights that are particularly impactful during a time of loss:
- Unparalleled Comfort for Pets: The ability for a pet to spend their final moments in their own home, surrounded by familiar sights, sounds, and loved ones, is the paramount feature. This drastically reduces the fear, stress, and anxiety often associated with clinic visits, allowing for a truly peaceful passing.
- Profound Compassion and Empathy: Customer reviews consistently highlight the exceptional kindness, understanding, and grace of the veterinarians (like Dr. Linden) and staff (like Jane and Michelle). They are praised for making the experience as gentle and comforting as possible for both the pet and the grieving family.
- Professional and Dignified Process: While deeply empathetic, the team maintains a high level of professionalism, handling the entire situation with grace and ensuring the pet's transition is painless and dignified. They explain the process thoroughly, ensuring families feel informed and supported.
- Justification and Reassurance: For families struggling with the decision, the veterinarians provide vital comfort and reassurance, helping owners feel confident that they are making the right choice for their pet's quality of life, as highlighted by Kim and Jack's review regarding Dr. Linden.
- Personalized and Unrushed Experience: Unlike a clinic setting where time constraints might be a factor, Pets At Peace allows families to take their time saying goodbye. This unhurried approach is crucial for processing grief and creating meaningful final moments.
- Comprehensive Aftercare Coordination: They streamline the difficult process of aftercare by offering various cremation options and handling the transportation of remains, alleviating a significant burden from grieving families.
- Focus on Reducing Human Stress: By providing in-home services, they eliminate the stress of driving a grieving family home from a clinic, allowing them to process emotions privately and in comfort.
- Accessibility During Difficult Times: While they are not an emergency service and prefer advance notice, their mobile model makes them uniquely accessible for pre-planned euthanasia, especially for pets who are too frail or anxious to travel.

Pets At Peace Vet Care:In-home Euthanasia Reviews
Having to say bye to a pet is never easy and with it being our first time I’m so happy we chose to do it at home with the help of pets at peace. Saying bye to our sweet Lola was the hardest decision but having Dr. Linden come and comfort our sweet girl passing over the rainbow bridge while also comforting us and justifying we were making the right decision was everything we could have asked for. So professional, comforting and all around helped us feel at peace during a very emotional time. Thank you so much again 💕 - Kim and Jack
Jul 04, 2025 · Kimberly SwansonIn home euthanasia was the best choice for our precious Lucy and I can't say enough good things about Jane and Michelle. They handled the situation professionally, gracefully and gently. They were kind, understanding and loving. They made Lucy comfortable and her transition was painless. She was surrounded by the people she loved. I would urge anyone to put their pet to rest at home, and choose Pets at Peace. It was the best possible experience for Lucy and the people who loved her.
May 11, 2025 · Kristen RMy husband and I had to say goodbye to our beloved dog Tilly this past February after a long, courageous battle with canine cancer. They gave us space, comforted us with gentle words, and never rushed a single second. We are forever grateful for the peaceful and humane goodbye they helped give Tilly in the place she loved most—home, wrapped in our arms. Jun 21, 2025 · Kate StengelWhen our cat Foofins started his end of life process, we knew that we didn’t want his last experience with us to be in a vets office with the smells of other animals, noises and the stress of travel. We really just wanted him to pass peacefully at home. We had no idea that a service like this was available. When I reached out to Dr. Linden, she responded quickly and professionally. We setup a call and Dr.Linden answered all of our questions with clarity and compassion. This was an important step for us. Not only to clarify the process but the validation of knowing we were making the right decision.Today was our scheduled day to say goodbye and our cat’s health took a turn for the worst. My wife reached out, and Dr.Linden was able to come to us earlier to minimize his suffering. When Dr. Linden and Tech Michelle arrived, I can’t explain it, but they felt more like family. They are a fantastic team. The empathy and compassion they showed us and our boy was more than I have ever witnessed. Having been through the end of life process many times with animals in my life, the service they provided today was truly a blessing.I couldn’t put a price on what they did for us today. They are truly amazing women.
May 08, 2025 · JRLOn the worst day of your life, when you are facing down the death of your beloved animal, Dr. Linden and her tech Michelle are the people you want by your side. After almost a decade of work as my service dog, my standard poodle Glimmer was hit by a car. She was almost thirteen, and did not recover well from multiple surgeries. Dr. Linden conducted a thorough review of Glimmer's medical history and helped us determine when it was time to let her go.They allowed us to give Glimmer a peaceful passing, at home in my arms, and helped us dress Glimmer in her service dog cape one last time. From the bottom of my heart, I will forever be incredibly grateful for Pets at Peace and could not possibly recommend them more.
