Placentia Veterinary Clinic Introduce
For pet owners in Placentia, Anaheim, and the wider Orange County, California region, finding an animal hospital that offers both high-quality medical expertise and genuine compassion is a top priority. Placentia Veterinary Clinic has been a staple in the community for years, providing comprehensive veterinary care that ranges from routine wellness check-ups to critical emergency assistance. This article will provide a clear and engaging overview of the clinic, detailing its location, the extensive range of services it offers, and what makes it a choice worth considering for your pet's health.
The clinic prides itself on offering a personalized and caring experience. Many clients have expressed their long-standing trust in the team, with one reviewer noting that they have been taking their pets here for years and find the new vet, who took over for Dr. Evans, to be a "sweetheart with my pets." The staff and office team are consistently described as "very nice and supportive." Another client praised the clinic's ability to provide a high level of care, even for their rescued kittens, and felt that the drive from Irvine was "worth so much" for the level of care and treatment they received. The sense of trust and the strong belief that their pets are getting the "best possible care available" are recurring themes in positive feedback.
However, it is crucial for pet owners to be informed about all aspects of a clinic's services. One highly emotional and detailed review from a grieving pet owner highlighted a deeply disappointing experience with the clinic's handling of their dog's serious health condition. The owner recounted how their dog, Daisy, was sent home with a heart condition diagnosis after a brief check, despite showing severe symptoms like abdominal swelling and difficulty breathing. A second opinion from another vet revealed Daisy had a large mass on her liver and heart, leading to a terminal cancer diagnosis. The owner felt that Placentia Veterinary Clinic "didn't cover their bases" and failed to take their concerns seriously, which they believe led to Daisy's last days being spent in an unfamiliar emergency hospital rather than in comfort at home. This review serves as a powerful reminder for all pet owners to trust their instincts and seek a second opinion for serious health concerns. While the reviewer acknowledges that the cancer could not have been prevented, they emphasize the lack of proactive care and diagnostic testing. This feedback suggests that while the clinic may be excellent for "very basic concerns," pet owners with serious or complex issues might need to be extra vigilant and communicative.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This review is quite overdue, but had to take some time processing our tough loss of our sweet Daisy of 14 years. I also wanted to make sure I wasn't making this review out of pure anger and disappointment.Daisy had been having some heart issues over the past year or so, but one weekend in January, her abdominal area swelled up significantly and she would have a hard time breathing. We've taken Daisy here over the years, and while my mother would call repeatedly and share Daisy's concerns in January, they didn't call her back and when they finally did and examined her, they just mentioned it can happen w/ her heart condition (heart murmurs) & told us to stop giving 1 of the medications they prescribed her and sent her home.Nothing was improving, we went with our gut to get a 2nd opinion with Dr. Dhanoa at Yorba Pet Care Center, and in just 1 day he was able to give us a thorough assessment, recommended draining fluid (he removed ONE ENTIRE LITER OF FLUID) from her abdominal area making her more comfortable. He shared the risks, and ran further tests and that is how we found out she had a huge mass on her liver & heart. We had to take her to the ER for an ultrasound, in which she ended up having to stay for a few days hooked up to oxygen because of how reliant she was on it. The mass ended up being Hemangiosarcoma, very aggressive cancer and her prognosis was only a few days to weeks at most. We had to make the unbearable decision to put her down so she wasn't struggling so much, but truthfully, if we didn't go to Dr. Dhanoa -- Daisy would have simply been struggling so bad and the mass, not could have, WOULD HAVE, bursted, causing her immense pain right before passing away. The vet here at Placentia Veterinary Clinic completely acknowledged it wasn't normal to see her breathing that way & how swollen she was, and they didn't think to run additional tests. They didn't even look into removing fluid like the other vet. Seeing all that Daisy faced, I am in complete disbelief that they didn't cover their bases to see what else could be going on with her & instead just sent her home.I can understand times get busy, they deal w/ consistent stressed & emotional pet owners day in and day out, but we are completely trusting you and our pet under your care ESPECIALLY in times of their older ages. Daisy's passing & her cancer absolutely couldn't have been prevented by the vet here, however, I do strongly believe that if they had put in more care for her and took our concerns more seriously, it wouldn't have happened in the manner it did and we could've taken better care of Daisy and she wouldn't have had to spend her last days hooked up to oxygen in an unfamiliar hospital. If we could've been more proactive of this, we would have taken any possible necessary step to make her last days with us more comfortable, and we weren't given that chance.Recommend this vet for very basic concerns (allergies, etc) but absolutely wouldn't go here if you have any serious concerns. Please trust your gut with your pet and get another opinion.
February 11 · Mika NguyenThey are the best! I’ve had both of my (rescued) kittens “fixed” with Placentia Veterinary Clinic. I feel the current Vet that took over for Dr Evans is a sweetheart with my pets. The support & office staff are all very nice and supportive as well. Even though it’s a ways from my home (in Irvine), I still feel it’s worth the drive to get the level of care and treatment. I feel my pets are getting the best possible care available and that’s worth so much ❤️🩹😻
August 30 · Catherine A LMy 4 Daschunds have been patients of Placentia Veterinary Clinic since 2000. Dr. Evans and Dr. Debbie Casaveres have treated me and my dogs with the very best care and professionalism. Dr. Casaveres has carried on Dr. Evans caring and loving attitude since his recent retirement. They are truly the best people to entrust my dog's health care to. Many times have I brought my pups into their office and walked out without being charged. They truly make having pets very affordable. I know that hey care for my pets healthcare more than making a buck. I cannot describe how happy I am with them. I am always recommending them to other pet owners. Please, keep up the good work and personal attention . You are truly appreciated by many of your clients.
March 05 · Manuel PsilandisThe staff here is very sweet! I really appreciate that they don't force you to do unnecessary tests and they actually feel way more reserved compared to most vets that immediately suggest a billion expensive tests. They're also happy to offer surface level support over the phone too. I thought my cats ate chocolate one day (turns out they didn't) and they walked me through what to watch out for over the phone. Most other vets would immediately tell me to bring in my cats for X, Y, Z testing etc. They were very affectionate with my cat when they saw her. :)
March 03 · Vensy MarchThe best place to take your pet for care! I've been taking my pets there for 15 years now. Dr. Debbie Cassabear is the lead veterinarian. She is so good at what she does. She really loves animals and really cares for your pet. The staff is fantastic! They are all very kind and take great care of your pet as well. The prices are very reasonable. I love Placentia Vet! Thank you for taking such great car of our pets.
