★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1- Please read the reviews and understand why some of these views are unjustified. If they weren't taking new clients? That's them focusing on the animals they have and giving them accurate care. Some of these reviews are mixed from the 'other' Prairie View.As for my experience, I'm going to cry writing this because we lost who I would consider my savior. Not just a dog. My Kassy was a rescue and they treated her so wonderfully. She needed to have an eye removed, and the set us up with K-State, and helped us make sure the other eye stayed healthy with the other meds. Kassy in her adult years suffered from a lot of issues, and I was sure we were going to lose her soon so I figured would get her Farmer's Dog. Based on extensive testing, they found that she had issues with diabetes and multiple other issues. They got her on insulin and cared enough to help with everything they could have. When I was ready to say goodbye, they gave us 2 more quality years with her. They returned calls quickly and checked in often. They loved Kassy, and treated her like one of their 'favorite pets', which I'm sure they do often. We have another dog that we take there and they do great work with him and looking at alternative options like supplements instead of just meds. Kassy Passed about a year and a half ago. Cue the tears. The process, without having to explain it, was better than a vet told us it could be in the past. They went the extra mile and sedated her first, so she could relax and sleep without struggling (something other vets in the past didn't do), and then they administered the drug to let her go. They allowed us to stay in the room. There was emotion from the vet that I was not expecting, and they made sure we had time. They also watched the doors for people that were coming in for things like meds and bringing them their meds outside so we could grieve quietly without having to 'get it together' when leaving. You want a cheap vet or lower fees, you're not going to get the best treatment for your pet. Consider pet insurance if price is a huge issue. I don't think they are outrageous, and they know what they're doing. As far as the eye removal, they did say they would be able do it, but K-State would be better. When a doctor can refer you instead of saying let me do it so I get paid even if it's not a speciality, that makes me respect them. I would definitely recommend them, and appreciate their help with our other dog as well. I focused on Kassy so much because she had so many health issues and fought and did so much. I love her still, but I thank Prairie View for giving us more time with something that gave me experiences in life and love I have never felt from a dog or person. Shop around if you want, but Wahoo is lucky to have them. They get my endorsement. May 23 · Michael Valdez
- I haven't even been to the clinic yet I moved here from out of state called around for prices and this one is the winner for the most expensive neuter and vaccination in the entire 50 mi radius! Receptionist says "oh we're a little pricey' UNDERSTATEMENT OF THE YEAR AND IT'S ONLY JANUARY! Quoted me anywhere between $450 and $650 to neuter a cat! Ridiculous absolutely ridiculous! I lived in Utah where everything cost three times more and they charge $100 to neuter a cat and that's in several towns all over the state why do you guys have the nerve to charge that much money? Have fun losing business. January 06 · Jennifer Gregory
- December 28, 2022Despite having had all my pets for the last decade taken care of by this location, they have refused to add any new animals to their practice for the last two years. I had to put my dog down there because he was suffering, two years ago and when I my son gave me his dog that he couldn't have in his new apartment they refused to see him. Stating that they did not want to add any new animals to their practice. After my son took his dog back I just adopted from the humane society and still they would not accept a new patient. This place needs to hire more assistance and get at least one other veterinarian on staff. - This business had taken care of our pet for years and had even performed cancer surgery. Dr. Paulie was the best! I took my pet into the new owner for care after the business was sold. I had arranged to pick up important meds for my pet before they were to close for the day. I arrived finding the door locked and the business closed! I was told they decided to close early on a whim! I was very upset in how it was handled and now go to another vet with excellent care. July 04 · Joan Hanson
- They seems very unprofessional. I took my German shepherd in and they immediately had me muzzle her (I know it's just a precaution). But the muzzle was 3x too small. Mind you, this appointment was only to get her nails trimmed. And they tossed her up on the table. The environment is stressful for dogs. They had 3 people lay on her to hold her down which only made her struggle more. Sometimes they would cut her nail too short and she would bleed. Very unprofessional. I now go to Green Acres across town. May 16 · Molly H.
