★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1- I recently moved to the area and called to schedule an appointment for my puppy’s yeast infection checkup. However, they made me pay a deposit just to make the appointment. I then found another vet who offered me a pet insurance plan for my puppy, so I decided to go there instead.By the way, the clinic we now visit offers an AMAZING pet insurance plan! I forgot to call and cancel my appointment here because we had found the clinic that provides the insurance. When I called to request a refund for the deposit, I was informed that it was a non-refundable deposit because I had waisted the doctor’s time. They never told me that I couldn’t get my deposit back because of that.If you’re looking for a vet and aren’t certain about going there, I wouldn’t recommend it. They seem to be more interested in taking your deposit than in providing quality care. August 15 · Tim Moyer
- We took our puppy here several times based on neighborhood recommendations, even though several neighbors said the clinic was more expensive than most. Multiple errors were made in our puppy’s care. She was over vaccinated when they provided the same vaccine twice (but they did us a favor and didn’t charge for it again), incorrectly medicated when the dosing was wrong for flea/tick/heartworm meds-even though they had just weighed her, and scheduling errors were made. We tried to give the clinic another chance. Staff was very rude on the phone and uncomfortable to interact with. The vet we saw had also left the clinic and we were not notified because the office manager left too. I do not feel confident with their care. So many other vet options with better staff, weekend hours, urgent care options, etc. When we were switching our puppy’s care to a new clinic, the new clinic mentioned they get many pets that have switched from this clinic. The new clinic is also less expensive based on their estimates and published fees. The new clinic was also kind in the phone. Don’t waste your time and risk your pet’s health at Elkhorn Animal Hospital. March 25 · Jenni W
- Our indoor / outdoor cat gets into more than his fair share of mischief and altercations with local wildlife. This was his second visit to the Elkhorn Animal Hospital in three months. They handled him with appropriate care, assessed his injuries, provided medications (as well as a cone of shame) and he was as right as rain within a week.We also bring our Chow Chow in for care, but she is not quite as adventurous, so her visits are less frequent. Regardless, we feel they are both getting good care here. August 19 · Chris Rehberg
- If I could give 0 stars I absolutely would 😔Please please please don’t take your fur babies to this veterinary officeMy 8 year Boston terrier whom was perfectly healthy prior to his annual yearly appointment for routine vaccines had received them and the next day after he had gotten his vaccines he was unable to walk. He made many attempts to walk but sadly was unable. As a worried pet parent I had called this veterinary office and wanted to get my Boston terrier seem as soon as possible and they had told me because the were booked out I couldn’t get him in to be seen for 2 days after I had called them. I then decided he couldn’t wait to be seen and I decided to take him to an urgent care vet who after seeing my Boston terrier couldn’t give me any direct answers as to why this was occurringWith as much pain as my Boston terrier was in I made the sad decision to put him down since he was in so much visible pain 🥺He was such a special part of my family and he meant the world to our family and to my kids especially. We were absolutely devastated by his passing. While the cause of his death is unknown I do find it interesting that a perfectly healthy dog who went in for routine vaccines had gotten them and then 12 hours later was unable to walk and living in pain. Weeks had passed and I had gotten a letter in the mail from this very veterinary office stating that I was terminated as their client which was odd. I have another dog I had NOT planned on taking back to this place since I had felt uneasy about them after this situation occurred. So why send me a letter like this with no explanation unless you had reason to?Could it be because of malpractice? Who knows February 28 · Sarah Murray
