Rolling Hills Veterinary Services Introduce
For pet owners in Anniston and the surrounding Alabama communities, finding a veterinary practice that offers comprehensive, compassionate care for a variety of animals is a significant priority. Rolling Hills Veterinary Services is a local establishment that serves as a full-service animal hospital, providing a wide range of medical and surgical services for both small and large animals. This clinic prides itself on its commitment to pet health, offering everything from routine check-ups and preventative care to more complex internal medicine and emergency treatments. They understand that a pet is a cherished member of the family, and their mission is to provide the highest standard of veterinary care to ensure the well-being and longevity of every animal they treat. Rolling Hills Veterinary Services aims to be a one-stop-shop for a pet's health needs, which is a great convenience for busy Alabama families. However, it's worth noting that the clinic has received a range of feedback from its clients, with some expressing dissatisfaction with aspects of their experience. This mixed feedback highlights the importance of open communication and setting clear expectations with any service provider, including a veterinary clinic. While some reviews praise the compassionate care and quality services, others point to challenges with staff interactions, billing transparency, and after-hours availability. This all underscores the fact that finding the right vet is a personal decision that requires careful consideration of what matters most to you as a pet owner.
Rolling Hills Veterinary Services offers a robust set of services that reflect its full-service capabilities. They are equipped to handle a variety of pet health needs, from routine dental services and heartworm prevention to more serious emergency and urgent care situations. The clinic's ability to care for a wide range of animals, from pocket pets and small mammals to large animals, is a unique asset that serves a diverse client base in a region where both companion and farm animals are common. They have an in-house and online pharmacy, which provides convenient access to necessary medications and prescriptions. While they state that they offer emergency and urgent care during business hours, some customer feedback indicates that they do not provide an after-hours emergency contact. This is an important detail for pet owners to consider when planning for all possible scenarios. The clinic recommends making appointments to ensure efficient service, which is a standard practice for many veterinary offices. Despite the challenges that some clients have faced, the clinic does have a history of providing care to the community. For new clients, it is always a good practice to ask for an estimate for services and to clarify their policies regarding emergency care and communication to ensure it aligns with your expectations for your pet's well-being.

For Alabama residents in the Anniston area, choosing a veterinary clinic is a significant decision that requires careful consideration. Rolling Hills Veterinary Services offers a range of services that can be highly beneficial for many pet owners, but it is important to approach them with clear expectations. The clinic’s comprehensive care for a wide variety of animals, from large animals to pocket pets, is a major advantage that sets them apart. This versatility makes them a practical choice for families with different types of animals. Their ability to handle emergency and urgent care during business hours provides a crucial resource for pet owners when time is of the essence. The on-site kennel, grooming, and pet supply store also offer an incredible level of convenience, making pet care more streamlined for busy individuals. However, as some reviews suggest, a client should be prepared to be an active advocate for their pet's care. It is advisable to be direct with the staff about your expectations, particularly regarding communication, billing, and after-hours availability. For instance, the experience of the client with the dog's death and the lack of an after-hours contact is a serious point of consideration for any pet owner. While they are a professional practice that provides a variety of services, the mixed feedback highlights that a strong and communicative relationship is key. For those who are new to the practice or are transitioning from another vet, asking for quotes and clarifying the protocol for emergencies and after-hours care upfront is the best way to ensure a positive experience. Ultimately, Rolling Hills Veterinary Services can be a valuable partner in your pet's health journey, particularly for those who value a full-service, one-stop-shop approach, provided that they take an active role in managing their relationship with the clinic.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I don't normally review businesses. I usually let it go but this one I cannot. Our vet of more than 20+ years retired in January of 2024 without notice due to unexpected health issues. He and his office staff were caring individuals that loved animals. However, this untimely retirement left us in a rush to find another vet that could help us with our multiple furry friends. We were looking for a vet that would be like our last but I did not know where to start.I ended up choosing Rolling Hills in Anniston/Heflin as they were close to me. Even though I asked around town and most folks suggested that I try somewhere else first, I chose to stay local anyway. That was a mistake. The front office staff has never been friendly and they never could remember who I was when I came in every month for my dog's monthly pills. We scheduled a surgery for one of my older dogs. I got there on the morning of the surgery and they did not have me down. It was only after I produced the appointment card that they said that they would work me in. We had one of my girl dogs spayed last summer. After they performed the surgery they hit me with an additional charge for her being "obese". No discussion. No phone call. Just, "Hey, this is a lot more than we quoted you. Here is the bill."I overlooked this all. I was just trying to learn a new vet and they were trying to learn me. This all changed at Christmas time and really changed for the last time today. On Christmas morning I had a dog die. She was old and we knew it was coming. I called RHVS on December 26th to find out how to get her remains taken care of. They were still off for the holiday with no emergency contact or anyway to leave a message. It was left to me to call all over Alabama until I found a place in Birmingham that would help me.Today, I called and asked to speak to the vet about an up-coming appointment that I had for my dog, Hoover. I had already called yesterday asking to speak to him but was put off and never had a return call. Once he finally got on the phone today, he was real short with me.I tried to explain to him that Hoover had anxiety issues and would be real nervous coming in tomorrow. I asked if there was a pill we could give him to calm him before coming in. The vet started "attacking" me for lack of a better word saying that he will not treat an aggressive dog. I reiterated to him that he is not aggressive but just nervous. He has real anxiety issues but he stood his ground. Finally, with none of my attempts to change his mind were working, I asked him how long has he been practicing to which he replied 35 years. I asked him if he had ever seen a nervous dog with anxiety issues and he just repeated that he is not treating an aggressive dog.I told him I hated to hear that and I would be by to collect the files on my dogs and cats. If he refused to treat one, he cannot treat any.Other things that need to be mentioned is that they do not offer emergency appointments and they do not have an after hours contact. The vet I came from had all of these and more. Unfortunate that more like him are not around. This has put me in a spot as Hoover has a real problem that needs to be addressed. I am now on the search for another vet.
