Route 66 Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Center Reviews
I had to take my soul dog in after he suddenly collapsed in the middle of the night. The staff were absolutely amazing. They were quick, helpful, and beyond compassionate from the moment we arrived and long after I had to put my sweet boy to rest. They wrapped him in a soft blanket, let me stay with him in a private room for as long as I needed to (even after), let me leave to go to an ATM to cover the cost (which wasn’t much), and even sent me a card in the mail signed by all of the staff. Losing a loved one is never easy but I couldn’t imagine how much worse it wouldn’t have been without these wonderful people.
Jun 20, 2025 · LenaTook my rat here to get euthanized today — it was very unexpected and difficult, but the staff made it a lot easier. The receptionist explained everything about the procedure in great depth over the phone and answered all of our questions kindly. We were brought back very quickly once we arrived and the technician that we interacted with, who handled my girl’s procedure, was incredibly sweet and compassionate. They returned my rat to me in a casket that they had decorated so thoughtfully and they were able to give me papers with her paw prints on them as well. Thank you so so much — such incredible care. Absolutely recommend.
May 18, 2025 · Dani EtherealOur cat got very sick recently, we took him to Route 66 Veterinary because they could see him soon and had late afternoon appointments. Their price was also very reasonable. We were surprised by the excellent and compassionate care we received. Thanks to Dr. Ruiz being willing to listen and think of all possible alternatives for our cat he is still with us. They were also incredibly kind and compassionate towards us, when we thought we had to say goodbye to our beloved pet. I am not ashamed to say I called them a couple weeks later to beg them to become our cat’s primary care, sadly no go, as they an emergency service. Their facilities were clean and comfortable, guard in their parking lot for the midnight run to pick up some medication for kitty, truly excellent vet care.
Apr 27, 2025 · Sisy StaussI can not be more thankful for the Route 66 emergency team. Our baby boy went in bc we noticed him very sick, they got us in fairly quick. Dr. Calo immediately did X-rays and blood work. Found out he ate hair ties and needed emergency surgery (thank you dr. Ortiz and team for performing a successful surgery). To be honest, I read the reviews and was nervous. But we had no choice, and I had to put my faith in the doctors and vet techs. Let’s just say if we ever need to go to an emergency vet again, ROUTE 66 will be our go to. The cost estimate wasn’t outrageous nor was it unexpected. I honestly thought it would be more. Because of our dog quickly eating and his condition not worsening he was able to come home sooner than expected which cut the cost even more. For people that can not pay the price of stay/ procedure they do offer two different credit options. I should add we have two dachshunds, so we made sure we got pet insurance for them when we first got them thinking it might be their back one day. PET PARENTS PLZ GET YOUR DOGS PET INSURANCE, IT IS SO WORTH IT. (Yes, you will need to pay money to the VET upfront). Our little boy is now recovering at home. Thank you Route 66 for saving our little baby.
