ACE of Paws is a specialized veterinary physical rehabilitation center offering a wide range of alternative and integrative modalities for dogs and cats. Their services are designed to address various conditions, including post-surgical recovery, chronic pain, arthritis, neurological issues, and geriatric care. They do not provide general veterinary services like routine vaccinations or basic check-ups, but instead focus on enhancing mobility, reducing pain, and improving overall quality of life through tailored therapy regimes. Here are the core services and technologies typically offered:
- Therapeutic Laser Therapy (Class IV): Utilizing high-intensity laser light to promote healing, reduce inflammation, and alleviate pain at a cellular level. This is commonly used for post-surgical recovery, arthritis, wounds, and muscle strains.
- Acupuncture: Offering both dry needling and electroacupuncture. This ancient technique involves inserting fine needles into specific points on the body to stimulate healing, reduce pain, improve nerve function, and promote overall balance. It's highly effective for musculoskeletal issues, neurological conditions, and chronic pain.
- Canine Underwater Treadmill: Hydrotherapy in a controlled environment. The buoyancy of water reduces weight-bearing stress on joints, making it ideal for strengthening muscles, improving range of motion, and building stamina, especially for pets recovering from surgery or suffering from arthritis.
- Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES) & Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS): These therapies use electrical currents to stimulate muscles (NMES, for muscle strengthening and preventing atrophy) or block pain signals (TENS, for pain relief), aiding in rehabilitation and pain management.
- Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF): Uses electromagnetic fields to stimulate cell repair and reduce inflammation, promoting natural healing processes in the body.
- Therapeutic Ultrasound: Different from diagnostic ultrasound, therapeutic ultrasound uses sound waves to generate heat deep within tissues, increasing blood flow, reducing pain and muscle spasms, and promoting tissue healing.
- Shockwave Therapy: A non-invasive treatment that delivers high-energy sound waves to injured areas, stimulating healing processes, reducing pain, and improving mobility, often used for chronic orthopedic conditions.
- Customized Strengthening Exercise Programs: Tailored exercise plans guided by certified rehabilitation therapists to build strength, improve coordination, and restore functional movement.
- Massage Therapy: Manual techniques to relax muscles, improve circulation, reduce pain, and enhance overall well-being.
- At-Home Regimen Prescription: Providing pet owners with personalized exercise plans and guidance to continue rehabilitation efforts at home, ensuring consistent progress.

ACE of Paws Reviews
We are incredibly pleased with the rehabilitation therapy our German Shepherd received. After just three treatments, which included laser therapy and acupuncture, there was a noticeable improvement in his post-surgical knee and hip pain. He's now much stronger and can walk up and down the stairs again—something he couldn’t do before starting his therapy. The staff is knowledgeable, compassionate, and truly dedicated to his recovery. We couldn’t be happier with the level of care provided and would highly recommend Ace of Paws to anyone looking for effective, holistic therapy for their pet.

Oct 17, 2024 · lindsey snidermanThey were great with my best bud Apollo! He was given poor odds from the start, but Ace of Paws gave him the best chance possible. Unfortunately, he never recovered, but the compassionate work they did made those last few months tolerable for both Apollo and his family. Can't thank you all enough!
Sep 29, 2023 · Brian GatesWe adopted a shelter dog that had just had hip surgery, was really struggling with walking and had no ability to get over even the lowest obstacles. We did a course of treatment at Ace for 6 months which really helped her, and now she is clambering up steep hills and jumping over fallen trees. The staff were great and the treatment really changed her life, we're very grateful!
