Sachem Animal Hospital Reviews
**Exceptional Care and Compassion – The Best Vet Around!**I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Blakely and the entire staff at Sachem Animal Hospital. After struggling for two years with recurring issues that previous vets dismissed as “normal,” I finally found a team that truly listens—not just to their patients, but to their owners as well. Dr. Blakely’s professionalism, knowledge, and genuine compassion set him apart in every way.One of the things I appreciate most is how thorough he is at every single visit. He takes the time to explain everything in detail, ensuring I fully understand my dog’s condition, treatment options, and next steps. No question ever goes unanswered, and he always makes sure I feel confident in the care my dog is receiving. That level of attention and transparency is rare, and it truly makes all the difference.I willingly travel all the way from Bethpage just to bring my dog here, because I know he is receiving the absolute best care. The entire team at Sachem Animal Hospital goes above and beyond, and it’s clear how much they love what they do. After seeing multiple vets, I finally have peace of mind knowing my dog is in the best hands. I am beyond grateful for Dr. Blakely and his incredible staff, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a veterinary team that treats your pet like their own.Thank you for everything you do!
Mar 20, 2025 · Camilla BiscariniI can’t say enough great things about Sachem Animal Hospital! Dr. Blakey is absolutely fantastic — he made both me and my dog feel like we were his top priority from the moment we walked in. It’s clear he truly knows and cares about my pet, remembering not just the medical history but the personality too. The care we receive here is best in class — compassionate, thorough, and always professional. So grateful to have a vet we can trust completely! Dr Meyers is amazing too!
May 28, 2025 · Kelly SBeing here 5 years more since I have one dog. Until now I’ve two cats at one dog. The staff at the counter are very kind. The vet always treats my babies very carefully.

May 23, 2025 · Jim McgrawI was not going to post this, but I feel I need to. We are only here a couple of months. I brought my new little girl here although there are a lot of great reviews about Dr. Blakely we have never had the pleasure of seeing him. Anyway, we saw Dr. Meyer Although he was very nice, I always felt like something was off, and he was pushing science hill food I said well She is only eight months old.So upon his recommendation, I tried the science Hill and within days she suffered terribly, vomiting diarrhea , not eating not drinking This is the reason why I’m posting this because she hadn’t eaten or drank water in 2 days. So i called sachem and I spoke to Cameron on the phone who told they were totally booked and could not see her. I begged her to squeeze her in because I was worried. I called a different vet who agreed to take us two hours from the time and in between that time, I got a callback saying there was a cancellation from Sachem. Since we were already established here it was hard to believe they wouldn’t care enough to squeeze her in one thing led to another. It was a disaster. Saw Dr Kim They did a bunch of things to her including X-rays and Gave me tablets that were not even the right mg Barbara told me to cut them in half and stick them down the throat even though she is vomiting and she wasn’t even eating and also told me she had an ear Infection so they treated that and then I had to go back in because they forgot to give me the medicine. She continued to get worse. I took her to the vet hospital After that Where they checked her vitals and did additional things to her and anti-nausea shot. And asking why i didn’t get the liquid for the antibiotic especially since she wouldn’t eat. My point is I was very upset that day. While there at Sachem and I tried speaking to Barbara quietly to tell her we were established here how could she turn us away. She proceeded to be abrupt and loud telling me they are overworked and understaffed I said she’s my child what if that happened to your child. She said that that did happen to her child and we (Barbara said) she also told me I was lucky they only charged me an office fee on top of all the other charges and not an emergency fee and again that they are overworked and understaffed so I ask you why are they accepting new patients then I asked her about 10% courtesy discount because we didn’t have pet insurance. She said we have no control over anything they are now corporate owned (And that was fine I paid my bill In full) She continued to go on about the fact that again that They are overwhelmed by the amount of work the doctors put on them. Pointing to her computer screen so you see what we have to do she said. So honestly again why would you take on more patients on. Not to mention their pricing is so much higher than anothe vet that and I found a wonderful one. Also the fact that I should never have been told to change food for an 8 month old puppy that up until the new food change as per their recommendation she was thriving. They must get paid to promote it or something. More than that, I was upset what do you do when Someone you loves does is so sick . You reach out to their caregiver. This is not a happy place. Long and short of it they choose quantity over quality. Barbara said it herself they are overworked overwhelmed and Understaffed. They should be posting no new patients. The way she spoke to me was so unprofessional and I tried to whisper when I was speaking to her and she just got louder. I guess they did not care for the fact that I insisted on them looking at my sick little 8 month old girl. And I have been trying to get I. Touch with Joanna who wrote me a letter with no way to contact her. It has been 3 days now. I will continue to speak up for my little girl that doesn’t have a voice. Respectfully
