VCA Farmingville Animal Hospital Reviews
I was recommended by a friend because my dog has severe allergies. I met with Dr Goss who's a great knowledgeable vet. This was my first boudoir visit and I will be following up with her when my 13 yo golden girl goes into allergy mode. I also spoke with Nikko hoping I spelled that right and Amy as well to resolve a billing issue that was completely handled within hours of my call. Thanks so much
Mar 25, 2025 · Michele GarofanoWe were clients of VCA FARMINGVILLE formerly known as Farmingville Animal hospital for 24 years. Last year our beloved pitbull passed away late at night at home. We took his body the next day to VCA and signed paperwork to have him a privately cremation and I purchased something elsewhere to put his ashes in. Sometime passed and we did not get a phone call to pick up his private remains so we called the office. To our shocking dismay our dog’s cremation was not handled the way we signed for. Instead of honoring our cremation wishes and cremating him privately, VCA had him publicly cremated. We called the crematory place ourselves because the office did nothing for us. The crematorium received paperwork from VCA saying that it was a public cremation. However, they were wrong. It was most indeed private as we had the paperwork and we signed for a private cremation. I asked if I could get some of my dog’s remains mixed with whatever he was cremated with and I was told they could not honor that request. Why? His ashes were dumped in one of many fields and they didn’t know where and the other ashes went out to see with other pets public remains. Ouch! That was absolutely sickening and devastating to hear. When we called VCA back, the office manager told us that we were correct it was suppose to be private. First, she told us that the computer had some sort of computer glitch and somehow the PC changed the drop-down menu to public rather than private. Im not certain how that happens then she went on to say someone who was entering the information on the pc wasn’t paying attention and typed in the wrong info. Then she went on to say that the tag on his body got changed or someone tagged it incorrectly. So it sounded like its fair to say she didn’t know what happened and this office that she runs runs in an unknown manner.. How an office manager would not not know what happened is unsettling. We were devastated traumatized and upset. She had the audacity to tell us that she was the victim, not us. Why? Because she didn’t wanna hear us complain cry and yell. Wow! Unacceptable. We never got a sympathy card or even a call from our personal vet at VCA we knew for decades. Heartless. It was clear that my dog was just a file there and a pay check and our dogs remains they clearly didn't care about. We wished we had something to hold onto, but instead, we have nothing. Please do not mock me with some ridiculous response, call corporate, etc. because you guys really don’t care that’s quite evident after trying to get through to a number of people you just don’t care. We were so upset and twisted thinking about how our dogs body was handled there it was very painful to write a review. We think of him every day and how his body was mishandled. And thanks to you guys, we have absolutely nothing left of him as those ashes were important to us. You staff truly is the most non-compassionate crew of workers we have ever encountered. Knowing how his final moments were handled makes us sick and we get to live with this horror everyday. I would never want anyone have to experience what we went through. Think twice before you trust this place with your dog or cat’s care because if you choose to leave his body there to cremate this could happen to you. You would think they would have some kind of process to prevent such an error because this was preventable and it was not a little tiny mistake. If I could have given your facility one star I would. Thanks again to whoever made such a grave mistake there. I truly hope they can live with the themselves knowing the heartache you have caused to this family. To anyone interested in using the VCA, go elsewhere, clearly they are not responsible enough to give you your dogs remains back you had requested, can you imagine if this was your pet and if they happened to you? Im sure you can’t imagine it at all.
Mar 26, 2025 · Maria ALast Sunday I lost my 17 yr old dog from old age. As much as it was upsetting, she had an amazing 17 yrs. On Tuesday evening my other dog had diarrhea. I didn’t think anything of it just that maybe the little bit of can food I gave her with her dry that I had left over from Babygirl may have bothered her stomach. Wednesday I made her chicken and rice. Her demeanor was her usual happy self and she ate with no hesitation. 3:00 Thursday morning they woke me up like they usually do to go out and my den looked like a murder scene (thank goodness for ceramic tile). Not to be gross but she she was pooping straight blood. In a panic because I’m financially trying to get back together after a bad divorce I put her in the car in a snowy mess and went to Farmingville animal hospital. I was so upset and the ladies at the desk asked if I could come back in an hour instead of turning me away. I did and when I tell you these people are amazing I can’t say it enough!! It ended up being a combination of a bacterial thing and her actually missing her friend that had just passed. They gave her a shot and sent me home with meds and within 2 days my Skylar is fine. I will be forever grateful to the staff in not turning me away and taking care of my little girl. ❤️ THANK YOU!!! ❤️
Feb 12, 2025 · ts smytheThis is our go-to for our cats, both regular and sometimes irregular visits. They’re pretty good with handling pets and only once did we have a hiccup - delay in getting blood work done. Overall they’ve been plenty helpful. I only wish they’d have the capacity for more emergencies. Our girls like to get in to trouble…
