Why is SoCal Animal Hospital worth choosing for your pet’s care? The decision to trust a veterinary clinic with your pet's health is a serious one, and it's essential to consider the full picture. Our public information indicates a clinic with a wide range of services, including specialized care for canine reproduction, which is not available everywhere. We also make an effort to be accessible to all clients by welcoming walk-ins and having wheelchair-accessible facilities. Our veteran-owned status suggests a foundation of discipline and integrity.
However, public data also includes reviews that express concerns about the patient experience, specifically long wait times and issues related to specific types of animal care. One review notes a two-hour wait for a short visit and a feeling that appointments are overbooked. Another review expresses significant disappointment with a lack of expertise in reptile care, leading to an unnecessary surgery and a stressful experience for the pet. These reviews suggest that while the clinic may offer a broad range of services, the execution of some of those services and the overall client experience may vary.
Choosing a veterinary clinic is a personal decision, and it’s important to weigh all available information. SoCal Animal Hospital provides a wide array of services in an accessible location and welcomes walk-ins. For dog and cat owners seeking core care, surgery, or specialized reproductive services, the clinic may be a viable option. For owners of more exotic pets, it may be advisable to seek out a specialist with more extensive experience in that field. We are committed to providing care for a wide range of needs and encourage potential clients to consider their specific situation when choosing the right veterinary partner for their pet.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Disappointing Experience – Not Recommended for Reptile CareMy experience with SoCal Animal Hospital was disappointing and concerning. If you have a reptile, I don’t recommend bringing them here—they simply don’t seem experienced enough. My leopard gecko had a cloudy eye and stopped eating. After being unable to get an appointment with reputable reptile vets, I took a chance on this hospital. That decision is one I deeply regret.I was seen nearly two hours after my scheduled time, which didn’t bother me, and the staff was kind. However, the vet informed me she was the only one handling exotics and had just two years of experience. She quickly suggested abscesses around his head and pushed for surgery, even though her exam was minimal and she struggled to check his mouth. I raised concerns and asked if it could be swelling or something else—she insisted it was abscesses. The next day, they performed the surgery. Post-op, they told me there were no abscesses at all. Instead, they found a foreign object lodged in his mouth causing the swelling and eating issues. This could’ve been found with a more thorough exam and saved my gecko from unnecessary surgery, pain, meds, and recovery. What was most upsetting—no apology, no accountability. Both sides of his head were cut unnecessarily. They offered a small discount but still charged me $457.74, claiming they used a scalpel so the surgery still “counted.”I’m now forced to medicate a stressed gecko for weeks due to a mistake that could’ve been avoided with better care and experience. I’m sharing this to help other reptile owners avoid the same situation.
August 05 · Lori WilliamsMy experience with SoCal animal hospital was less than subpar. I brought my cat in for an eye rash and thought I was doing good in scheduling an appointment, but it seems they don’t honor appointment times here. The exam room was freezing and the vet tech assured me that the Vet would “be right with me”. I waited over an hour for less than a 10 minute visit. It seems they are either short staffed or scheduling more appointments than they can manage. Management needs to step it up and communicate to staff that pet parents would rather be told the truth upfront than something they think we’d like to hear, as to set our expectation for the experience. I do not recommend this place based on my experience. It appeared dirty and as though it had not been cleaned in a while on top of everything else.
June 25 · Iliana MagallonI made multiple calls to set up an appointment for a travel health certificate. The day of the appointment the veterinarian told us she couldn’t do it properly and left us no option with a day left to travel. They were about to charge me $2400 for one piece of paper. I had to go to Riverside Animal Hospital instead and paid $1200 (exorbitant but half of what I was told it would be). My wife and I called multiple times to make sure the appointment would be made for the proper time, since it has to be no more than 5 days before traveling. The veterinarian was rude, uninformed, flustered, and disrespectful of my wife, myself, and our cats. I would not recommend them.
March 26 · Derek CalaveraI love this place. I travel 45 minutes for every vet visit & it’s worth it. Staff is very kind and helpful. They take the time to explain things about your pet and make an extra effort to show that they care. Reasonable prices too! A Vet, I can actually afford.
March 07 · T GI’ve given this vet clinic multiple chances over the past years to help with my dog’s ongoing allergy issues, but unfortunately, my experience has been consistently disappointing. Every visit cost well over $500, and despite spending thousands, there was little to no improvement in my dog’s condition. The staff never came across as particularly caring or attentive, and everything—from tests to medications—felt outrageously overpriced.Appointments are another issue. Even with a scheduled time, I often waited hours. One visit lasted over five hours, which is unacceptable when you’ve booked in advance.I finally decided to try another local vet, and I’m so glad I did. They identified the allergy issue on the first visit and treated my dog with genuine care and professionalism. I wish I had made the switch sooner. I can’t recommend this clinic based on my experience.
