Southeast Animal Eye Specialists Introduce
For pet owners across Georgia, securing the best possible health care for their beloved companions often means seeking specialized expertise. Southeast Animal Eye Specialists in Newnan, GA, fills a critical role in the regional Animal Care landscape by offering advanced, dedicated veterinary ophthalmology. This clinic is not a general practice but a specialist center focused exclusively on diagnosing and treating diseases and injuries of the animal eye, working closely with local Referring Veterinarians to provide tertiary care.
The practice is led by a board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist, Dr. Storey, who brings extensive experience and specialized training in areas like retinal diseases and vitreoretinal surgery. This level of specialization means pets facing complex eye issues—such as cataracts, glaucoma, or severe corneal ulcers—can receive sophisticated Diagnostic Procedures and Surgical Procedures right here in Newnan. The clinic prides itself on utilizing up-to-date equipment and advanced techniques to ensure the best possible visual outcomes and comfort for pets.
The focus here is on complex, specialized care that often requires specific equipment and expertise beyond the scope of a standard Family Vet. This includes intricate surgeries and procedures like phacoemulsification for cataracts and various forms of Laser Therapy for conditions like glaucoma. Because the clinic manages highly sensitive and often emergency cases, they emphasize that Appointments recommended is their standard policy, with booking typically running a week or two in advance. Emergency appointments may be available for urgent matters, often involving additional fees.
Local users seeking this specialized level of Health Support should be prepared for a specialist environment. The clinic requests that clients bring all current eye and other medications to every visit, and they strive to offer clear medication management support. While the medical expertise is frequently highly praised—with customers expressing they are "Very thankful for Dr. Storey!" and that their pet's eyesight was restored—the nature of specialty practice often involves higher costs. Furthermore, some reviews indicate that coordinating prescriptions and getting written treatment plans can, at times, be challenging, highlighting the importance of clear communication with the front office regarding complex post-operative instructions for multiple eye drops. Prospective clients should note that open communication and diligence are key to managing treatment plans for complex eye conditions.

What is Worth Choosing
For pet owners in Georgia facing a serious or complex eye condition with their dog or cat, choosing Southeast Animal Eye Specialists is choosing a level of dedicated, expert care that is often unavailable at a general practice. The primary reason for selecting this clinic is the presence of a board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist. This specialization translates directly into superior diagnostic accuracy and advanced treatment options, particularly in areas like cataract and glaucoma management, where high-tech Laser Therapy and precision Eye Procedures can truly save a pet's vision or dramatically improve their quality of life.
Customers consistently highlight the clinic's success in managing challenging cases, demonstrating that the investment is worthwhile for restoring sight or resolving painful, chronic conditions. While the cost is significant—as reflected in client feedback about the price of surgery and follow-up medication—this is often the necessary reality of highly specialized Surgical And Diagnostic services. Local users should enter the process with the understanding that complex care requires patience, adherence to detailed, multi-step medication plans, and clear communication with the dedicated team. For pets with serious vision-threatening illnesses, the expert knowledge and advanced equipment at this Newnan specialist center make it the superior choice for Caring For Pets' most delicate sensory organ.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1- Very thankful for Dr. Storey! He helped my Shih tzu, Zoie’s eye that had an ulcer on it. February 12 · Leslie Rodgers
- Be aware of any “company” that has handwritten prices on their books. They intentionally hide their prices from customers. I have contacted my bank and will be moving forward with legal proceedings against this company for extortion. Dr. Story has a serious problem with his ability to provide the order which each medication should be given. I was told I needed to put my animal on multiple eye medications throughout the day in different doses. It took over 2 weeks before that email was sent. Instead of sending a basic numbered list for the different combinations of orders to administer the multiple eye drops I was bombard with random handwritten text pictures and PDF images from the front office. It took me to literally explain multiple times I am only requesting an email that should take about 1 minute to list the different order of prescriptions as they continued to change in the day. Dr. Story seemed to be unaware of what phone calls his office staff is making regarding information. Between not being provided with a written copy of the different orders of eye drops on Monday 12/09/24 the front office completely changed or ignored directions by the vet on other issues. I will upload the email I received today from Dr. Story demanding an unknown amount of money in exchange for receiving the “eye tests results” from that appointment in which he also informed me that he changed his mind about his own treatment analysis and he is no longer interested in treating my dogs eye. Which I have no problem with going elsewhere. His inability to have written instructions on medications he is claiming to be used in different orders is concerning. I would be very concerned about his lack of accountability for what has occurred in his office and how it affects his ability to do his job properly. I am just thankful that my dog did not get hurt or receive further damage from this business because apparently other reviews show missing eyes and animals crying in pain because of him. - Wonderful facility! Dr. Storey was able to get us in quickly for an urgent matter. The staff was very kind and caring, Dr. Storey explained everything in the room. Later on I received a follow-up call. July 12 · Kasey Gaydosh
- So thankful that there is a caring and qualified animal eye specialist in this area, not in Atlanta or Marietta! Our little girl kitten, Missy, that some troll threw out on the roadside, developed an eye infection and ulcerated after we rescued her from the road. She has to have the eye removed. The staff and the vet are wonderful. He thoroughly took time to explain the situation and how it could affect her if the eye weren't removed. If you have a pet family member that needs eye treatment, run, don't walk, to these great and caring and excellenty qualified animal lovers! September 27 · Steve Stewart
- Pros & Cons: pros- close to the house, nice staff and seemingly competent doctor. Con: expect to spend the entire day here. Don’t keep appointment times. Very slow service. Expensive. Time is important to everyone and it’s a commodity you can’t buy more of. It should be respected more. October 16 · Julie Stephens
