Choosing a veterinarian is a deeply personal decision, and it is crucial to find a clinic whose philosophy aligns with your own. For pet owners in South Carolina seeking a clinic that offers comprehensive, technology-driven care with a focus on empathy, Southern Trail Animal Clinic is a strong contender. The positive review from a grieving owner speaks to the clinic's ability to handle the most emotional moments with professionalism and grace. That level of support can make an immeasurable difference.
However, it is also important to consider the experience of every customer. Another owner's review of a rushed appointment and a lack of direct communication highlights a potential area where the clinic's approach may not suit everyone. This feedback points to the importance of clear communication and building a trusting relationship with your veterinarian. The contrast in reviews suggests that while the clinic is capable of offering compassionate and expert care, the individual experience may vary. For pet owners who prioritize detailed, one-on-one discussions and a thorough, unhurried diagnostic process, it is wise to be prepared to ask questions and seek clarity. For those who can appreciate the clinic's focus on advanced technology and its ability to accommodate urgent appointments, Southern Trail Animal Clinic remains a viable and valuable option in the Easley community, especially for those who need a wide range of services under a single roof.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I just want to say how wonderful and compassionate the staff was with my precious Buster and to me. I needed a same day appointment and they were able to get my fur baby in at 3:30pm on Friday, June 6th. Although my heart is crushed after having to say goodbye to my Buster after 14 loving years with him, I am beyond grateful for the support, care, and compassion the entire staff showed and for the time they allowed me to have with him to say goodbye. I will be recommending this wonderful place to everyone who has fur babies. Again, THANK YOU SO VERY VERY MUCH!With Love, Anita and precious Buster❤️
June 09 · Camaro ChicI brought my dog, Lu, to this clinic after she injured herself trying to jump on the couch. She's a 7-year-old rescue who has likely had symptoms of IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease) for years. Unfortunately, our experience here was deeply disappointing. The vet spent maybe five minutes with Lu, gave me a thick packet on IVDD, three prescriptions, and little else. There was no meaningful discussion about her condition, prognosis, or quality of life. I left confused and overwhelmed, without the compassionate guidance I was hoping for.Since that visit, Lu’s symptoms have worsened dramatically, and I now understand how serious her condition may be. What I needed was a vet willing to take time with us and help me think through her care and comfort, not a rushed appointment and a pile of paperwork.I'm now seeking a second opinion from a clinic that treats both animals and their humans with more time, care, and empathy.Follow-Up!Unfortunately, I did not feel my dog received the thorough or compassionate care she deserved here. The evaluation felt rushed, and I left with more uncertainty than clarity. I ended up seeking a second opinion from another veterinarian who took more time, asked better questions, and gave us a more hopeful and accurate understanding of my dog’s condition.I’m relieved I trusted my instincts and got another perspective. I hope this clinic takes feedback seriously and improves the quality of care moving forward. Also,I’m incredibly relieved I trusted my gut and didn’t waste any more money at Southern Trails Animal Clinic. Their response to my honest review only confirmed the lack of compassion and communication we experienced. The veterinarian didn’t explain anything directly to me, instead, a vet tech handed me a packet full of bad news about a diagnosis Lu didn’t actually have. They jumped to conclusions without proper testing or discussion.Southern Trails Animal Clinic never talked about any follow-up visits or medication needs. I was left confused and unsupported.Because I was worried, I got the earliest first opinion I could at Southern Trails, and then immediately sought the earliest second opinion available. The second vet actually took the time to listen, performed an X-ray (which Southern Trails never mentioned), and gave Lu a completely different, and more accurate, diagnosis.I also can’t afford CT or MRI scans for myself, and Lu’s new vet understands that. They’re compassionate, flexible, and communicate clearly, something I desperately needed.I’m so thankful I acted quickly. Lu deserves better care, and honestly, all our pets do.
July 16 · Lisa BlackstoneI was so pleased with my experience at Southern Trails Animal Clinic! The staff were incredibly friendly and understanding. They loved on my sweet puppy by getting in the floor with her, hugging her for a minute to make her comfortable, and giving her treats. When explaining information, the staff did an amazing job making sure I understood the content of the discussion while being understanding about price point and not pushy with decisions. The clinic was incredibly clean and organized! We will for sure be back!!
June 24 · Lindsey McalisterMy husband and I brought our 2 dogs Finn & Oliver to Southern Trail Animal Clinic as soon as they opened! The clinic is super clean, modern, and feels so cozy! ALL the staff are SO friendly, patient, and clearly love what they do. My dogs have always received top notch care by Dr. Eaves & Dr. Fernandez and it’s such a good feeling knowing my doggies will always be safe there! 🐶🫶🏼 would leave more than 5 stars if I could!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
June 09 · Jordan FrancisI took my cat there for the first time, but I will not be bringing her back there for several reasons. FIRST, one of the reasons I brought her in was that she sometimes dribbles from her rear. The vet didn't think it was her anal glands, but he didn't give an alternative suggestion. Why couldn't they have just checked because now I am going to have to pay for trip to another vet. SECOND, she was supposed to get a one year rabies shot and they gave her a 3 year shot and charged me for the more expensive 3 year shot. THIRD, they took my cat to the back to give her the vaccines. It would have been less traumatic for her if they had done the vaccines in the room with me there. FOURTH, the vet that examined my cat has a very loud booming voice and needs to lower his voice by a couple of decibels. I am sure he scares a lot of pets with his very loud voice in the incredibly tiny exam room. FIFTH, they should let you know when you make the appointment that they charge a $4.90 admin fee to use a credit card, so you know to bring cash or your checkbook.
