Spay Spot Reviews
Very nice place! A very great experience! I arrived a bit early for drop off, they let me wait in the lobby area until they open since it was extremely cold outside and me and my baby, Onyx were both freezing and shivering. Drop off was from 7:30am-8:30amOnce they opened the process was quick and efficient and they got her in as soon as they opened. Waited in the lobby for about 3-4 hours and all the staff were understanding of my situation since I Uber’d there and couldn’t drop off and leave, they allowed me to wait inside until her pick up time. Pick up was at 11:30am and they called me from the lobby to get her.Top of the line care for you and your pet and very affordable. I was able to get her chipped as well for only $25. I definitely recommend applying for the Spay-A-Day application, which is what I did and had her services done for free. You do have to pay for an E-Collar, but I opted out because I got my baby a jumpsuit. She is home and recovering well! No complications with her surgery.Thank you all! This was a great experience for us both!
Oct 28, 2024 · Stephanie Gibbs5 paws up for this affordable Spay clinic 🐾! There was a 1-2 month waiting period for an appointment, but that is to be expected for affordability. $145 in total for 2 days worth of pain medication + the surgery; pretty affordable compared to other places. I was slightly worried due to how recent the reviews were, but surgery was fast and I was able to pick her up in 2-3 hours. Everything was a smooth process from the front desk clerk answering all questions to email/phone reminders of my appointment. Drove 1 hour to get here but it was all worth it in the end. Such a great experience I donated my spay change to the shelter!
Oct 21, 2024 · Tracey TonMy experience with my kitty cat, Luna, was excellent. Dr. Schmidt did a beautiful job with the incision and stitches. Luna made a quick recovery, with no complications at all. Office management staff was very professional. Very reasonable pricing. Only bad thing was the parking. There’s not enough.
Feb 17, 2025 · Don RudyI had recently inherited four kittens, none of whom I expected to have or had been altered. Last week, they reached the age to be altered and so I brought them to the Spay Spot where all four were altered (three spay and one neuter). Not only that, but the final price for the alterations was significantly lower than the chain veterinarian practice located within PetSmart (who shall not be named). As a shout out to the surgery team, I want to thank the veterinarian and her technician who came out to talk to me about the kittens and how to care for them. They also took the time to answer my questions about best practices to keep them from causing issues with their own, and each others', stitches.I cannot speak for other reviewers' experiences, but I can say that if I ever have need for more veterinarian care, I would definitely bring them to this clinic.
Jan 21, 2025 · First NameDo not get your animals spayed at this clinic! This clinic is partnered with PG county shelter. As a rescue representative, I am in communication with other rescues that have had spays and neuters done here because they have pulled from the shelter. This clinic has botched multiple spays, almost killing a number of the dogs getting spayed in the care of rescues as a result of internal bleeding. The dogs with botched spays still in the care of the shelter are left to suffer and die because they do not do their due diligence. Most recently, a foster for the shelter had a dog named Galena. Galena had her spay done here, sutures were open and tissue was falling out of the opening. The foster could not get in contact with anyone at the shelter to help address this medical concern. They reached out to an affiliated rescue where the rescue had Galena seen at an emergency vet. The bill was upwards of $1000 before PG county shelter stepped in and said there had been “much ado about nothing.” The shelter refused to pay for the care rendered, leaving the rescue with the bill. Galena was moved back to the shelter to have her sutures redone. She was there for 5 days, hiding under her bed in her kennel, before being released back to her foster. Galena was weak and unsteady at pick up. By the time the foster got Galena back to her home, Galena was dead in her kennel. This unacceptable medical care from these spays is a common tale and cannot be allowed to continue.Do not trust this clinic.
