★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1- The StL Cat Clinic was the first vet to diagnose my cat, Jack White, with diabetes after years of health and behaviour struggles. That alone solidified my commitment to them. The care we received for the next several years through the end of his life was exceptional. I strongly believe it is because of the Cat Clinic that he lived to nearly 17 years, healthy and happy. In the end, age and the health issues became insurmountable. But he had a wonderful life thanks in no small part to the care we received with the St. Louis Cat Clinic. - Dr. White and my vet tech, Evan, have been so helpful to me and have helped me be informed through my cat's sickness. They offer everything they can to help and make sure you understand what's going on. They have been especially caring toward my cat Alfred and I am very appreciative of their care with him. The whole staff is very helpful and they have been quick to communicate with me when needed. Wonderful staff, great communication. I recommend them to people with cats in their family. - This was my first visit and I am so very happy I found Dr. Howard. She was thorough, positive, and so incredibly knowledgeable. She was patient, took the time to answer my questions, and I left there have a clear understanding of my pets medical needs. I would highly recommend St. Louis Cat Clinic to everyone with a Fur-Baby. - I booked an appointment for my cat Raphaelle some odd weeks ago to get his yearly check-up, vaccines, and a couple of other things. My appointment was scheduled for 4:30 PM. I arrived around 4:20 or so. Around 4:50 PM, a tech comes to speak to me and let's me know an appointment ran over and a different doctor would be seeing my pet. I thanked her for letting me know and told her no problem. It was our first visit, so I'm not attached to any particular doctor. Roughly five minutes later, the receptionist tells me both doctors are busy and I would be waiting an additional 20 minutes or they could re-book me for another time. I opted to not wait nor reschedule and just go to another vet clinic. I paid the required $20 deposit and requested a refund, to which the receptionist quickly obliged. The system they used charged me, the client, a fee of $1.00 and some change for the refund, so I ended up losing money on an appointment I showed up for on time and wouldn't be seen for. This is the most unprofessional veterinary experience I have ever had. What they don't know is, I used PTO to leave my job at a certain time, go home, pick Raphi up, and make it to his appointment on time. ON TIME. What I know is that you will lose your deposit if you don't call them to cancel within 24 hours. However, there is no remedy for the client who is on time and expected to wait 40 to 50 min for their scheduled appointment. The clinic is clean, nice, no smell, and the staff is friendly. The receptionist is wonderful, friendly, offered me a bottle of water when I came in, and was very apologetic when everything went down. The vet tech was friendly, kind, and explained to me what was going on. The non-veterinarian staff is top-notch. However, the veterinarian who came to the front while I was getting my refund, was none of those things. No apology, no hello, no nothing. As a matter of fact, she interrupted the receptionist who was processing my refund to ask if the receptionist sent records for another client's cat, and walked off.I'm highly disappointed in this experience. I would hope the owner of the clinic would be disappointed in it, too. I'm sure one of the vets owns this clinic and cares at least a little bit. If it was the veterinarian who ignored me, I'm sure she doesn't. May 02 · Tearene H
- First of all, I will say that all of the staff we have had experiences with have been absolutely lovely. The technicians and veterinarians have been gentle and understanding with my nervous cat, and are great about listening to our concerns about his complicated medical history. I feel as if they truly took their time during his exam to feel everything out and explore every avenue and that the veterinarian and technician were receptive to our comments and feedback. We trust these professionals entirely with our cat’s health. The only reason why I am reviewing as 4 start instead of 5 is because today is now the 2nd time since establishing care at the very end of May (it is now mid-June) we have been inconvenienced due to clerical errors… I come from a background in veterinary medicine and currently work in an administrative assistant/CSR/clerical role, so I absolutely understand how fast-paced things can be and that you are often under-staffed and over-booked. But first we had a prescription canceled because my partner was not added as my cat’s secondary owner despite that being present on his paperwork, which I had to take time out of my work day to rectify, and then there was this morning.I received a text reminder earlier this week asking me to confirm my cat’s 8am drop off appointment… I originally had it as 9am in my personal calendar, but assumed I made a mistake so I rearranged my morning to accommodate 8am drop off and confirmed the 8am appointment.I got there 10 minutes early as I try to do for all appointments… doors are locked. Oh well, I’m early, I’ll wait… checked again at 7:55, doors are still locked. And still locked at 8, 8:05, 8:10…I ended up calling the office to leave a couple messages throughout this process just to keep them filled in because at this point I’m not even sure when my cat’s correct appointment time is, and headed back home instead of keeping my cat stressed out in the car for an unknown period of time. This isn’t the biggest problem in the world, however, I would hope that in a clerical role one would go out of their way to ensure that clients are scheduled appropriately or at least are called ahead of time if appointments change. It is almost 9am now and I still have yet to hear back from the clinic. I have had to cancel my own doctor’s appt that I had already rescheduled to accommodate 8am drop off instead of 9am drop off…As I said, the staff is lovely. But overlooking mistakes/details like this can suck for the clients. I’m not trying to be difficult, there just needs to be a bit more precision and attention to detail here to avoid inconveniencing the client. We will continue to go to this clinic because I truly trust them with our cat and feel that their expertise is unparalleled locally, I just also really hope that we don’t experience anything like this again.Update: They called… and the person I spoke to said yes the appointment is at 9, just the way their software works it told me 8 because my cat was marked at a drop off. I asked if it was always going to give me an incorrect time like this and she kinda explained the same thing and said it was a technical error. In my reception/clerical position, I just would have been… more apologetic? Less sharp? I don’t know. The way the phone call was conducted didn’t sit well with me. She apologized for the mix up at the end of the call before we got off. I’ve just worked in customer service for a very long time and this isn’t how I would have handled that call. When I got to the clinic, a different woman was at the reception area and she was wonderful. She apologized for the inconvenience, explained that normally the software asks drop off to begin at 8:30 but someone had changed it to 8. She let me know that they are following up with staff to find out who changed the listed time without giving notice to anyone else and had me send her a screenshot of the text I received as proof to help her advocate. She was much nicer than who I talked to on the phone. June 20 · Jill C
