I brought my dog here because he was dying. My dog was not eating and was severely dehydrated, we didn’t know the reason, I rushed him to an ER in Houston and I couldn’t afford what needed to be done to him at the ER so they recommended I take him here, the doctor at the ER spoke to the receptionist at summit vet and stated to her everything that needed to be done to my dog ex. Ultrasound, bloodwork, iv overnight etc. I brought him in right before they were closing, My dog was kept overnight at Summit. They called me in the morning stating my dog was fine and was eating again and I could bring him home I payed about $600 to be kept overnight and have him on iv fluids. As soon as I got him home I tried to feed him and again he was not eating not drinking water so first thing in the morning I called Summit and told them that he was not eating and wanted to know what they found in his bloodwork and the receptionist stated that there was no bloodwork done no testing at all. I was livid, and asked to speak to the doctor and was told the doctor would call me back so I waited and when she finally called me back I asked why there was no testing done and she couldn’t provide me an answer she told me to take my dog back overnight and they would do testing, so me being super desperate I took him back, they did testing and according to them there was nothing wrong but he still wasn’t eating or drinking water so they kept him for about a week and kept him on fluids. Little by little he was starting to eat again and he was fine for a bout two weeks when again he stopped eating, I called the vet again to try to make him another appointment and the receptionist told me there was no appointments available for the next 2 weeks, I stated it was an emergency and asked for speak to the doctor. The doctor finally called me back and told me that she would no longer treat my dog, they don’t know what’s wrong and that there’s nothing they could do. I though the whole time the doctor was very unprofessional I could tell she only cared about the money being payed to her and not my dog. She stated I had to take my dog to his regular vet, we had just moved to Houston from Colorado so his regular vet is in Colorado which we told her this but she didn’t care. We took my dog to 3 vets here in Houston and all the vets stated that since they treated my dog at summit that it would be best to bring him back to summit but the doctor refused to see him. Finally I found a vet in college station that would see my baby it was Southwood valley hospital, they are amazing they figured out what was wrong with my baby at first look of the bloodwork done at Summit, they couldn’t believe the doctor at Southwood missed everything. So please don’t bring your dog here I spent almost $1,500 for nothing at this vet, they were going to let my baby die! - Galen Pineda
