The Vet On Broadway Introduce
When a pet emergency strikes, finding a veterinarian who is both immediately available and trustworthy is a top priority for any pet owner. For residents of Tyler, Texas, and the surrounding East Texas region, The Vet On Broadway is a veterinary clinic that specializes in emergency and walk-in services. This article provides a comprehensive overview of this clinic, detailing its location, services, and key features that make it a go-to resource for urgent pet care. The Vet On Broadway prides itself on a compassionate approach and transparent communication, aiming to provide peace of mind during stressful times.
The clinic’s philosophy is centered on accessibility and clear communication, two factors that are crucial in emergency veterinary care. They understand that a pet crisis can be overwhelming, especially for those on a tight budget or without an established veterinarian. As one customer review highlights, they were seeking a walk-in clinic on a Saturday and were concerned about "emergency priced bills." The review praised The Vet On Broadway for taking their dog in immediately, providing "broken down prices of everything," and making recommendations without pressure. This transparent and non-coercive approach is a significant highlight, especially for those who need to make quick, informed decisions about their pet's health. The review also noted the staff’s kindness and dedication, as they "loved on my dog before doing anything," which speaks volumes about their compassionate and empathetic nature.
However, it is important to acknowledge that customer experiences can vary. Another review expresses significant dissatisfaction, citing "excessive charges for unrelated issues" and a feeling of "coercion." This client felt they were charged for unnecessary tests and left with a pet still in pain, despite a large bill. The customer's addendum further details their frustration with the lack of communication from the owner regarding what they felt were outrageous charges. This discrepancy in customer experiences highlights the importance of open communication between the clinic and clients, particularly when discussing financial estimates and treatment plans.
The Vet On Broadway, as an emergency veterinarian service, fills a crucial gap in the local pet care ecosystem. While not all veterinarians offer walk-in appointments, their model is designed to provide immediate attention to pets in need. They understand that emergencies don’t wait for a scheduled appointment, and their willingness to see walk-in patients on short notice is a major advantage. This accessibility, combined with their stated commitment to transparent pricing and honest recommendations, can be invaluable for pet owners facing a crisis.
The Vet On Broadway is conveniently located at 113 Market Square Blvd, Tyler, TX 75703. Situated in a prime location, the clinic is easily accessible for residents of Tyler and the surrounding areas. The presence of on-site parking makes it convenient to bring your pet in, especially during an emergency when every second counts.
The clinic is also committed to providing a facility that is accessible to all clients. It features a wheelchair-accessible car park, a wheelchair-accessible entrance, and a wheelchair-accessible toilet. These amenities ensure that all clients, regardless of mobility, can safely and easily bring their pets in for care. The clinic accepts various payment methods, including credit cards, debit cards, and NFC mobile payments, offering flexibility and convenience during a stressful time. While they welcome walk-ins, appointments are also recommended to ensure the most efficient service possible.
Based on its specialization as an emergency veterinarian service, The Vet On Broadway focuses on providing urgent and immediate care. The services would typically include:
Emergency and Walk-in Services: As a primary service, they handle unexpected injuries, sudden illnesses, and other pet emergencies without the need for a prior appointment.
Examinations and Consultations: A thorough examination to diagnose the pet's condition is the first step. They would likely offer diagnostic testing to understand the root cause of the problem.
Diagnostic Testing: This could include various tests such as blood work, x-rays, and other procedures to get a clear picture of the pet’s internal health. While one customer review raised concerns about the necessity of certain tests, the clinic's general purpose is to provide these services to identify potential issues.
Treatment Plans and Prescriptions: Based on the diagnosis, the clinic would provide a recommended treatment plan, which may include medication, pain control, or further procedures. They would provide necessary prescriptions to help your pet recover.
Referrals: In cases where a pet needs highly specialized care that the clinic cannot provide, they would likely offer referrals to other specialists or veterinarians in the area. A customer review praised the clinic for providing "suggestions for the future and an estimate on the suggestions" which could include referrals.
The Vet On Broadway is distinguished by several key features that can be both a benefit and, in some cases, a point of contention for clients.
Walk-in and Emergency Focus: Their ability to take walk-in patients on short notice is a major highlight, especially during a pet emergency. This provides a crucial service that not all clinics offer.
Transparent Pricing (Generally): One review highlights the clinic’s transparency with "broken down prices of everything," which is a significant advantage for budget-conscious pet owners.
Compassionate and Kind Staff: The staff is praised for being "extremely kind" and for showing affection to pets before examinations, which helps to ease the animal's stress.
Convenient Location and Accessibility: The on-site parking and accessible amenities (wheelchair-accessible car park, entrance, and toilet) make the clinic easy to access for all.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I came as a walk in for my 1 year old golden retriever lab that I rescued and saved from Parvo as a broke college student. A lump formed on her abdomen on a Saturday so I looked for any vet that was open fearing that I would have to pay emergency priced bills or be scammed and overpay. THE BEST VET IN EAST TEXAS!!! They took her in as a walk in immediately at 9:30am on a Saturday and we were only there for an hour and a half (not because of their pace but because of testings and procedures on the lump). They were extremely kind and let me know what they highly recommend vs what was a suggestion based on her symptoms. They gave me broken down prices of everything and let me take time to decide before agreeing without pressuring me to hurry or pay for unnecessary things. (My aunt is a vet so I always get her advice on things before agreeing and when I called her, she agreed on everything they recommended which means they really weren’t just trying to get my money). They loved on my dog before doing anything or taking her to get tests and communicated with me through the whole thing. At the end of our walk in appointment, they gave me suggestions for the future and an estimate on the suggestions and I really appreciated that so that I could go home and compare prices around town (I’m a broke college student so every penny counts). 10/10 highly recommend!!
June 24 · Shelbee WalkerI had our dog, Bandit, taken to the vet (I am post surgery and couldn't take him myself). I made the appointment due to issues with swelling in the scrotum area that needed treatment. A reasonable person would expect an exam charge and a prescription 🆚 duress! Coercion was used saying an estimate (contract) had to be signed before being seen with excessive charges for unrelated issues. Again, this should have been and exam and prescription. The outrageous estimate was over $500 and no willingness for them to only have services needed. Almost $800 later they advised he might have an allergy to fleas or might have a prostate infection or cancer! Lots of unnecessary tests that had nothing to do with the problem (heartworm testing for a swollen SCROTUM)!? So, we still don't know what's wrong and still have a dog in pain. They have collected their blood money. These people rob you by taking advantage of people who love their pets rather than at gunpoint.Addendum:I have asked the owner to call me for a week.Have you received my messages? I want to speak with the owner regarding the outrageous charges for a simple exam and prescription. I made the appointment so Bandit could get a prescription for the swelling - as you and I know, this is common with elderly dogs that have not been neutered. You advertised exams are $38.00Bandit was given what I believe was probably a Triflectes (not sure of the spelling) which was a $20 charge and an antibiotic. That is hardly a $792 charge. I don't know how you can justify charging my credit card $700 more than the services would merit AND wanted to charge an additional $300 for heartworm prevention! Please correct these charges and contact me by phone, text or email once that has been done.

May 02 · Melissa GruceWe had a bit of an emergency with our cat while we were out of town, and this clinic was such a lifesaver. They squeezed us in the same day, and even though I got dropped off a couple hours early, the sweet front desk lady let us wait in a private room. We were seen quickly, and everyone was so kind and gentle with my cat. They really listened to my concerns and asked good questions instead of rushing me. Our boy is usually a nightmare at the vet, but he was calmer here than I’ve ever seen him. The bill was also way more affordable than I expected, even with two meds. He had to stay overnight for a sample, and I felt totally comfortable leaving him, which says a lot for our first visit. We’re so glad we found this place and will definitely be bringing our other pets here too.
August 24 · Caroline SandlinFirst let’s talk about how nice and welcoming the environment is. Our puppy didn’t feel nervous at all. The staff were super nice and speedy. Normally we sit at the vet for hours. We literally walked in at our appointment time and was taken right to a room. The vet was in in like 2 minutes after waiting! They were very knowledgeable and checked for things our other vet never ever mentioned! We’re now transferring our other dog here because of how smooth everything went!
