When it comes to your pet's health, having a trusted partner for emergencies is invaluable. Tri-State Animal ER offers a compelling combination of specialized services, accessibility, and a comprehensive approach to pet care that extends beyond just the medical emergency itself. Their focus on urgent care ensures that they are equipped and ready to handle critical cases, which is what matters most when your pet is in distress. The availability of 24/7 emergency services provides a much-needed safety net for pet owners throughout the region, offering a place to turn when a regular clinic is closed.
The compassionate care provided for both pets and their owners is a significant factor in their value to the community. The staff's dedication to providing a friendly and helpful environment, even in stressful situations, can make a significant difference. One pet owner noted how the staff's kindness made them "feel 10x better" about leaving their pet for an overnight stay. This human element is often as important as the medical care itself, as it provides comfort and reassurance during a difficult time.
However, it's also important to consider all perspectives. Another pet owner shared a deeply painful experience, citing a communication breakdown and the tragic outcome of their pet's care. This review serves as a powerful reminder that every medical situation is unique and outcomes can vary. It also highlights the emotional weight of a pet's health and the profound bond between an animal and its owner. While every business strives for positive outcomes, the reality of emergency medicine is complex. It's a field where decisions must be made quickly under pressure, and unfortunately, not every story has a happy ending.
Despite the varied experiences, the existence of a dedicated emergency veterinary clinic like Tri-State Animal ER is a necessity for a large geographical area like West Virginia. It fills a critical void in the healthcare ecosystem for animals, providing a resource that simply isn't available from regular veterinarians after hours. For pet owners in the Tri-State region, knowing that there's a place equipped to handle a sudden crisis is a source of immense relief. The comprehensive services, from emergency care to dignified end-of-life options, make it a full-service partner for pet owners navigating the most challenging moments. Ultimately, the presence of Tri-State Animal ER is a vital asset, offering professional care when it is needed most.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Our girl had to be hospitalized for two days there. The staff was so friendly and helpful. It made us feel 10x better about having her stay the night. I wish I got the names of everyone who helped our little girl, but I hope they see this and know that we are so thankful for you all! 🥰
July 03 · Jalen PThey lied to me after said Stormie will be fine and took her home with me then an hour later, she ended up passing away in my arms. If I were you, I’d bring my fur babies to other vets than this place killed my fur baby girl Stormie. I’d never forget that experience I ever had. Protect your fur babies from this killer place!
August 25 · Jennifer ClarkeMy dog was directed here for overnight observation by her vet directly following an emergency surgery for pyrometra. I was extremely dissatisfied and angered by the care my dog received. We were told by our vet that directed us the staff at the emergency hospital would come out and carry my dog in as she had been in surgery only a hour prior. We went straight there after surgery, as it was very late into the day. When we arrived my mother went in and told them we had arrived while I stayed with my dog in the car. They crassly told her to walk her in on a lease. My mother explained that she was freshly out of surgery, and they said someone would be out to get my dog.Fifty minutes passed before someone came, and that was only after my mother had to go and inquire when someone was coming. By that point the initial surgical medication had began to wear off and my dog was getting antsy. The male technician gave a few plastic pleasantries but when my dog, skidish and scared, jumped from the back to the front seat, he went in and got a vet lead (one that did not inquire a collar, and was a simple loop), and drug my dog from the car, saying if she was agile enough to jump to the front seat she was well enough to walk in.Once inside, he led her to the back, now fully traumatized. He went over the initial paperwork, told me I could call and check in on her, and relayed pick up time — all while I had sit there and listen to my dog, who was separated from me by a door and heard my voice, cry for me. I told him I assured we would be there as soon as possible.I will never, ever take any animal of mine to this establishment again. If I had the medical knowledge to care for the IV and as directed I would have taken her home. This place should not even be in business.
June 17 · Nicole MillerWish there was another place to take our pets. My dog had to stay overnight for care over the weekend. Picked him up and he wreaked of urine, with yellow fur, and was absolutely shaking all over terrified. He's been overnight at his regular vet and was not this way when u picked him up. Very upsetting as he is now a different dog because of how he was treated there. So very sad this is the only place we have in an emergency. The staff there talk to you and answer the phones like they hate their life. Makes me sick to think I ever have to take him here again.
June 17 · Ashlee CallihanI had to bring my pup into the ER on Monday for what i suspected was parvo. They were not very receptive and seemed annoyed by my arrival. The door said they were open till 8 but they told me they were closing at 7. They began the process by quoting me a near on $800 starting price. I almost felt like they were trying to scare me off. They did test him and gave him a shot but then told me I needed to take him elsewhere because they were trying to close up for the day. I took him to another clinic where we were treated great. I wouldn't recommend this place myself.
