Tulsa General Veterinary Hospital Introduce
Finding the right **Veterinary Care** for your cherished animals is one of the most important decisions a pet owner makes in the Oklahoma region. For many families in the Tulsa area, **Tulsa General Veterinary Hospital** stands out as a reliable and deeply compassionate partner in their pet’s health journey. Led by the experienced and beloved Dr. Gregory A. Prisinzano, affectionately known as Dr. P., this **Animal Hospital** offers a wide range of services designed to cover every stage of a pet’s life, from playful puppyhood to comfortable senior years.
Dr. Prisinzano’s commitment to veterinary medicine began at the age of 16 right in Tulsa, culminating in his graduation from Oklahoma State University with his doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. In 2012, he realized his dream by personally designing and opening Tulsa General Veterinary Hospital with the intent of creating a more home-like and less stressful environment for both clients and their furry patients. This dedication to comfort is tangible, with the clinic decorated with cozy furniture and a warm interior, helping to make every **Vet Visit** a pleasant experience.
The true measure of the hospital is consistently found in the testimonials of its long-term clients. One family, who started coming to the hospital after their former vet retired in 2016, described Dr. P. as a “God send,” highlighting his knowledgeable, gentle, and compassionate care through everything from routine **Check Ups** and **Pet Vaccinations** to necessary **Pet Surgery** and the most difficult goodbye, **Pet Euthanasia**. The professionalism is matched by a genuine personal connection, where clients feel known and welcomed.
What truly sets this veterinary practice apart, and what builds such deep trust within the community, is their approach to financial fairness and support. The same client who praised Dr. P.’s medical skills noted, “Not once have we ever felt like we were being misled or ‘robbed’. Their fees are very reasonable and when we had financial troubles they put the care of our pets first and made payment arrangements with us.” This dedication to putting the pet’s well-being ahead of immediate financial concerns is a core reason why clients **“truly believe in this place”** and recommend it to everyone they know.
Beyond standard medical care, the hospital has also proven to be an invaluable resource for highly specialized needs. A glowing review detailed how Dr. P. and his staff were instrumental in helping a client move their dog, Kane, to Hawaii, a process involving complex regulations and extensive documentation. “We literally couldn’t have done it without them. They were there every step of the way, he did so much research for me and made sure we had all documents in order.” This highlights the exceptional level of personalized service available, demonstrating their capacity to handle unique circumstances like **Dog Traveling** and intricate paperwork.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1- I can’t say enough about Dr. Gregory A. Prisinzano, his office manager/wife, and the rest of his staff. We started coming here around 2016 after our longtime vet retired. It’s hard to find a good doctor for your fur babies. Dr. P. has been a God send to our family and our most cherish pets. He has always been knowledgeable, & gentle and compassionate in their care especially when we have to say goodbye to them. Dr. P. has done our checkups, our vaccines, medical treatments, surgeries and even had to put one of our babies to sleep one last time. And every visit to his office, we have been met with the highest of professionalism but also they know us. We feel welcome, cared for, and we put our trust in them not only with the care of our most beloved pets but we also trust them in the financial aspects. Not once have we ever felt like we were being misled or “robbed”. Their fees are very reasonable and when we had financial troubles they put the care of our pets first and made payment arrangements with us. I truly believe in this place and the doctor and staff! I recommend them to everyone I know. August 18 · wendy lamb
- 5 stars is an understatement. Dr.P and staff helped me move my boy Kane to Hawaii. We literally couldn’t have done it without them. They were there every step of the way, he did so much research for me and made sure we had all documents in order. I will forever be so grateful for them. ❤️🙏🏻 April 30 · Kabrina Brown
- I will never bring another pet here & would recommend any other vet in Tulsa. Dr. Gregory Prisinzano is very efficient, however he was very cold towards us & our dog. He originally diagnosed our dog, Reece, with a neck injury 6 months prior & referred us to see a specialist. We were given a few options by the specialist & we chose to pursue conservative treatment with chiropractic care, physical therapy, & pain management. Reece was improving and doing great until she suffered a re-injury. This incident occurred on a weekend so we took her to OVS - which was the nearest animal hospital to us. This time, her injuries paralyzed her front legs & she lost total control of her bowel & bladder function… my husband & I knew we couldn’t let her suffer like that for the rest of her days. We brought her back into Dr. Prisinzano. While my husband was trying to explain the events leading up to us coming back in, Dr. Prisinzano was incredibly argumentative & kept interrupting my husband saying things like “what you were doing wasn’t a proper treatment.” Then why did you refer us to this specialist??? We already felt terrible for our one year old dog & he definitely did not help. We requested him to assess our dog prior to the euthanasia to make sure we were truly making the best decision - which he refused to do. He then proceeded to inject her with anesthesia BEFORE WE WERE READY & without saying anything. My sweet girl’s eyes glazed over & neither my husband nor I were ready for that. We had treats we wanted to give her one more time & we felt like the last moments of her life were taken from us. I will say the woman who was with him, Cindy, was incredibly compassionate. She consoled us & even cleaned Reece up so she could pass with dignity. The girls at the front were very sweet as well, but Dr. P was terrible to deal with & we will never return. This already traumatic situation was made so much worse. We advise everyone to find a more compassionate vet. December 15 · Alyssa Perez
- I don’t typically write reviews and never pay attention to negative comments but this needs to be said.Dr. Greg Prisinzano is a genuinely kind, compassionate and caring man; he is also a great veterinarian. I recently went through a very difficult and traumatic event when my 13 year old Springer Spaniel began showing symptoms of Cognitive Dysfunction Syndrome ( dog dementia). Bella was with us from when she was 12 weeks old and was one of those rare dogs that was intuitive, easy and always affectionate. She bonded with us so quickly. The disease progressed much faster than I expected. When Dr. Prisinzano first saw her he was honest about the prognosis but also encouraging. He never gave up, recommending numerous options, stayed in touch by calling us with test results and to discuss options. The medication prescribed was hard to find and he would switch pharmacies for us when it was unavailable at our pharmacy. In the end we had to let Bella go. He was unbelievably patient and gentle during the procedure. And we are very grateful for his assistance during a very difficult time.I have had to put down old dogs before - it is never easy.Thank you Greg! May 03 · Bill Fiore
- Took my mini dauchsund to get neutered and he is healing wonderfully. They even kept him overnight to insure a good recovery and sent him home with meds so he's comfortable. They take their time and you never feel rushed out the door. Very thankful to have found this place for our veterinary care. June 15 · Sherry
