University Vet Hospital Reviews
I've been taking my 3 dogs here for over a year, and I can confidently say after trying so many other vets that Dr Schafer and her team are the absolute best. She's excellent at making sure the trip to the vet is a positive experience for the dogs every time by always offering them treats and cheese for each visit, as well as giving top tier medical advice. She's able to answer all the puppy questions I have about my two 4 month old pups as well as how they interact with my 6 year old dog. All of the vet techs and receptionists are amazingly warm, helpful and make my dogs get excited every time they visit.
Dec 12, 2024 · Andy PereidaAfter an exhaustive search for a clinic with Feline VMA certification, I found University Pet Hospital and Dr. Laura Fosbender—and I’m so grateful I did. I run a small cat rescue, and with that comes the ongoing challenge of managing various feline health conditions, often on a shoestring budget. I’ve been through many veterinary offices over the years, and it’s rare to find a vet who doesn’t just treat your pet, but truly partners with you in their care.Dr. Laura has been instrumental in helping me manage my 17-year-old cat’s chronic kidney disease. She respects my knowledge, listens without judgment, and has never once made me feel like “just another crazy cat person.” Instead, she’s empowered me to provide advanced care at home—with a staff of Vet Techs that taught me how to administer subcutaneous fluids, helping me get the right supplies, and always refilling medications promptly when I ask. What truly sets this clinic apart is their compassion, transparency, and willingness to work with my limited resources—something that’s incredibly rare in today’s veterinary landscape. I trust University Pet Hospital not to upsell me or gauge me, but to help me do what’s best for each cat in my care, whether they’re a lifelong companion or a rescue on the road to recovery. If you're looking for a vet who will work with you—not just treat your pet—University Pet Hospital is the place to go.
Jun 26, 2025 · Pooka's PurrhouseMy dog was wounded. I got an appointment that morning. Vet tech was kind and gentle. Doctor cleaned and examined her wound. She was thorough and caring. I saw 4 other dogs come in that morning. People and animals were all calm, unafraid. The best experience I've had at a veterinarian. Doggy is back to her old self in 12 hours. This is my new vet!
Aug 06, 2024 · Rachel ShryackI have been going to UVH since I adopted my dog four years ago and highly recommend them. When I first started bringing my dog I was a grad student on a tight budget, the staff was really helpful in breaking down the care charges and explaining which treatments were necessary and which could wait. I’ve found that they are very flexible with scheduling and it is easy to get an appointment when needed. All the vets we’ve seen have been very helpful but Dr. Schaffer is truly amazing. She is so patient and gentle, my very anxious pup felt so calm with Dr. Schaffer that she laid down for a nap! We are sad to be moving out of the area and away from the care of UVH. Thank you UVH staff!
Apr 16, 2025 · Rita McCallWe came to this office because we followed our Vet Dr. Dana Schaefer there. My dog is sick and it took several days to get an appointment but Dr Mattu worked on his day off to look at my dogs labs and X-ray and emailed me the results. The nurse, Mirna called me and told me she would wait for me after closing so that I could get my dog’s antibiotics before they closed on a Saturday so I wouldn’t have to wait til Monday to pick them up. Above and beyond. I get there and get the antibiotics and find out I have a flat tire. Mirna and Brittany (the receptionist) came to my rescue. They came running out and asked if I needed help I told them I would call AAA but it was going to be an hour wait. they said they would change my tire for me! What?!? So nice and made my day after crying about my dog all day. Sean (I think a vet tech?) was also instrumental to helping get the tire changed! It was a group effort but We changed it before AAA got there. They were all so sweet!! There are still nice people in this world! Not only do we love Dr. Schaefer but we love Mirna, Brittany and Sean too! No wonder my dog loves it here! I will be forever grateful!
