This article aims to provide a factual overview of VCA Adirondack Animal Hospital, outlining its services, location, and key considerations based on publicly available information and client feedback, to help local New York pet owners make an informed choice for their beloved companions.
VCA Adirondack Animal Hospital, like other VCA (Veterinary Centers of America) facilities, is part of a large, nationwide network of animal hospitals. As such, they typically strive to adhere to established protocols and offer a range of standard veterinary services. Their stated mission often revolves around providing comprehensive pet care, from routine wellness to advanced diagnostics, aiming to address the needs of pets at various life stages. Being part of a larger corporate entity can sometimes mean access to a broader network of resources, training, and standardized care practices.
However, it's also important for potential clients to consider how this structure might impact their experience. Client testimonials suggest that experiences can vary, and direct communication regarding services and pricing is crucial. While VCA hospitals generally offer a wide array of services, understanding the specifics of what's included and how billing is handled is key for any pet owner. This overview will delve into these aspects to provide a more complete picture for New York locals.
New York State has a significant pet-owning population, with many households considering their animals integral family members. This widespread pet ownership creates a constant demand for diverse veterinary services, from routine check-ups and vaccinations to more specialized and emergency care. The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) indicates that a substantial percentage of U.S. households own at least one pet. While specific numbers for Queensbury are not readily available, the general trend across New York is that pet owners are actively seeking accessible, reliable, and comprehensive veterinary care. The decision-making process for New York pet owners often involves weighing factors such as location, the range of services offered, the compassion of the staff, and, importantly, the transparency of pricing and communication. Therefore, understanding the nuances of a veterinary practice like VCA Adirondack Animal Hospital is particularly relevant for locals seeking quality care for their animal companions.

VCA Adirondack Animal Hospital Reviews
BUYER BEWARE! You'd better have a lot of money to go here. Hidden fees, surprise appointments/vaccinations. Have had my dogs groomed at VCA for quite a few years now. In the last year, that cost of the groomer vs. what I'm charged varies. No one at the front desk can explain the extra costs. Just state, "it's how the computer comes up with the total...nothing we can do." I was even charged a "hazard waste disposal charge" when the only thing that was done was my dog being washed. Hidden fees and really high costs all around. Additionally, I keep getting reminders that my dogs are due for their annual visit, yet they were there 5 months prior. When I inquire, they say that they suggest dogs come TWICE a year for preventative maintenance. Interesting how no one said that, nor have I read it anywhere. I just get a postcard with a notice. When I call, they say "it's just a suggestion". I've had much better success in Latham, Clifton Park and Glens Falls. When I asked for my dog's records, they told me they were electronic. I asked for them to print them and was told they couldn't do that, but could email them in the next few days. What the heck??? Again, buyer beware...and search elsewhere for better service. As a side note, Dawn, the groomer is terrific. Too bad where she works simply is not.
Apr 03, 2025 · JH BruceI was informed that after my cats first two shots that he would be alright to get neutered. Awesome make the appointment I was told to bring in a feces sample and was NOT informed that it was optional or a paid service, whatever no big deal. Now somehow there was an appointment made for a “booster” which I diddnt make nor was I informed of either. Very dishonest people.
May 05, 2025 · Raymond SquiresI wish i could properly put into words what this place means to me. They have helped me greatly in my time of HIGH stress. The people at the front desk are empathetic, kind, respectful, and extremely helpful. The tech was very sweet and kind and did her job well. Made sure no stones we left unturned. And made sure we left with everything needed and no questions. Dr. Wright was AMAZING. She was so patient with me as i was trying to relay info to my husband. She went over everything and gave me all the options to consider. She made sure we looked into everything to help with my dogs situation, and i would be greatly appreciative to her for that! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who has a need for their fur babies!
Aug 20, 2023 · Kasi HuckWe love the staff and service they provide. We’ve had three dogs with them and they always take us with any last minute injuries or illnesses. Providing us with all of our options and they sincerely care about our dogs. Thank you from Duke, George and Maple !
Feb 26, 2025 · Nordicks MotelAbsolutely love it here. I will admit when I first started bringing my dog here about 5 years ago I wasn’t overly happy. The receptions specifically were a bit rude and unhelpful. But in the past few years there has been new staff members added and now I love it here. The reception staff specifically is phenomenal. They are so kind, knowledgeable and compassionate. Any problems I’ve had with my dog they get me in right away and are super flexible. The vet tech/assisting staff is also amazing. Again overall just super kind, knowledgeable and compassionate. The Dr’s are great I personally see Dr.Judge normally and he’s the best! Very informative, caring and trusting of the animals them selves. Having a pit mix I’ve had a few experiences at different vet facilities where you can tell the Dr is a little standoffish and nervous. Not Dr.Judge, he gets right on the floor and close to my pup. Even lets my dog give him kisses while he gets his vaccines. I’ve had to do a couple drop off visits over the years and they are so great about calling and keeping you updated through out the day. Even regular visits if there is something wrong they always have gone out of their way a couple days after the visit to call and make sure my dog is doing well. Can’t recommend this office enough. Thank you for always taking great care of my dog Benny!
