VCA California Veterinary Specialists-Murrieta Introduce
**Introduction / Overview**
For pet owners in the greater Southern California region, knowing where to turn for advanced and immediate medical attention is a priority. **VCA California Veterinary Specialists-Murrieta** is a premier facility that serves as a referral center and a fully-staffed, 24-hour **Animal Hospital** and **Emergency Veterinarian Service**. This specialized center is dedicated to offering a higher level of veterinary care, focusing on complex medical cases, critical injuries, and urgent situations that often extend beyond the capabilities of a primary care veterinarian.
Unlike traditional veterinary clinics, VCA California Veterinary Specialists-Murrieta operates around the clock, 7 days a week, ensuring that expert medical attention is available whenever an emergency strikes. They provide a unique team-based approach, combining the expertise of specialized clinicians and experienced emergency medical teams to offer comprehensive care, often for the most challenging cases. This includes departments focusing on key areas such as **Cardiology**, **Internal Medicine**, **Oncology**, and various advanced **Surgical Procedures**.
The hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic tools, including advanced imaging technologies like **Computed Tomography (CT Scanning)** and **Ultrasonography**. This allows for the precise diagnosis and immediate action required in emergency and specialty settings. For conditions like severe **Chronic Illness**, cancer, or complex orthopedic issues, the facility's extensive resources are invaluable to pet parents seeking the best possible outcome.
While the circumstances that bring pet owners to a specialty or emergency hospital are often stressful and heart-wrenching, the clinic has received significant praise for the compassion and professionalism of its staff during these difficult times. For example, staff members have been specifically recognized for their extraordinary emotional support, such as comforting family members during a pet’s final moments. However, potential clients should be aware that, like many specialty hospitals, the focus is on advanced and critical care, which can be expensive. There has been feedback from customers expressing concerns about high-cost recommendations being presented rapidly, even before full diagnostic imaging was performed, making it essential for clients to feel empowered to ask questions and discuss all available options before proceeding with costly, non-life-threatening treatments. The facility is, however, known for offering clear cost estimates for procedures and for providing all available options, unless a situation is immediately life-threatening.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1While the reasons that lead me to this clinic were heart breaking. I can’t say enough good about the staff. Ultimately, I ended up having my baby boy put down (he was 8). I can’t thank Ryan, from the front desk enough. I was definitely in emotional distress and she was a comfort. I had my 3 year old twins with me, and while I wanted to be with my boy in the end, I didn’t want my daughters to see that. Ryan graciously sat with them reading to them and comforting them while I was with my boy in his final moments. All the staff were very supportive, accommodating and helpful.Ryan, I will never be able to fully express my gratitude for you in this time. Thank you just doesn’t express how much I appreciate all that you did for my twins, my dog, and myself. But thank you!
July 19 · Jessica RonningWe recently had a terrifying experience at this animal hospital in Murrieta with our 3-year-old dog, Kaya, who was in the very early stages of labor. Concerned about some discharge and the fact that she hadn’t delivered yet, we brought her in for what we thought would be a routine check-up.Instead of offering honest, professional guidance, the staff and doctor immediately pushed for emergency surgery, quoting us a $7,000–$8,000 procedure. They claimed they could “feel” the puppies and that their heart rates were dangerously low, warning us that without immediate surgery, the puppies could die and even Kaya’s life could be at risk. What’s shocking is that no X-rays or ultrasounds were done—just a quick manual feel—and they jumped straight to worst-case scenarios and a high-priced surgery. We were scared and vulnerable, worried about our dog and her babies, and it felt like they took advantage of that fear to pressure us into unnecessary treatment.Thankfully, we trusted our instincts and went home to monitor Kaya. Eight hours later, she delivered 9 healthy, beautiful puppies naturally, with zero complications. Kaya was perfectly fine, and all the babies are thriving. This experience was beyond unacceptable. To mislead and scare pet owners into expensive, unneeded surgery—without even performing basic diagnostic imaging—is unethical and heartbreaking. I would never recommend this hospital to anyone who cares about their pets. We are grateful we didn’t let their scare tactics put our dog and her puppies through unnecessary risk. Please think twice before trusting this place with your animals.
August 02 · Jhanelle LewisI brought my American bully Baby here yesterday because she got attacked by a dog & it made me extremely emotional. The staff was great & so were the dr’s. They answered all my questions & are able to work with pricing a little bit here for it being a hospital. I can’t thank this place enough for the wreck of a day we had yesterday & them being comforting for my reactive dog was extremely helpful with this process. I would highly recommend this place & if I ever had something happen again I would go here. They even made her leg cute for us which put a smile on my face picking her up.
March 25 · Megan Di NonnoOn July 27th, I had to make the incredibly difficult decision to lay my son Hercules to rest. The staff was so compassionate and empathetic throughout the process.Today, I received a card with his paw and nose print—and it meant the world to me. Even though you deal with loss every day and are always busy, the fact that you took the time to honor him and support me during this time is something I’ll never forget.I wasn’t prepared that day to ask for his paw print, but you did it for me anyway. For that, I’m forever grateful. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
August 05 · Michelle ChaconMy cat was diabetic & we couldn't get her to stabilize on insulin. Dr. Pryor was wonderful. She knew exactly what tests & things to look for. She was honest about treatment options & what is reasonable vs what is helpful. She also made sure to explain realistic options based on my budget. When my furbaby was diagnosed with cancer, Dr. Pryor was so kind & helpful. When it came time to say goodbye to my rainbow bridge princess, they were all there with us & cried with us because they'd come to love Chloe too. I'm so grateful to all of them for getting us through the worst moments of my life.
