VCA Capital Area Veterinary Specialists Reviews
This practice is easily the best "bedside manner" both I and my dog have ever received in our lives. The staff are all super invested and caring, the doctors very helpful and highly informed. They stay invested in the well being of your dog even after you finish your run with them, and they are highly competent as well. I wish I could bring my dog here for everything.
Jul 10, 2025 · N DVCA Capital is truly amazing and wow- what an incredible team. The Doctors, Nurses and Front desk staff go above and beyond for you. They are highly skilled, compassionate and genuinely care for your fur baby.My 14-year-old English Bulldog was diagnosed with an aggressive Bone Cancer-- Osteosarcoma-- in March 2024. VCA quickly scheduled and educated us about available treatment options. Dr. Weinstein (surgery), Dr. Treuil (radiation), Dr. Strottner ( chemotherapy) and their team are very experienced, responsive, patient and caring. We never felt pressured and answered our questions at all times. As of August 2024, my pup is pain free, alive, and very happy. She received CT scans, bone and spleen aspirates, radiation, a leg amputation and chemotherapy-- all back to back. She did well for all treatments, loved going in for treatments because of the treats/snuggles, and as of today-- has no signs of cancer!!While we understand the cancer may appear at a later date-- we are so thankful for the additional pain free, quality time with our best girl. Many thanks to the VCA Capital team for helping pet parents to find peace and comfort during such a difficult time. ❤️UPDATE: My sweet girl passed away in November 2024 due to GI disease but she was cancer free. We are grateful to VCA Capital for giving us 11 extra incredible months with our best girl. She beat bone cancer, was a happy girl everyday, and was a princess warrior.
Jun 18, 2025 · Gloria HamiltonI can’t speak highly enough about the team at VCA CAVS. From the moment I called, the receptionist staff was incredibly responsive and compassionate—they picked up right away and scheduled me for a same-day consultation after I explained the urgency. That level of care and efficiency meant so much to me.The vet techs were equally wonderful: kind, warm, and clearly devoted to both their work and the well-being of the animals they care for. I felt genuinely supported from the moment I walked in.Dr. Weinstein was nothing short of exceptional. He has the best bedside manner I’ve ever encountered—honest, direct, and incredibly reassuring. He took the time to explain everything clearly, and I always felt like my dog was in the best hands. He personally called me before and after my dog’s surgery, and followed up every day during her recovery. He even made it clear that I could reach out on the weekends if anything came up. That level of dedication and accessibility is rare and so appreciated. While no one ever wants to have to visit a specialty vet, the experience at VCA CAVS was truly incredible. The entire team made a difficult time easier with their professionalism, empathy, and top-tier care. I’d recommend them again and again without hesitation. Thanks again for taking care of Raven and her splenectomy! I loved them so much I made them cookies :)
Jul 11, 2025 · Mimi PhanDr. Weinstein did my 14yo dog's surgery to remove a large tumor on her cecum about 6 months ago. He really went above and beyond by responding to any questions post surgery promptly (even after hours), which I was not expecting, but appreciate so much. My girl is doing GREAT! No regrowth, she's eating again, has more energy... she's like her old self again... not to mention, her incision was pretty large, and you can barely see the scar now, which is impressive and definitely shows the skill and precision of the surgeon and techs. Also, my dog was excited to see everyone at the office for her post-op appointment, which really speaks volumes about how they treated her.
Apr 22, 2025 · Lo GoDr. Treuil and his team provided us with the best care and service we have ever experienced in all of our dog owning years. From the initial consultation to the last radiation treatment, we were well informed and kept up to date on all the going ons with Trudy. All the staff at VCA did a fantastic job. We received text messages, photos ad videos through the whole process. Trudy needed to stay a few nights throughout the three weeks of treatment and we never once worried about her. Thank you to THE WHOLE ENTIRE team for making us feel comfortable knowing that you were taking the best care of our best girl! From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
