★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The VCA Woodlands has taken great care of my dog since she was a few months old. The staff handled my dog well from administering vaccines to surgeries such as spaying and teeth removal. In particular, Dr. Harris is very communicative and responds promptly on the VCA messaging portal. She is always so patient and thorough with my dog, even when my dog gets hyperactive.

August 21 · Thomas PierceDeeply Disappointed, VCA The Woodlands Let Our Cat DownWe’ve been loyal clients of VCA The Woodlands since we adopted our cat at just 2 months old. He’s now a year old. Today, after a stressful full day of repiping in our home, we noticed he hadn’t urinated all day and was visibly uncomfortable. My husband brought him in for a 3:30pm appointment after describing the symptoms over the phone. We were prompted to get there as quickly as possible since this was likely an emergency. Our appointment was well before they closed at 7:00pm although I know their doctor leaves earlier than the front desk staff. The vet confirmed his bladder was full and offered two options: perform a catheterization at their clinic or send him to an emergency vet. The problem? We don’t have pet insurance, and the ER estimate was $4,000–$8,000; completely unaffordable for us. My husband asked if they could do the procedure there. They refused. Not because it wasn’t possible. Not because our cat wasn’t in urgent need. But because they were “getting close to closing.” They sent my husband home with our suffering cat completely untreated with no relief, no care, and no compassion. Not even pain medication. He wasn’t a walk-in. He had an appointment, one they knew it was potentially an emergency and then confirmed it was when he arrived. He was there on time. This was a preventable crisis and a heartbreaking failure on the clinic’s part.As of now, we’re left with the devastating possibility of having to put our cat down simply because a veterinary team didn’t want to stay late on a Friday evening.I called after my husband left and called to update me while I was at work. I called and spoke with Samantha and was informed it was also likely because there was an appointment after us... I have worked as an equine vet tech and there is no planet in which a routine appointment would ever take precedence over a ongoing, life-threatening emergency like renal failure that will quickly kill the patient.I’m not just disappointed, I’m extremely angry. This is not veterinary care. This is abandonment.VCA The Woodlands needs to take a hard look at what it means to offer care, because what happened today was the opposite.I will never be stepping foot in this clinic with any current or future babies again and will be canceling the routine plan with them as soon as they open Monday morning.
August 03 · Morgan Rae BrownWe took our dog, Milo, there for an end of life evaluation. They were so kind, understanding, and compassionate. The doctor explained in detail what was going to happen. They gave as much time with our sweet boy as we wanted both before and after. Milo even got to eat some Herseys kisses before he passed. He loved them! I can't thank the doctor and all the staff enough for making this horrible event more bearable.
