Examples include offering snacks/drinks, frequent updates, and even a keepsake like a bottle of hair for grieving owners.
- Transparent Communication and Treatment Options: The team excels at "patiently explaining the issues and possibilities," and providing "treatment options" while being empathetic to financial situations (e.g., "empathetic of my situation of being a college student living on her own means"). This transparency builds trust.
- Dedicated Emergency-Focused Team: Their entire staff is specialized in emergency and urgent care, meaning they are always prepared to "expect the unexpected" and handle a wide variety of critical conditions with expertise.
- No Appointment Needed: For true emergencies, pet owners can simply "come in 24/7" without needing a prior appointment, simplifying the process during a crisis.
- Commitment to Not Giving Up: As exemplified by Kingsley's case, the dedication to "doing everything they could to resuscitate him" and not giving up is a powerful testament to their commitment to saving lives.

Veterinary Emergency Group Reviews
We were taken off guard when our 2 and 1/2 year old Ruby Cavalier King Charles Spaniel "Kingsley " had a seizure. We followed up with a vet who said all looked ok but to monitor. Although he was walking around and wagging his tail he was a little less active than usual. The next evening he had breathing issues. We rushed him to VEG. They immediately gave him a songram and were very patient in explaining the issues and possibilities. They had him in an oxygen chamber to monitor overnight. He seemed to be getting better but we recieved a call after an hour had passed that he was vomiting blood and they were doing everything they could to resucitate him. The fact that they wouldnt give up was so amazing to me. He did not make it by the time my family got there as I was caring for my son who was also sick but at least he was in the hands of people who truly cared. It is an amazing place the drs the staff are incredibly compassionate and we felt he was safe there. While excruciatingly painful that Kingsley had MVD and passed so suddenly I will always choose to go to VEG for any pet emergencies!!!!! Blessings!!! Thank you!! Edna Luna aka:Andie
Jun 16, 2025 · E Lunathis review is long overdue but i wanted to extend my heartfelt thanks to the entire team at VEG Carle Place. My sweet boy, Cooper, who had a heart condition randomly started coughing up blood one day and despite my experience with his episodes, this had never happened before and i froze for the first time ever. i called in and they were so patient with me, advising me and calming me down over the phone, reassuring me that a team would be waiting for him when i arrived. i wasn't prepared to go home without my best friend of 13 years and i completely broke hearing that he was probably in heart failure for the second time. they were so understanding and supportive and went above and beyond for my boy. it turned out to just be pneumonia which wasn't the best thing but it was way better than heart failure. they let me stay as long as i wanted, offered snacks and drinks, gave me frequent updates when i went back home to my other pup and when i had to go back to uni for classes. they gave me treatment options and were empathetic of my situation of being a college student living on her own means with her pets. i have so much respect for everything they do every day. it can't be easy but they handle it with so much grace and strength. these are people who aren't just doing a job, they truly care about these animals and the people who come in there with their babies. unfortunately, my boy passed two weeks ago but i will never forget the kindness they showed me and my baby those days he was hospitalized, the check ins and rooting for him like he was their own. to matt, thank you for giving me a little bottle of his hair. now that he's gone, i've never cherished something more and you gave me a little piece of him i can remember him by and for that i am eternally grateful. sorry for not remembering everyone's names but every staff i interacted with and gave me updates was absolutely incredible. thank you for helping my sweet boy in his time of need.
May 20, 2025 · Jessica RozoIf your fur baby ever needs emergency care, this is truly the only place to go. The team is incredibly kind, compassionate, and transparent. What makes this clinic unique is their open-concept setup—most of the care takes place in a shared space where you can stay with your pet and observe the entire appointment. Unlike many 24-hour facilities we’ve visited, VEG Carle Place never made us feel pressured to agree to unnecessary tests/treatments just to drive up the cost. The staff was outstanding and showed as much care for my husband and me as they did for our kitty.A heartfelt thank-you to Dr. Schwartz and nurses Matthew and Jackie for their exceptional care!!!!- Cami Mayer
Jun 01, 2025 · Josh MayerMy beautiful orange cat named Milo became sick in the wee hours of Friday morning (06-27-25). He was vomiting and made these howling sounds. His ears and head were droopy. I panicked and started bawling. I called VEG, then took him over there by 3:45am. One of the staff members met me by the door as I had difficulty loading Milo from the car due to my knee pain. The ER doctor and her team were patient with me. They listened to my concerns and were professional. Plus they showed love to Milo, which I liked as well. Milo felt a little better within an hour. His ears became perky; he lifted his head up and his eyes were bright. Iwould like to thank them for taking care of us as I was so worried about my precious kitty. I would recommend the Veterinary Emergency Group to anyone who is a pet parent.
Jun 28, 2025 · Nicole JollyWords can't express how appreciative I am towards this establishment and all of its staff. This isn't just a nice, clean, quality clinic. You can tell that every single staff member authentically cares about animals and giving them the best treatment possible. When I was in last week for my Maltese, I was terrified. I honestly had no idea what was going to happen to him. The doctors had excellent bedside manner and approached me with great empathy. It is because of their skill that my little guy was loved for the 24 hours he was there and that he was able to make a full recovery.Thank you so much. 😊 🫂 🙏
