This is a rare and invaluable feature in veterinary medicine, as it provides immense comfort to both the pet and the owner during a time of high stress. The reviewer, whose senior pug was recovering from aspiration pneumonia, expressed how this policy made a terrifying experience "so much less scary." This highlights a core philosophy of VEG: to treat both the pet and the human with compassion. Another significant highlight is the specialized nature of their services. By focusing exclusively on emergency and urgent care, the staff and facility are always prepared for a crisis. This level of readiness is crucial when every second counts. The hospital also accepts various payment methods, including credit cards, debit cards, and NFC mobile payments, making it easier for clients to handle the financial aspects of an emergency. Furthermore, VEG is committed to inclusivity, proudly identifying as an LGBTQ+ friendly and transgender safe space with gender-neutral restrooms. Customer reviews also praise the staff for their compassion, patience, and willingness to explain every step of the process. One client, who tragically lost their dog, Esko, wrote a heartfelt review thanking the staff for their compassion and for making a devastating experience a little less painful. This emotional support, combined with medical expertise, is a key feature of VEG's approach to care.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1VEG was actually recommended to me by a close friend who had to bring her cat in for an emergency about a year ago in a conversation about local vets, etc. that we had weeks ago. I'm so glad she referred me here. The staff, doctors, facility - everything - they're all incredible and exactly what you'd wish for as any pet owner when your fur kid is going through it.My senior pug, Frank, developed aspiration-induced pneumonia (which I didn't even know was a thing) and was struggling very hard to breathe - it happened very suddenly and it was very scary. Their facility has 2 oxygen chambers and he stayed there from late Saturday evening through this afternoon. I can't tell you how welcoming, informative, attentive, efficient, and kind all of the staff, doctors, nurses - everyone - is here. I've never experienced a place where you're able to stay with your pet 24/7 and honestly, I wish this was the standard with vet care in many cases. You don't feel as helpless and - as someone who always feels like I don't want to get in the way - I felt very welcomed and encouraged to stay as long as I wanted. When you're that stressed about your pet and their prognosis can change minute-to-minute, it's not really a time that you want to chat it up with other owners, but everyone there with their pet is going through something difficult too, and it was actually nice to have some other humans (aside from the staff, of course) around who are kind and empathetic about your situation - who you can undoubtedly be kind and empathetic back to. It feels good to not have to go through it alone. All in all, the experience could have been so much scarier but because of the combined experience, facility, and just general kindness of everyone on site here, Frank is home, recovering (very well) and resting - just 3 days after he could barely breathe and I was almost certain this might be goodbye. Their care allowed him to have more time with me and his sister-pug (Frida) and we are very, very glad and grateful to have him home and on the road to recovery.Thank you a million times over to everyone at VEG H Street!-Anna, Frank + family
July 22 · Anna FisherSo I lost my best friend yesterday. I had him 2 years and he was my first dog. I always loved dogs but until I was blessed with Esko I never truly understood the connection a person can have with one. He was everything I dreamed a dog would be. He was affectionate, he could tell if u were upset and needed comfort, he was always willing to play. He loved food and would do a happy dance when he was being fed. When anyone would walk through the door he would always show love and excitement to see them. As small as he was, he had the heart of a lion! I will miss my friend and know the path ahead will be hard without him.I gave this background to illustrate how hard this has been and will be. However the staff at VEG was the best thing I could’ve ever asked for during this hard time. They were all compassionate to what we were going through even though I’m sure this was an everyday occurrence. They were patient in explaining anything I asked and pursued every avenue possible.I can’t remember everyone’s name as things were moving fast however I can’t thank them enough for making things a little less painful. I would absolutely recommend going here if you want someone who really cares!
June 24 · Evelio RodriguezI brought my kitty Boots here a couple times while we were trying to find out the cause of some really intense urinary issues (since solved and remedied). The staff at VEG was spectacular - comforting, transparent about pricing, and importantly very good at their jobs. The prices were ER prices but extremely reasonable for all that, they saw me and Boots and had a solution the same day, and we both left feeling much more comfortable. So thankful for VEG and the reliable care they give.
August 27 · Annie WilsonEveryone who cared for my sweet boy was AMAZING - especially the overnight nurses!! They treated my dog like he was their own and were very supportive of my feelings and needs as worried pet parent. It’s everything you want and all you can ask for when your best friend is sick and struggling. And, because it does matter for most people (no matter what we say or wish was the case), I felt like the cost was reasonable and less than other Vet ERs in the area, and their transparency about their rates was incredibly refreshing. I hope we never need their services again, but if we do, I would call VEG immediately without hesitation. I can’t thank them enough!!
June 03 · Tonya WilliamsDr Hartson and Shea were incredible. I was a mess when bringing in my kitty and they not only made sure she was comfortable and treated quickly, they talked me through so much of what they do. Hopefully I don’t have future emergencies like this one, but I know where to go to get help which is an amazing blessing!
