Veterinary Emergency Group Introduce
For pet owners in St. Charles County and the greater Missouri area, the sudden realization that your beloved animal needs emergency medical attention can be one of the most stressful moments imaginable. Knowing exactly where to turn—and what kind of experience to expect—is crucial. The Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) in St. Peters, MO, specializes exclusively in urgent and emergency veterinary care, operating with a client-first philosophy designed to reduce the anxiety of a pet crisis.
VEG is not a typical general practice clinic; it is a dedicated Emergency Veterinarian Service built from the ground up to handle critical situations 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. This specialization ensures that the facility, staff, and equipment are always prepared for the most time-sensitive and critical cases, from sudden allergic reactions and ingestion of toxins to traumatic injuries and complicated illnesses. When minutes count, having a fully operational, round-the-clock emergency hospital right here in Missouri is an indispensable resource.
What truly sets the VEG model apart in the St. Peters community is its unique commitment to transparency and client involvement. Unlike many traditional emergency vets where you might drop off your pet and wait anxiously in a lobby, VEG operates with an open-door policy. This means that, whenever medically safe and appropriate, pet parents are encouraged to stay by their animal's side throughout the entire process, from triage through to examination and even treatment. This compassionate approach provides immense comfort to both the pet and the owner, fostering trust during a highly emotional time, a fact strongly supported by local customer testimonials praising the “kind, thoughtful, and honest care.”
As one Missouri customer shared after a late-night rescue involving an injured feral cat, the team was "so caring, compassionate and empathetic," walking them through a difficult, humane decision and even consoling the animal. This level of emotional support, combined with immediate, expert clinical attention, is the cornerstone of the service offered at the St. Peters location. VEG aims to change the traditionally traumatic veterinary emergency experience into one that is transparent, empathetic, and ultimately, focused on the well-being of the entire family.
The VEG hospital is strategically located in St. Peters, MO, making it easily reachable for families throughout St. Charles County, including nearby communities like St. Charles, Cottleville, and Wentzville.

An emergency can happen without warning—on a holiday, in the middle of the night, or on a Sunday—and knowing a dedicated, fully-staffed emergency hospital is open and ready is invaluable peace of mind.
However, the biggest reason to choose VEG is their unique Stay with Your Pet Policy. This open-door model transforms a traditionally scary and alienating experience into a shared, transparent process. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1- After countless disappointing and traumatic ER vet visits over the years, my hope in humanity and after hour vet care was sprung back to life after receiving timely, kind, thoughtful, and honest care from the incredible team at VEG. My frenchie came in for an allergic reaction and I am happy to say she’s happy and healthy and I thank the team for their prompt care for her. I hope I don’t need an ER vet any time soon, but this will be the only place I recommend and will go to in the future. Love the thoughtful and kind, open transparent business model, too. Can tell they care from the moment you walk in. Thanks Dr Davison and staff! June 26 · Brittney Dailey
- My son and I brought in a feral kitty that we had been feeding for a week, trying to tame and capture. Finally, using tuna, he ended up in our humane trap. I found VEG after looking for an emergency vet cuz this kitty only came late at night, once at 3am. So I knew I'd need to be prepared on a place to go if we ever caught this poor thing. It was midnight on a Saturday when we came to VEG. Calling ahead, the person that answered was very receptive and didn't hesitate, bring him in! The vet and techs that were there put their heads together for a game plan, as kitty was so upset and within minutes, they had him sedated and we got to watch them as they got this stupid jar off his head. Of course there was infection and bone showing. I think all of us were just relieved that he didn't have to die alone and with this jar on his head. Yes, the absolute humane thing was to put him to rest. Maybe if he was tame, we would have had a different outcome, but how would you administer medicine and care to this poor feral kitty that had obviously suffered long enough? These professionals were so caring, compassionate and empathetic to this poor kitty, and to my son and me. The vet talked us through what was gonna happen, and they talked to and consoled the kitty even though he was still sedated and wouldn't know what was happening. We all felt so bad for it to end this way, the mood was palpable in the room, they all cared so much. I'm just so impressed with how they handled it all and the care they showed. Just simply amazing. There are special places in heaven for kitties like this and I'm so grateful this group of people helped us lead him there. 💕 June 11 · Kristin Hagedorn
- Everyone was very apologetic for having us wait 3+ hours while there were multiple other more high intensity emergency surgeries happening- our girl was in an oxygen tank so we were more than ok with waiting it out. We were checked on by at least 8 different people and they even gave her a little hide and blankets.Having been to other VEG locations before I can say this is my favorite one. I love the open floor plan of the waiting room & it feels more like an emergency room than a clinic. At other locations I was not able to be with my pets while they were in oxygen tanks, but being able to sit and monitor them myself while doctors and nurses are busy with other patients is very comforting. - Everything about this emergency vet was great, especially compared to the ones we’ve visited in the past. The atmosphere was clean and comforting. All of the staff and doctors were amazing! Angela greeted me and my pup, Nova, when we walked in the door and got us situated right away. She was super nice and helpful through everything. Although Nova was extremely anxious and uncomfortable, due to the situation she was in, they were able to do what they needed to do. The doctor that performed Novas surgery was very personable and kept us in the loop throughout the whole experience. We were able to bring Nova home in less than 24 hours post surgery due to her progress. They took very good care of her overnight and now she is recovering at home. August 28 · Madelyn Fears
- This staff and facility at Mid Rivers are absolutely amazing!!!! They literally greeted us at the door. Examing my Boris within seconds of walking in. I was able to stay with my fur baby the entire time through every procedure. They made a scary situation alot easier. Explaining every detail. If we should ever need the ER again I am most definitely going back to VEG Thank you all so much!! Boris Karloff/Chihuahua August 22 · ZombieGurl
