This article will provide a detailed look into Vought Veterinary Services LLC, highlighting their location, the wide array of services they offer, and the specific features that make them a suitable choice for a variety of pet owners in our community. ---Vought Veterinary Services LLC is located at 702 Coles Way, Derry, PA 15627, USA. This address provides a central point for their clinic-based services. However, a significant aspect of Vought Veterinary Services LLC is its dual nature: they operate not only as a traditional clinic but also as a mobile veterinary service. This means that while they have a physical address for appointments, a substantial portion of their care is delivered directly to clients' doorsteps, whether it's for a small house pet or large farm animals.
The clinic's physical location in Derry offers convenience for those who prefer to bring their pets in or for services that require specific clinic equipment. Derry itself is a close-knit community in Westmoreland County, and the clinic's presence within it makes it easily accessible for local residents. For appointments at the clinic, finding parking and navigating the facility should be straightforward, contributing to a hassle-free visit.
The unique mobile service component greatly enhances their accessibility, especially for those with large animals, multiple pets, or pets who experience severe anxiety in clinic environments. Dr. Vought aims to remove the "scary" clinic environment by bringing care to the comfortable, calming atmosphere of a pet's home or farm. This flexibility is a tremendous benefit for many Pennsylvania pet owners, reducing travel time and stress for animals. While the mobile service typically requires scheduling, it offers an unparalleled level of convenience and personalized attention, making Vought Veterinary Services LLC a highly accessible option across a wider geographical reach within Westmoreland, Fayette, and Allegheny Counties.
---Vought Veterinary Services LLC offers a comprehensive and diverse range of veterinary services, catering to both small and large animals. Their commitment extends from preventative wellness to diagnostics, surgery, and even in-home care.
Wellness and Preventative Care: This is a cornerstone of their practice, with a strong emphasis on proactive health. Services include thorough physical examinations, tailored vaccination protocols for various species (dogs, cats, horses, cows, sheep, goats, alpacas, and more), and discussions on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. They offer discounted prices for multi-patient visits and special pricing for herd checks, demonstrating their dedication to accessible preventative medicine for all animals. Health certificates for fairs, shows, and interstate travel, as well as Coggins testing for horses, are also available.
Diagnostic Services: To accurately assess and diagnose health issues, Vought Veterinary Services utilizes in-house laboratory services for blood work, urinalysis, and fecal testing. They also employ a portable X-ray unit, which is versatile enough for both large animal use on farms and stationary use for small animals in the clinic, allowing for effective internal imaging.
Surgery: The clinic provides a range of surgical services under full anesthesia. This includes common procedures like spays and neuters, as well as more complex operations such as addressing "lumps and bumps," certain orthopedic procedures, and major abdominal surgeries. They emphasize patient safety and comprehensive post-operative care.
K-Laser Therapy: This advanced therapeutic option is offered for a wide array of conditions, including hip dysplasia, stomatitis, infected wounds, and soft tissue trauma. K-Laser therapy is a non-invasive treatment that can aid in pain management and accelerate healing.
Microchipping: For permanent identification and increased chances of recovering lost pets, microchipping services are provided. This often comes with free online registration paperwork and assistance with lifetime license and permanent identification paperwork for the county courthouse.
Grooming (Therapeutic): While not a full-service groomer, they offer therapeutic grooming with sedation for animals that require it. This includes ear plucking, flushing, and cleaning, as well as nail trims and anal gland expressions. They can also recommend professional groomers for everyday needs.
Consultations: Specialized consultations are available for various concerns, including dermatologic (skin), orthopedic (bone and joint), ophthalmic (eye), and weight management issues, providing tailored advice and treatment plans.
Emergency Care: Vought Veterinary Services can provide emergency care both during normal office hours and after hours, subject to an additional fee and doctor availability. This offers crucial support for unexpected urgent situations.
At-Home Euthanasia: For difficult end-of-life decisions, they offer compassionate at-home euthanasia services, allowing pets to pass peacefully in a familiar and comfortable environment.
Online Pharmacy: For convenience, clients can order medications and other pet necessities online, with direct shipping to their homes.
Vought Veterinary Services LLC distinguishes itself with several key features and highlights that are particularly beneficial for pet owners in Pennsylvania. These aspects contribute significantly to their positive reputation, as evidenced by client feedback.
Kind, Caring, and Knowledgeable Doctor: A prominent highlight is Dr. Vought herself. Clients consistently praise her kindness, caring demeanor, and extensive knowledge. One review stated, "The Doctor was kind and caring and knowledgeable." Another specifically mentioned, "Dr Vought herself was amazing and I thank her for taking care of Luna in her final hours," underscoring her compassionate approach even in difficult circumstances. This dedication from the primary veterinarian is a major draw for clients.
No Pressure Sales or Treatments: A standout feature, as noted by a client, is the absence of pressure to "purchase anything or do anything different for our Ralph than what we have been doing." This transparent and non-pushy approach is highly valued by pet owners, allowing them to make informed decisions without feeling coerced. It fosters trust and respect between the clinic and its clients.
Fair and Transparent Pricing: The financial aspect of veterinary care is often a concern, and Vought Veterinary Services LLC is recognized for its reasonable costs. A satisfied customer noted, "Pricing is fair as far as I am concerned." While the clinic does not accept payment plans and requires immediate payment for services, their overall pricing structure is considered equitable within the local market.
Mobile Veterinary Service: A truly unique and advantageous feature is their mobile clinic. This service brings veterinary care directly to homes and farms, which is especially beneficial for large animals, multiple pet households, or pets that experience significant stress in a traditional clinic setting. This convenience and reduced anxiety for pets are highly appreciated by clients across Westmoreland, Fayette, and Allegheny Counties.
Caring and Courteous Staff (with a caveat): While one review highlighted a negative interaction with a receptionist regarding payment policy and empathy during a distressing time, other reviews emphasize the staff's courtesy and caring nature. The positive aspects of staff interactions, particularly the medical team, are frequently mentioned in conjunction with Dr. Vought's exceptional care. This indicates a general commitment to positive client experiences, even if isolated incidents can occur.
Broad Animal Coverage: Unlike many clinics that focus solely on small companion animals, Vought Veterinary Services LLC provides care for a wide array of species, including dogs, cats, pocket pets, horses, and various farm animals (cows, sheep, goats, alpacas). This mixed-animal practice capability makes them an invaluable resource for the diverse agricultural and pet-owning communities in rural Pennsylvania.

Vought Veterinary Services LLC Reviews
Our first visit was Thursday and there are no complaints. The staff was courteous and caring and the Doctor was kind and caring and knowledgeable. There was no pressure to purchase anything or do anything different for our Ralph than what we have been doing, that was very nice. Pricing is fair as far as I am concerned.
Jun 20, 2025 · Timothy RussellI can say the vet herself was very caring and sweet but the receptionist should be fired. Took my very sick puppy to be treated and yes they did say that they did not accept payment plans but did not clearly state that the bill would be due the very next day. (1011.xx) after the card charge. When I walked in to see my Luna she jumped up full of excitement, but one of the staff members did something with a syringe and then she was very lethargic. I am only 19 years old and this was my first time being a pet owner. I am clearly shook up and frantically trying to figure out someway of paying the bill, trying to explain everything to the receptionist. She had just an overall sour attitude and was laughing at me. Dr vought herself was amazing and I thank her for taking care of Luna in her final hours. But I would not recommend the office, and I will not be taking any future animals there.
May 16, 2025 · KylieI have used them since bringing my beautiful boy home and here he was a few weeks ago when we arrived for his neutering. They took excellent care of him and he's fully healed and wonderfully back to his old self. We love and trust them!
Aug 05, 2024 · Bri AustinI am so thankful for Dr. Vought! After being with my vet for several years my dog started to have some skin issues. My concerns were ignored for months. As soon as I went to see Dr. Vought she sat down and listened to me and discussed several options that would work not only cost wise but what would work best for my dog. Immediately after being seen he felt relief. We travel over 3 hours to come here and it is well worth the trip! Staff is friendly, place is clean, and most importantly your concerns are heard.
Mar 28, 2024 · Kelsey HenryShe was absolutely amazing. I texted the oncall number. She got back to me right away. After talking about everything she said my dog would be OK till morning. Not to waste an emergency visit or money. BUT.. I was still nervous and scared and wanted my dog checked out. She met me late in the evening after she got home. Checked my doggy out and made sure she was comfortable. Thank you so much for opening up and seeing my furkid..
