However, it is crucial for prospective clients to be aware of certain concerns raised in some reviews, specifically regarding the veterinarian, Dr. Mary Criado. One detailed review alleges issues with aftercare instructions and medication provided post-dental surgery, specifically mentioning Zorbium, a powerful opioid, which the client claims was dangerously unnecessary and given with insufficient information. This review also indicates that attempts to discuss concerns with Dr. Criado were met with anger and dismissal, leading to the client being dismissed from the practice. This aspect highlights a potential area of concern regarding communication, patient care philosophy, and client-veterinarian relationship for some individuals. It is always recommended that pet owners research medications and discuss all concerns thoroughly with their veterinarian.

Mountain View Veterinary Care Reviews
The staff was very friendly and kind and empathetic they helped me with my guinea pig in her last days of her life and assured me that her condition was not of my doing. Great Place! Very informative and explained everything very thoroughly. Thank you very much and I will recommend you to all my fellow pet owners...
Jun 25, 2025 · Michelle WaugamanGiving two stars because the vet techs and support staff there are very attentive and kind. The veterinarian, Mary Criado, is a different story altogether. Long story short, I took my eight year-old cat there to have dental surgery. The aftercare and instructions I received were terrible. They didn’t give me enough medication to control his pain in the days after, so I had to take him back a few days later to receive fluids, and I had asked for an anti-inflammatory. They decided they were going to give him “ A transdermal medication to control pain that will last four days.” The only information I was given about that medication was that his pupils might be dilated, and he might seem more restless than usual. The medication turned out to be something called Zorbium. An extremely powerful opioid, which was not needed in this situation, and very nearly killed my cat over the weekend. And when I tried discuss my concerns with Ms. Criado, she became angered , didn’t want to hear it and dismissed me from the practice. If you are interested, or a veterinarian suggests that they’re going to give your cat this medication, please join a Facebook group called Zorbium to educate yourself. You will see the plethora of information that shows this is a dangerous and deadly medication for a cat. And some veterinarians don’t have any idea what is going to happen when they give it. If you are OK with just blindly following what Ms Criado gives your pet and you don’t dare want to discuss any concerns about it, then this place is for you. If not, there are many other great veterinarians in the area who actually listen to you.
Jun 15, 2025 · Jackie MatarazzoDr. Criado and team are simply amazing! We have a reactive large dog and have been trying to find a vet who will work with us on making sure that he gets the care he needs and EVERYONR at MountainView went about and beyond for us. We didn't feel shamed and were treated with the upmost respect care and compassion.
Jan 31, 2025 · Lauren DelsignoreDr. Ackerman and her staff are incredibly knowledgeable and kind. My dog actually loves seeing them! They truly go above and beyond in their care. Dr. Ackerman absolutely saved my dog’s life. I am so grateful that she is our vet!
Dec 08, 2023 · Joyce POur regular vet does not do surgery anymore so we chose Mountain View to have our 16 month golden retriever spayed and a Gastropexy. I made the appointment a month and a half out. The Sunday before her surgery I received an email from Dr. Ackerman saying she thought she was over weight and didn’t want to do the surgery if she was. We took her in that week for a weight check and for her to look at our pup. The technician that brought her out told my husband she could still lose a little bit of weight but we were good to go for surgery Friday. The next morning I got an email saying she was overweight and didn’t want to do the surgery. Needless to say we were confused. I called my vet and they said her weight was fine and they seemed perplexed.I wanted to do what was best for her so we canceled her surgery. Later that day I got a phone call confirming her surgery for Friday. Then another phone call to reschedule her for three weeks. After another weight check and some back and forth I realized they are not communicating with each other and didn’t fell comfortable having her surgery preformed there. We used them for our other pup and didn’t have this issue. I think she’s taking on way too many patients and is overwhelmed. This is our golden retriever that she said is overweight. She gets 3/4 cup food twice a day and carrots and green beans for treats.
