★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This is a very mixed opinion. I went to Kathryn Heinrichs a few years ago, and was delighted to find somebody who actually thought about things and could give you an intelligent answer, instead of just throwing cortisone at everything, which it seems so many local vets do (I have had cats and dogs for 40 years now, in Dallas, Arlington and Fort Worth, so I know). Then gradually, it turned out that they only wanted to see pets for things that were scheduled far out, like surgeries or vaccinations, say. If your pet is sick? And needs attention that day or the next? They would send you to the emergency hospital! To me, that is not what a vet is for. They're for sick animals, not well ones. When my second dog died that had been in their care for several years, I was not there. My husband went in that same day, luckily, for my dog had had a stroke that morning and needed help during the day, right then. My husband was treated very rudely by the receptionist, even as he was carrying my disabled dog in who was about to die! Then he was informed by the vet herself that we were always coming to them for emergency care and that was not okay...even as my dog lay on the table and needed to be put down, being in a stroke state. My husband was already extremely torn up about it, understandably, even before he went to the vet. We are not going back, needless to say.
July 17 · Beenie MainsI’ve been going to westcliff since 2011 when they were at their old location. They have come a long way since then. From a location that was barely updated to a new location that is updated but on a busy street. Either way would suffice seeing as how they treat their clients and animals. They could see me in a cardboard box and I’d still be pleased because of the results. Their staff is kind and thorough. And when you have a dog on a forever med they are Johnny on the spot with refills. Thanks for everything!
June 24 · Kelly HillWe regret to inform you that we have decided to change our review of Westcliff Animal Hospital from five stars to one or zero stars after experiencing a tragic incident. We had been taking our dogs to this animal hospital for around 12 years, but when one of them fell sick, we called to get her an appointment. However, the staff informed us that since it had been a couple of years since our last visit, we were no longer considered clients, and they would not work her in. Furthermore, the staff member we spoke with was quite rude in her manner. Despite our efforts to find another veterinarian, our dog tragically passed away that same night. It is disheartening to realize that 12 years of loyal business meant nothing to them.
April 09 · Robert LivelyI am beyond disappointed and frustrated with this veterinary clinic. After taking my dog to an emergency vet yesterday due to a serious tail injury that suddenly resulted in necrosis, I called this clinic first thing Monday morning, expecting his regular vet to be able to see him. Instead, both Harley and Sidney flat-out refused, claiming they had no availability—not just today, but the entire week. This is despite the fact that my dog is in pain and needs urgent care before the situation worsens. Burn mine, my dog Otis has been a patient there for years. What made matters worse was their complete lack of professionalism and empathy. When my wife asked Sidney to quickly send over our dog’s records so we could find another vet, she condescendingly told us that she “doesn’t work for us” and refused to expedite the process. That level of dismissiveness and indifference toward an animal in pain is unacceptable. If you truly care about your pet and want a veterinary office that will be there in times of crisis, DO NOT trust this clinic. They have shown they are unreliable, unprofessional, and completely indifferent to the well-being of the animals they are supposed to care for. I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone.
