When considering Whetstone Animal Hospital LLC, it's important for pet owners to align their expectations with the clinic's approach to care. Based on available public feedback, some aspects to consider include:
- Staff Interactions: Reviews indicate varied experiences with staff interactions. Some describe front office staff as polite, while other feedback expresses concerns regarding professionalism and perceived focus. It is advisable for new clients to observe these interactions and assess if they meet their personal standards for client service.
- Veterinarian's Approach: Specific feedback from one customer mentioned a veterinarian who appeared to have prior trauma influencing their interaction with a particular dog breed, leading to a less than ideal examination. This suggests that pet owners with animals that may require a particularly calm or confident approach might want to discuss this with the clinic beforehand.
- Animal Handling: The use of treats and positive reinforcement during exams is a key element for many pet owners in creating a comfortable experience for their animals. One review noted a perceived lack of high-value treats and an immediate discomfort from the veterinarian upon encountering the dog, leading to a situation where a muzzle was required. Pet owners who prioritize a "fear-free" or low-stress vet visit might wish to inquire about the clinic's specific handling protocols.
- Client Communication: The feedback regarding "un-caring and VERY Un-professional service" and a "totally blind sided" experience suggests that communication style and client expectations might sometimes diverge. Open communication with the clinic about specific concerns or preferences prior to a visit could be beneficial.
- Payment and Billing: One review expressed strong negative sentiment regarding the front desk's handling of financial matters, describing it as overly focused on money. Clients may wish to clarify billing procedures and payment expectations upfront.

Whetstone Animal Hospital LLC Reviews
The ladies in the office were polite. However, the over all experience was not what I expected. Firstly, the vet did not greet my dog with treats and what they had for treats were not high value. As soon as she walked in I could tell she was not pleased with my breed. The vet barely started her exam and jumped the second my dog looked at her. Unfortunately the vet has previous trauma and is fearful. The dogs can sense that and will act accordingly. In the end I had to muzzle my dog because of the lack of confidence and lack of appropriate treats. If you as a vet have trauma and are scared of the patients you're supposed to help, I believe you should seek help or reevaluate how to move forward with your career. This was my first experience like this and my dog is almost 4 years old.
Jun 23, 2025 · Rebecca VegaUn-caring and VERY Un- professional service. The woman at the front desk is more worried about money than your pet. She salivates at the mouth when she takes your money. This is un-exeptible behavior! There are many many "good" vets around and I would never recommend this place. Dr. Nicole, I am very surprised at your poor behavior. You totally blind sided me! You should be very ashamed of yourself!!One again, and i cannot stress this anymore than I already have...Do Not give this business the satisfaction of seeing your pet!! I hope my (1) star review has lowered your rating. I wish I could have given you ZERO!!!
Jun 25, 2025 · Food By ImaginationThe Bucyrus office is amazing Dr Frey saw my Willow after she was hit by a car causing neurological damage, she did an amazing job. She knew exactly what meds she needed and now my Willow is a week in recovery walking around and regaining her eyesight slowly. I couldn't thank this vet enough. I didnt want to loose my baby and this vet didnt instantly want to give up on her and put her to sleep. She actually gave her a chance and a week later shes thriving.
Jun 28, 2025 · Linda BeechamI called right before closing on a Friday when I came home to find my new puppy lifeless. We rushed him in to see Dr. Frey and she went way above and beyond to save his life! She gave him fluids and meds right away and told us what to do to hopefully keep him alive over the weekend. Within a couple hours of leaving the office, River came back to life! He had parvo and would've died if it wasn't for her quick action. We couldn't possibly thank her enough for not only saving River, but for saving us from having broken hearts as he is going to be my daughter's service dog. #LivingRiver has a beautiful life ahead because of Whetstone Animal Hospital and Dr. Frey!!
