A central location like this can reduce travel time, which is especially beneficial when dealing with a pet that might be sick, anxious, or simply not a fan of car rides. While specific parking information isn't provided, being on a major boulevard usually implies readily available parking options, further contributing to the convenience for locals accessing their services.

- Accessibility for Urgent Cases (during hours): They do offer urgent care services during their regular business hours, advising pet owners to call ahead for assessment and preparation. This can be beneficial for non-life-threatening but immediate concerns.
- Client History (Area of Concern): While loyal clients expect their history to be recognized, one review highlighted a significant issue where a long-standing client felt their history was disregarded and dismissed by a staff member. This indicates a potential inconsistency in how client relationships are managed.
- Communication and Transparency (Area of Concern): Customer reviews underscore a critical need for consistent and clear communication, particularly regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and potential outcomes. Issues cited include lack of upfront information about periodontal disease, insufficient detail on prognosis, and unclear communication about emergency protocols and medication administration.
- Patient-Centered Care (Area of Concern): One review detailed a perceived lack of personal care and prioritization of monetary gain over the pet's well-being, especially in a critical, emergency situation. This suggests that while a wide range of services is offered, the empathetic delivery of that care might vary.

However, local users should be aware of the detailed concerns highlighted in recent reviews regarding communication, transparency, and the perceived level of personal care. Instances of apparent disregard for established client history, lack of clear explanations about diagnoses (e.g., periodontal disease), and issues with emergency protocols and medication management are significant points of consideration. One particularly distressing account details a lack of proactive treatment in an emergency situation, unclear prognoses, and issues with medication dispensing accuracy.
While ZippiVet provides a broad spectrum of services in a modern facility, the experiences shared suggest that potential clients should prioritize open and direct communication, ask detailed questions about diagnosis and treatment plans, and ensure they feel fully informed and respected as a loyal client. For Austin locals, the decision to choose ZippiVet should be made with a full understanding of these varying experiences, encouraging a proactive approach to communication with the staff and veterinarians to ensure their pet receives the attentive and transparent care they deserve.

ZippiVet Reviews
Extremely Disappointed – Do Not RecommendI’m writing this review out of deep disappointment and concern regarding the care my dog received at this clinic. I had been a loyal client for years—this vet cared for my late dog through her final stages, including her cremation. So when I adopted my new dog, I naturally continued bringing him here for his wellness checks, neutering, and dental care. I considered myself an established and trusting client. However, my recent experience has completely changed that. After my dog lost a tooth just a few months after receiving extensive dental work and extractions (in July), I called the office to express concern. I was connected to a staff member named Emily, and this is where the situation took a turn for the worse.Emily informed me that my dog had a certain stage of periodontal disease—something I was never told during the post-procedure follow-up or any visit afterward. I was shocked and upset, especially considering how serious dental health is for dogs. When I pointed out that no one had ever informed me of this diagnosis, Emily dismissively replied, “Well, you’ve only been here once.” Not only was this factually wrong (I’ve had multiple appointments here with both of my dogs), but the tone and attitude she used were entirely unprofessional, condescending, and lacked the basic empathy you’d expect from anyone working in animal care. The interaction felt like gaslighting—completely disregarding my history as a client and speaking to me like I was just another number. No compassion, no accountability, no respect. Her attitude was truly one of the worst I’ve encountered in any customer service setting, let alone in a place that’s supposed to care about pets and their owners.Because of this experience, I will never return. I’ve also advised my friends and fellow pet parents to take their animals elsewhere. One bad recommendation carries a lot of weight—and in this case, it’s well-earned. If a vet clinic can’t provide transparency, communication, or basic courtesy to clients who trust them with their animals, they don’t deserve your business. It’s time the veterinary industry starts treating clients with the dignity and care they deserve. They lost me as a client, and hopefully, this review helps others make a more informed decision.
Apr 13, 2025 · Closet therapyMy sweet girl Lena passed away today after one administered dose of Vetmedin prescribed by Zippivet. This is where I believe they failed her. Lena was diagnosed with Diabetes last September. Upon her initial diagnosis, they set me up with insulin and syringes but did not mention or send me a prescription for a glucose monitor. When I went to reorder her insulin after 3 months they told me they needed her glucose monitor data - something they never set me up with. After another month of back and forth, two broken glucose monitors later, we finally received enough data to ascertain that she was on too low of a dose. We increased the dose.Last month Lena began showing signs of cardiac failure - I brought her in for labored breathing and a distended abdomen. I was explicitly worried about fluid accumulation which is a common scenario with diabetic cats. The new vet who saw her initially talked about ordering her a blood panel that would take 2-3 days for results instead of focusing on stabilizing her. I asked if we could instead do x-rays first and see what’s going on with her lungs/abdomen. We did so. He came back and told me there was a “mass” in her lungs which left me distraught. I had to wait for several hours, without treatment being administered, for them to conclude it was what I thought - fluid in her lungs. They did not drain the fluid at this point. Two full days later they asked me to come back in for another test to send to the cardiologist. This was on a Friday. They said it may take until Monday for the results to come in. I became frustrated and asked what they expected me to do with a cat that can’t breathe and won’t eat for another three full days and that I believed they weren’t treating this as the emergency situation it was. At 6pm on a Friday they told me she was in cardiac failure and to come back the next day for diuretics to drain the fluid. So 5 entire days after I brought her labored breathing issue to their attention did they finally treat her for it. This was also after I spent $1600 on JUST diagnostics. They were more concerned about payment for the diagnostics and ordering every test imaginable without ever giving me an idea of what they were testing for, what her prognosis was, what I should look out for, when it becomes an emergency situation, and instead sent me home three separate times with a cat in distress. When I mentioned she wasn’t eating, they forgot to hand me her appetite stimulant medication until I reminded them. There was such an obvious lack of personal care, foresight, planning, and prevention from the time she was diagnosed with diabetes to her going through cardiac failure. They finally administered the diuretic which she responded well to. They also prescribed her another heart medication. At this point I told them frankly I cannot afford another medication because I have spent everything I have on diagnostics. Rather than simply give me the medication as a loyal client who has spent 5 years and over $15k with them, they said no problem! And to pick it up in two weeks. They never followed up, never checked on her, never set a follow up appointment, never told me what to look out for, never told me this was an emergency situation and she might not be able to go that long without medication, never gave me a preventive plan, never gave me her prognosis, never told me what this meant for her, never showed any personal care for her outside of monetary gain. When I picked up the Vetmedin, they gave me her dosage in mL but the syringe in lbs which shows they just don’t pay attention to the details. I asked for the correct dose - I administered her first dose of Vetmedin - and my sweet little baby suffered a heart attack and passed away at the emergency vet within the hour. I am so sad my little baby suffered so greatly this last year of her life with doctors that did not care about her personally and never prioritized her well-being. She passed away after taking prescribed medication. I was never told this would be a potential outcome for her. Now I will miss her forever.
Jul 04, 2025 · Bella RAmazing service. My cat doesn’t like the vet, like many of our animals, but the staff is so patient and make her very comfortable. Also affordable and great service. Mel especially always treats my cat amazingly and gives her lots of love and treats! Highly recommended!
Feb 16, 2025 · Spencer StewartMy dog needed stitches and initially I went to an emergency vet that was going to charge me over $2,000 for a couple of stitches. Instead I called ZippiVet and they found me an appointment the morning of the following day for more than half the price. They texted me the night before and helped answer all my questions. The day of they took such incredible care of him. I could hear them comforting him during the surgery and kept checking up on us during recovery. They even cut his nails for free and gave him to blanket to lay on in recovery. Everyone was so sweet and thoughtful and made me feel so at ease. Highly recommend.
