Abbott Animal Clinic has several features that make it a notable option for local pet owners. One of the most significant is the breadth of their services, which allows them to handle everything from routine care to advanced medical procedures. The ability to treat not just dogs and cats but also birds and exotics is a key highlight, as many clinics do not have this specialized knowledge. The presence of diagnostic tools like radiology and a fully stocked pharmacy on-site adds to the convenience and efficiency of care, allowing for faster diagnosis and treatment. However, the most compelling features are often found in the customer experiences. A positive review highlights a friendly and supportive staff, from the receptionists to the vet techs, who create a welcoming environment. The review also praises Dr. Javaid, noting that he was highly recommended and did not disappoint, instilling a sense of trust that the clinic genuinely cares for pets. This sense of trust is a vital component of a successful veterinarian-client relationship.

When choosing a veterinary clinic, Texans consider a variety of factors, from the range of services to the quality of customer care, especially during emergencies. The information available for Abbott Animal Clinic presents a mixed but important picture for potential clients. On one hand, the clinic’s comprehensive service offerings are a significant plus. The ability to handle everything from preventative care to complex orthopedic surgery, along with specialized care for exotics, makes it a versatile option. The positive review from a client praising the friendly staff and Dr. Javaid’s care for their dog, Callie, underscores that the clinic has the potential to provide a warm and welcoming experience. This speaks to a level of compassionate and competent care that many pet owners are seeking.
On the other hand, the negative review is a strong counterpoint and raises serious concerns, particularly regarding emergency care and customer service. The client’s description of a lack of urgency, a focus on immediate payment before an exam, a high-cost estimate with a lack of diagnosis, and a frightening altercation over paperwork paints a picture of a facility that may struggle with client communication and empathy during a crisis. The contrast with the experience at another clinic, which provided immediate, compassionate, and transparent care at a lower cost, is stark. This type of feedback is crucial for potential clients to consider, as it highlights a potential gap between the services offered and the execution of those services, particularly in high-stress situations. For pet owners in Texas who need a vet they can rely on for urgent, compassionate care, it is essential to weigh both types of reviews. While the clinic may be a good fit for routine appointments, the reported experience with an emergency suggests that pet owners should be prepared to consider alternative options for urgent needs to ensure their pet receives immediate, compassionate, and transparent medical attention.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Absolutely disgusting experience. This place should be shut down.I came in with my dog after a thunderstorm—he was stumbling, weak, and clearly in distress. I called ahead, and they quoted me $145 just to walk in, without even asking what was going on. That should’ve been the first red flag.I arrived carrying my dog in my arms, and not a single person looked up or approached us. No urgency. No compassion. Just paperwork and immediate payment—before anyone even laid eyes on my dog. This is supposed to be a medical facility? We waited about 15 minutes in an empty lobby. A tech took us back and checked his temperature. Then the so called-vet, Iqbal Javaid, DVM, came in, barely did a physical exam, and said he’d be back with a quote. When he returned, he handed me a nearly $800 estimate and still had no clue what was wrong with my dog. No explanation. No effort. Just a giant bill and vague suggestions for tests. When I took the quote and the vet’s notes to leave, he lost it. Literally shouted at me and tried to snatch the papers out of my hands. I had to RUN out of the clinic with my sick dog in my arms because this unprofessional man was physically trying to take back documents I needed for my records.I called UrgentVet in Cypress, got seen right away, paid $223 after the exam, plus full treatment, and —surprise—they actually cared. They checked my dog the moment I walked in, explained everything clearly, and treated him with the urgency he needed. No drama. Just real veterinary care. How can a place like this be an animal caring facility. Zero compassion, zero ethics, and zero business handling emergencies. If you love your pet, go anywhere else. And if you’ve had a horrible experience like I did—report them.
June 28 · yasmin escobarThis place is awesome. Staff is friendly and supportive. From the reception to vet techs are friendly and welcoming. Dr Javaid was highly recommended to me, and he did not disappoint. You can trust these folks to care for your babies. Thank you for helping us with Callie.
May 10 · Ty RStaff and Doctor are great. Because of their work with rescue groups, and it’s privately owned, I’m moving my personal pet care here. They don’t have the swankiest digs, but make up for it in caring service.
June 04 · Mike WI took my fur baby in not knowing that she would need emergency surgery. The team at Abbott Animal Clinic immediately took great care of her and for that I am grateful. Thanks to all the wonderful staff there from Coco and I.
March 29 · Kristi DavisMy kitty girl gets a UTI once every 2 years, almost like clockwork. I brought her in and they quoted me over $1,000 to run a ton of tests, the woman manhandled my baby, and the place overall was not good. I didn't see all the reviews until I was leaving and I took my baby away to another vet. The reviews are true: don't bring your baby here, you will be quoted for an insane amount of things and your baby will not be handled with care.
