Choosing a veterinary clinic involves careful consideration of theirservices, professionalism, and overall approach to care. Alpine AnimalHospital offers a compelling list of services that makes it a viableoption for many pet owners in the area. The positive experience of a newclient, whose one-year-old pup had a great first visit, speaks to thehospital's ability to provide high-quality, compassionate care. Thereceptionist was friendly, and the veterinary assistant was noted as beingboth kind and knowledgeable, showcasing a strong team dynamic. Theveterinarian, Dr. Wong, was praised for her thorough exam and her abilityto keep the dog calm, which is a crucial aspect of any vet visit. Thistype of positive interaction highlights the friendly, professionalatmosphere that Alpine Animal Hospital strives to maintain.
However, it is also important to consider the full picture. The accountof a client who experienced a major issue with an international healthcertificate highlights a serious point about administrative andcommunication failures. The sudden cancellation of a crucial appointmentdue to a key staff member's departure, with no notice or alternativesolutions provided, is a significant breakdown in service. While thismay not reflect the quality of the medical care itself, it does raiseconcerns about the clinic’s management, accountability, and reliabilityfor complex, time-sensitive matters. The dismissive response from thedirector further underscores a potential issue with customer service andtaking responsibility.
Ultimately, Alpine Animal Hospital presents a dichotomy. On one hand, ithas a strong medical foundation with a wide range of services, modernfacilities, and a professional, caring front-line staff who excel atmaking pets and their owners feel comfortable. On the other hand, thereported administrative issues suggest that clients should be prepared toadvocate for themselves, especially for complex or urgent non-medicalmatters. For routine care and typical emergencies, many clients willlikely find the care to be excellent, as noted by the positive review. Forthose with specific, high-stakes needs like international travel, it maybe prudent to have detailed confirmations in writing and contingency plansin place. For those in Oregon, Alpine Animal Hospital remains a keyresource, particularly for its convenience and comprehensive services.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I do not recommend trusting this clinic. I originally chose this veterinary hospital because I needed to obtain international health certificates for my cats before relocating to Thailand. I began preparing two months in advance, carefully confirming the steps and fees with their staff multiple times. I followed their process step by step and booked all required appointments. However, just two days before my scheduled appointment, I was informed that the appointment was canceled because the veterinarian authorized to issue health certificates had left. I received nothing but repeated “sorry” messages and vague acknowledgments like “we understand this is difficult,” but no directions, resources, or alternatives were provided. This left me scrambling. I had to put aside my work and spend days driving around Eugene and making phone calls, only to be told repeatedly that no clinics had availability or were accepting new patients. Meanwhile, my house was already rented out, my international flights were booked, and I had already spent over $4,000 on tickets and travel arrangements for myself and my two cats.I escalated my concerns to both the office manager and the executive director, but neither took accountability. When I explained the enormous stress and disruption their poor management caused me, the director even responded dismissively with: “That’s your worry, right?”It is not just a “worry” — it was my reality.I have used many vets before, and unfortunately this clinic stands out as the worst experience. Their lack of responsibility and care makes them not trustworthy to handle our beloved pets. I will continue filing formal complaints to the relevant business and veterinary boards, because they should not be allowed to operate with this level of disregard.
August 20 · XiaThis was our 1 year old pup’s first appointment at Alpine and it went really well. The receptionist was friendly and we went back on time. The assistant, Lavinia, was kind and so knowledgeable I thought she’d been there a long time but when asked she said she had been there for 6 months. She wrote down all of the questions we had for the veterinarian. Dr. Wong gave our dog a thorough exam, gave her the vaccines and answered all of our questions. Her friendly and kind demeanor kept our dog calm.
August 05 · Bkhc 54The staff was great, Dr. Burton was very thorough and checked out my concerns. The Tech was great with my dog and he liked them both!
August 17 · Vickie WestfallI took my rabbit in for a wellness check-up and was pleased with the service. The rabbit vet was knowledgeable and answered any questions I had. Wait time for check in was fast and the staff were friendly. I plan to keep taking my rabbit there as long as I'm in the area.
March 30 · Shaelyn CampbellAlpine Animal Hospital is no longer the animal hospital I was used to. I guess because I was used to the previous Veterinary but everything that the new Veterinary did was just about the opposite of what my previous vet , who I liked did things. I may go back if I can get the other vet and maybe I'll feel better about her. But I don't really think I'd go back to this particular vet. Plus it feels different also the previous staff seem to all get along and like each other or they did a really good job of Faking It. Well I was waiting for them to finish with my dog I got the distinct feeling that they were Whispering about somebody in the back and they were arguing about who is going to go back there and tell her whatever it was she needed to know.
