Amherst Animal Hospital Reviews
I had called to get a quote for a liver panel after doing an embark test the showed my dog has the variant ATP7B for Copper Toxicosis (Accumulating). Which of course freaked me out. Dakota picked up the phone and was amazing to say the least. He took his time to put all my worries at ease, explain what the test actually means and how we can keep an eye on it with blood work. He said it could be something that may never affect him. I’m paraphrasing of course because he told me things to look out for and things the doctor might recommend, he was very thorough! Today, Dakota put my mind at ease. With Nothing else showing up on my dogs health profile, I was sure this was how he was going to go and it was just a matter of when. I feel better knowing this may never affect him and he might just live to be an old man. Thank you, Dakota!
Apr 22, 2025 · T RThat have done a great job when we have boarded our German Shepard! Great people!
May 24, 2025 · J WarnerI'm from out of town. Got lost. Late for my appointment. Sooo, they still took my pet, 30 minutes late, during a busy period. Ellie and Dr Smith were so kind, caring and understanding I couldn't believe it. No judgement even though I'm from Michigan! 🫣 These folks are truly the best. I highly recommend them!
Apr 30, 2025 · Thomas BaroniWas told over the phone they were unable to give me a grooming appointment unless my puppy saw their vet, even after I told them she already has a vet and is updated on vaccines which I can show proof. And furthermore, my MIL goes to their groomer and doesn't see their vet. So I was lied too. Extremely rude male that answers the phone in the hospital area, since the grooming/boarding department doesn't ever know how to answer a phone ringing! Plus male needs way more training on phone etiquette and job skills. Didn't know anything!!!
Mar 24, 2025 · Kelly DanickiThe place smells of strong urine, and they lied to us about our cat having fleas just to get us to buy flea medication. This is the second time they did this to us with the whole flea issue. We went home and checked both the cats and everywhere in our house and there wasn’t a single flea anywhere. So we paid for two, three month doses of flea control for nothing. A total scam.I also wanted to get a food allergy test to see if our cat is allergic to anything in the foods we are feeding her. She throws up a lot. But the veterinarian shut it down immediately like I didn’t know what I was talking about. I’m sorry it didn’t work out for us, but I don’t recommend them. The snootiness was uncalled for. Also, after reading your comments in the reviews shows just how crazy you must be. Never saw anything like it before. Usually having the need to defend yourself on every review in rude ways, shows just how guilty you are. Not the type of people I want any of my cats around again. This is just to let you know our experience. Not to hurt your feelings or cause problems. This was our actual experience. Please take it into consideration for any of your other patients. Thank you very much for taking the time to read our review. Happy Holidays!!!
