★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1- I brought my cat of 13 years in earlier this year and Helms did save her life. But, just this last week my cat had a stroke. It was a Sunday so Helms met with me at the office and told me he felt it was best for her to go home with him to be ‘hospitalized’. I message the next morning asking when would be a good time to call to catch up on her wellbeing, he calls me a minute later and tells me she had passed away due to another stroke early that morning. They offer to handle her cremation for me, tells me it will be 280$. My family says that is too much and they find a place to do it for 160. I go to pay her bill and pick her up so i can handle the cremation myself, the lady at the front asks me who’s doing it, I tell her, come to find out it’s the SAME place they use. So firstly, extremely overcharging for handling the cremation services. And then, when they go to finally give her to me after paying the 400$+ vet bill, they hand me her lifeless body in a tied up trash bag. Maybe this is normal practice but it should not be. I understand possibly the bag being due to smells but at LEAST get some fabric/throw blanket to wrap the poor babies in. With how much the cremation is being overcharged, they can afford it. Nobody wants their lifelong pet/FAMILY MEMBER being handed to them in a literal trash bag. Helms also never spoke to me himself when i went to go pick her up. It felt disrespectful, inconsiderate, and just plain cruel. I will not be returning. May 16 · Kennedy Cole

- I came to Dr. Helms by necessity, he was not my usual vet. My dog was ran over and my usual vets were apparently too busy to help me. I didn't even know that was a "thing" but apparently so. I started googling other vets and came upon him. I called and they told me to bring him right in. When this happened, I was absolutely sure the vet was going to tell me to put him down. However, Dr. Helms advised me to give him some time. I'm so glad he did. He was decently priced, caring and smart. And what he wasn't sure of he took the time to call other specialist to find out. He's definitely not in the business for money. Im so grateful for him. He's the only vet that has ever called me back personally when I had a question. I'm so thankful he advised me to give my dog some time to heal. It was extremely traumatic and really rough for a while but my dog is now back to being happy and adapting to his new life. His staff is amazing, also. I will use this vet as long as he's in practice from this point forward. March 30 · kathleen imes

- They were great! Prices were reasonable but since everything is priced separately it did add up quickly. They also were able to cut his nails for $20 but for that price I was expecting a bit more but I was very thankful they were able to cut them at all. Overall great experience and we will be back!! - Super nice vet and receptionist. They were the only ones in town who would look at my bearded dragons tail when it was injured. Got him in immediately and were very informative. Followed up with me the next week to make sure he was doing better December 03 · bailey robinson
