Animal Friends Alliance Introduce
For Colorado pet owners, ensuring the health and happiness of our animals is a top priority. In Fort Collins, a place known for its love of the outdoors and its friendly community, the Animal Friends Alliance stands out as a true cornerstone of animal welfare. This organization is more than just a veterinary clinic; it is a full-service animal shelter and rescue that is deeply committed to both providing high-quality care and keeping pets in the loving homes they already have. As a women-owned non-profit, they operate with a mission to provide comprehensive companion animal resources and services, ensuring that every pet experiences a healthy home where they are wanted, cared for, and loved. They have built a reputation for compassion, professionalism, and affordability, which is essential for a community that values its furry, scaly, and feathered friends.
The philosophy of the Animal Friends Alliance is centered on a proactive approach to pet welfare. They understand that a pet’s health is intrinsically linked to their owner’s ability to provide care. This is why they offer a range of community support services alongside their medical care, like a pet food assistance program and low-cost spay/neuter procedures. This approach not only helps individual animals but also addresses the larger issue of pet homelessness in the community. Their dedication to reducing pet overpopulation and euthanasia rates through accessible veterinary care is a testament to their mission. The staff, known for being "loving and professional," fosters an environment where every animal is treated with kindness and respect, and where every owner feels supported and understood, regardless of their circumstances.
Animal Friends Alliance is located at 2321 E Mulberry St, Fort Collins, CO 80524. This location serves as their Mulberry Campus, which is the hub for their community pet resources and clinic. Its accessibility is a key feature, as the facility offers a wheelchair accessible entrance, a wheelchair accessible parking lot, and a wheelchair accessible restroom, ensuring that everyone in the community can access their services without barriers. The clinic is also proud to be LGBTQ+ friendly, creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all.
The clinic operates primarily by appointment, which is recommended to ensure you receive timely and dedicated service. They have a well-organized system for booking appointments, and they provide clear instructions and forms to make the process as smooth as possible.
Animal Friends Alliance offers a focused yet comprehensive suite of veterinary services, with an emphasis on preventative care and essential procedures that are critical for animal well-being and public health.
Spay and Neuter Procedures: Their primary service, offering low-cost, high-quality spay and neuter surgeries for both dogs and cats, performed by licensed Colorado veterinarians. This includes umbilical hernia repairs for dogs and cats.
Vaccinations: They provide core vaccinations, including Rabies, Distemper combo (DA2PPV), and FVRCP vaccinations through weekly clinics. They also offer Leukemia and Leptospirosis vaccines.
Preventative Health Care: This includes essential services like microchipping, heartworm testing and prevention, flea/tick and heartworm prevention, deworming, and parasite management. They also offer basic health exams as part of their services.
Other Medical Services: The clinic offers a range of medical treatments and diagnostic services, including blood testing and veterinary diagnostic imaging. They also provide pain medication and dental cleaning, with nail trims available during surgery.
Community Resources: Beyond direct veterinary care, they offer behavioral advice and training, pet food assistance through their Kibble Supply Pet Food Pantry, and support services to help keep pets in their homes.
What truly sets the Animal Friends Alliance apart are its mission-driven features and its commitment to the entire community. These highlights demonstrate their core values and dedication to animal welfare.
Affordable, Subsidized Care: The clinic's non-profit status allows them to provide high-quality services at a significantly lower cost than traditional private clinics, making essential care accessible to low-income pet owners, students, and the elderly.
The PAL+ Program: This "Prevent a Litter Plus" program provides financial assistance for spay/neuter procedures, vaccinations, and microchipping for pet owners who meet low-income qualifications, effectively breaking down financial barriers to care.
Community-Focused Mission: The organization’s primary goal is to prevent animal homelessness by supporting pet owners. This includes a pet food pantry, behavior advice, and support services to ensure pets can stay with the families that love them.
Adoption-Guarantee Shelter: In addition to their clinic, they operate an adoption-guarantee shelter for cats and dogs, ensuring that every animal they take in finds a permanent, loving home.
Compassionate and Professional Staff: As noted in customer reviews, the staff is known for being "loving and professional" and for their kind, friendly demeanor. They take the time to explain procedures and forms clearly, which is invaluable for clients.

What makes Animal Friends Alliance a magnificent place and a great choice for Colorado pet owners is its unique and impactful approach to animal care. Unlike a traditional for-profit clinic, their core mission is to serve the community and prevent animal suffering. One glowing review highlights the value of their PAL+ program, which "significantly lowered prices of the procedures to a manageable level" for a client with a limited income. This kind of life-changing support is a direct result of their non-profit model. Another reviewer simply stated the place is "just awesome" with "magnificent" staff who are "very loving and professional." This praise is not just about medical skill, but about the genuine care and kindness that makes a vet visit a positive experience, even for a sensitive cat. The combination of an adoption-guarantee shelter, a low-cost spay/neuter and vaccine clinic, and critical community resources like a pet food pantry, makes Animal Friends Alliance a comprehensive and invaluable asset. When you choose them, you are not just getting veterinary care; you are supporting a larger mission to create a compassionate community where all animals are healthy and loved. For pet owners who truly love their pets and want to partner with an organization that shares their values, Animal Friends Alliance is the perfect choice.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Brought my kitty Tripper in to get vaccinated and spayed and had a wonderful experience. They were really friendly and everything went as well as things could possibly go. All instructions, procedures, necessary forms and documents were easy to understand and given in a timely manner. I have a disability and my income is limited so I qualified for the pal+ program which significantly lowered prices of the procedures to a manageable level which I am very thankful for. A+ rating across the board from me 🙂
June 17 · Eric Haywoodmagnificent place!!!staff very loving and professional.I highly recommend this place to anyone who really loves there pets.just awesome...
July 10 · Mr DellThis is THE best place for low-cost vaccines! Any regular vet will charge at least double. I save big time because I have more than one dog and they need vaccines every year! My dogs like the drive through vaccine clinic because they stay in the car with me until it's time for them to see the vet and get their shots. Super professional organization with wonderful caring and compassionate staff.
June 17 · Susan PinkusI rented a trap and caught a feral kitty I feed and they made sure was spayed and vaccinated. They're so organized, friendly, professional, and more than reasonably priced. There's an option to donate the trap rental deposit to their organization too which I appreciate. Everything was easy and they provided really clear instructions. They also offer vaccines for pets for extremely reasonable prices. Photo of feral kitty in said trap.
March 30 · D AScheduled my pup to get fixed here. They are super friendly and prices are not bad. She got update on shots, fixed and microchipped.
