Absolutely love this clinic for our girls!We moved back to Metairie in July 2024 and needed a new clinic for our two dogs: Kiwi and Peaches.The staff and doctors have been amazing to our girls, especially Kiwi! Kiwi is very reactive and fearful in veterinary situations, and AHOM has made sure she is comfortable and safe every step of the way! We went from having to sedate her before she even walked into the clinic to her being able to go in with no sedation. Cannot recommend Animal Hospital of Old Metairie enough!!

Absolutely best care I have recieved for my 11 year old drooly boy!!!! Growing up on a farm in a small town I was use to having a vet who listened to me about my concerns for my pet, understood my needs, and took the time to get to know my pets and show me the best way to take care of them. When I moved away from home I realized I had a luxury and that service was not common. I have tried several vets with my big lug of a handsome boy, He is reactive not aggressive, a larger drooly breed, not the cuddliest-despite his face, and one I have worked hard with. I always take top precautions to make sure both Jaxon and the vet team are safe and comfortable ( sedatives, muzzle, I hold his head during shots) and I explain and ask for him not to be man handled. My recent vets kept dismissing my concerns for lumps and elder care for my dog, would man handle him- causing days of regression in our training. So I went on the hunt again, I was suggested this vet by a friend at work. I was nervous given the area, beautiful old Metairie, and felt we would not fit into the clientele and be dismissed again. I was completely wrong!!! Both Jaxon and I were treated with top quality care and respect from day One. Kimberly and her team listened about possible triggers and they would come into the room, keep their distance, and let Jaxon come to them. They took their time, they listened to my concerns, when so many others called me a "high anxiety pet owner"- Kimberly and the team made me feel seen, valued, and my concerns valid. They sent follow up messages after each appointment, they regularly check on us and guarentee we have the medication he needs to make his chunky 11 year old body comfortable and keep him spunky. we walked in and felt like we belonged, we mattered, and seeing a team love my dog from afar and respect him and his needs is my absolute favorite!! I recommend Kimberly and her team to anyone that asks.

I always have a good experience here with my pets. All of the staff I’ve interacted with have been so nice, and they were great with my fearful foster dog. They made sure to take their time with her to cause the least amount of stress possible, while still being very thorough. They have always been able to get me in for an appointment pretty quickly too! Would highly recommend.

I was having an emergency situation with my dog Charlie, and the Low Cost Animal Clinic wouldn't take him and referred me to some emergency clinic that wanted to change $200 for a consulting fee first. I was so upset crying, hung up and called this hospital.I spoke to Mallory at the Animal Hospital who was very kind and caring. She gave me an appointment immediately to one of their offices, but I decided to go 1st thing the next morning. All I can say is that this place is the best!!! Charlie's feeling better and they checked him out thoroughly!!!
