Animal Spay & Neuter Introduce
In the beautiful landscapes of California, where communities are dedicated to responsible pet ownership, a crucial service like spaying and neutering is a cornerstone of animal welfare. Animal Spay & Neuter, a non-profit animal hospital in Auburn, has been a pillar of the community since 1993. Our mission is clear and heartfelt: to combat pet overpopulation and reduce the suffering of abandoned animals by providing affordable and accessible spay and neuter services. We are more than just a clinic; we are a dedicated team that serves the public, rescue groups, and shelters, working tirelessly to ensure that every cat and dog has a chance at a healthy, peaceful life.
We understand that for many, the cost of veterinary care can be a significant barrier. Our non-profit model allows us to offer essential surgical and wellness services at a fraction of the cost of traditional veterinary hospitals. Our staff, driven by a genuine love for animals, is committed to providing a high standard of care in every procedure. We believe that being a responsible pet owner should be within everyone's reach, and we strive to make this a reality for the residents of Auburn and the surrounding areas. Our work has directly impacted the lives of countless animals, from stray felines to family pets, and we are proud to be a part of a movement that is creating a better future for our animal companions.
Animal Spay & Neuter is conveniently located at 3524 KOA Way, Auburn, CA 95602, USA. Our facility is situated to be easily reachable for local residents and those from neighboring communities. We have prioritized accessibility to ensure that all pet owners can bring their animals in for care with as little difficulty as possible. Our hospital features a wheelchair-accessible car park, a wheelchair-accessible entrance, and a wheelchair-accessible toilet, providing a comfortable and accommodating experience for all our clients. Because we are a high-volume clinic with a dedicated mission, we require appointments for most of our services. This allows us to manage our schedule effectively and provide focused, efficient care to each animal.
Our clinic specializes in spay and neuter surgeries, but we also provide a range of other essential services to support the health and well-being of dogs and cats. Our services are designed to be comprehensive while remaining affordable for the community. Our services include:
- Spay and Neuter Surgeries: This is our core service, and we perform a high volume of spay and neuter surgeries for both cats and dogs. These procedures are critical for preventing unwanted litters and can help reduce the risk of certain cancers and other health issues.
- Vaccine and Wellness Clinic: We offer routine vaccinations, including distemper and parvo for dogs and feline leukemia for cats. These are crucial for preventing serious, life-threatening diseases.
- Preventative Health Services: We provide essential preventative care, such as flea and tick control, heartworm testing and prevention, and microchipping, which is a key tool for reuniting lost pets with their families.
- Surgical Procedures: In addition to spay and neuter services, we are equipped to handle other minor surgical needs, such as hernia repair.
- Compassionate End-of-Life Care: We understand that euthanasia is one of the most difficult decisions a pet owner can face. Our staff is known for their kindness and compassion, ensuring that pets and their families are supported and that the process is as quick and peaceful as possible.
Animal Spay & Neuter is a unique and valuable resource in the community, with several features that set us apart. Our highlights include:
- Non-Profit Mission: Our entire operation is driven by a commitment to animal welfare and reducing pet overpopulation, not by profit. This focus allows us to offer services at a significantly lower cost.
- Dedicated and Compassionate Staff: Our team is widely praised for their kindness and empathy, especially during difficult times. They are dedicated to helping pets in need and providing support to pet owners.
- Experience and Efficiency: By specializing in spay and neuter procedures, our veterinarians and staff have extensive experience, allowing them to perform surgeries with high efficiency and skill.
- Community Impact: We play a vital role in supporting local animal welfare, assisting not only the general public but also rescue groups and feral cat colonies, which helps reduce the strain on local animal shelters.
- Accessibility: Our facility's commitment to accessibility, including wheelchair-accessible amenities, ensures that everyone in the community can access our crucial services.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1My daughter rescued a stray cat and cared for him for three weeks before bringing him to this clinic. He wasn’t healthy, but he was doing much better than when she first found him — eating regularly, gaining some weight, and starting to show signs of recovery.During the exam, the vet noted that he was an older cat, extremely underweight, and had a lump in his abdomen, which she said could possibly be cancer. She did mention that, given his condition, it wasn’t necessary for him to be fully vaccinated. However, I told her we had a vet appointment scheduled, and they were requesting that he be vaccinated. She proceeded to give him the rabies vaccine. That same night, he started to decline. He stopped eating, and just two days later, he passed away.We were never told that vaccinating a sick or possibly terminal cat could further compromise his immune system or accelerate his decline. If we had been given that information, we wouldn’t have gotten him vaccinated.I’m incredibly grateful for services like this that help provide care for animals in need. But in cases like this, when an animal is clearly ill, the risks of vaccination should be clearly communicated.I trusted that we were making the right decision by following through with what was requested, but I wish the potential consequences had been fully explained. I’ll carry that regret with me, and I hope sharing this helps others ask the questions I didn’t know to ask. I also hope that the clinic takes this as an opportunity to clearly inform others in the future about the risks of vaccinating animals who are already sick or compromised, so no one else has to go through what we did.
July 25 · EH ImportsI have taken care of 2 colonies about 25 to 30 animals all by myself with my own money over the past 20 years. Animal spay and Neuter was a miracle for me. Anyone who is low income that takes on caring for other people's selfish and monsterous deeds of abandoning, neglecting, abusing animals knows where I am coming from. Auburn Animal/spay/neuter FIXED almost all the felines I cared for along with Feildhaven another feline charity. All of these cats lived out their lives in peace and freedom some reaching 15 and 16 years old. I believe it was because of the early care Auburn spay and Neuter provided them for their start in this world. Euthanasia is difficult because of becoming attached but again I was able to get it done quickly to ease pain and staff always so kind and their for you. I was always not sure being with ferals you can't tell if u r being cruel or if there is something u can stll do...but the staff always there to help assure you and sway you that when it's time it's time. So as much as I want to keep this place a secret...I have to tell the person out there like me...this is the place u r looking for.

May 27 · J JWe brought our dog Cecil to Animal Spay &Neuter to be neutered. They were friendly and very professional. We had checked with our vet about having Cecil neutered and they had given us a quote for for $730. Animal Spay &Neuter only charged us $176 and that included getting him micro chipped. We absolutely recommend Animal Spay &Neuter to anyone needing these important services for you pets. 😍🥰😍🥰
