Arizona Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Center Introduce
In Arizona, where our pets are not just companions but integral parts of our families, a sudden illness or accident can be a terrifying experience. When a pet is in a critical state, every second counts, and having access to a reliable, expert-level emergency and critical care center is a lifeline. The Arizona Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Center (AVECCC), located in Peoria, is designed specifically for these high-stakes situations. Unlike a regular veterinary clinic that has set hours, AVECCC operates 24/7, with a dedicated team of professionals ready to handle everything from post-surgical complications to sudden, life-threatening conditions. They are a referral hospital for primary care veterinarians and an essential resource for pet owners when their regular vet is closed.
The nature of emergency medicine means that wait times and costs are often significant concerns, and it's important for pet owners to understand how these factors are managed in a critical care environment. As highlighted in a customer review, some pet owners have experienced long waits, with one mentioning an 8 to 12-hour wait for a non-critical laceration. However, as the review also acknowledges, critical care patients are always prioritized. When a pet is brought in post-surgery in a critical state, the staff is thorough and caring, and as one grateful pet owner shared, they "literally saved my dog's life." The staff's focus on life-saving measures and their clear communication during these stressful moments are often praised. The wait times, while frustrating, are a direct result of the triage system that places the most severely ill or injured animals at the top of the priority list.
The cost of emergency and critical care is another significant point of feedback. One reviewer expressed their frustration with "astronomical" fees, citing charges of $5,000 per day for a diabetic dog and $1,300 for a laceration stitch. This is a common reality in veterinary emergency medicine, where advanced diagnostics, continuous monitoring, and specialized treatment are required. These facilities have highly trained staff, including board-certified specialists, and expensive equipment that are necessary for saving lives. While a pet owner may understandably feel the financial strain, the costs reflect the intensive, life-saving care provided. The center's ability to handle these critical situations, like bringing a dog back from "death's door," is a testament to the high level of care, which comes at a premium. The availability of payment options such as credit cards, debit cards, and NFC mobile payments can offer some convenience, but pet insurance is always a recommended consideration for pet owners to help manage these unexpected expenses.
Arizona Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Center is located at 7823 W Golden Ln, Peoria, AZ 85345, USA. The facility is designed for accessibility, with a wheelchair-accessible entrance, parking lot, and restroom, ensuring a smooth process for all visitors. The clinic also has other locations in Gilbert and Buckeye, all of which are open 24/7 for emergencies.
You can contact the Peoria location directly by phone at (602) 491-1928 or on their mobile line at +1 602-491-1928. Given the nature of emergency care, there is no need to make an appointment; you should bring your pet in immediately if you believe they are in a critical state.

The positive outcomes highlighted by pet owners who have had their dogs' lives saved demonstrate that the investment in care is often worth it. For residents of Peoria and the surrounding Arizona communities, this hospital serves as a crucial component of the pet healthcare network, providing a safety net when regular veterinarians are closed or when a pet's condition is beyond the scope of a general practice. The center's dedication to saving lives, its highly trained staff, and its advanced capabilities make it a vital resource for any pet owner who wants to be prepared for the worst and have a trusted, expert team on their side.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I brought my dog in there last weekend, he was in critical condition post surgery. They were thorough and caring, and took every step necessary to ensure he would be OK. The communication was great, and they literally saved my dog’s life. I am so grateful and appreciative of this wonderful hospital and it’s staff.
August 09 · Dawn St. AmantWaiting room was ridiculously long. I understand that critical care patients come first but 8-12 hours+ is too much. Hire more help.2nd is cost. Do you people really have to charge an astronomical amount of money?? You charged $5,000 per day for our diabetic dog and $1300 to stitch my dogs laceration that we had to wait 12 hours to do.I honestly think it’s so ridiculous that you all are making a killing off of us. We love our pets but your costs probably cause many people to euthanize their pets due to the fact most cannot afford your fees. I am positive you could be a little more affordable.Waiting area is comfortable but the rooms are cold and uncomfortable. You would think some of the money you make could be used towards making rooms more comfortable for humans and their pets. Our diabetic dog was critical but somehow was pushed aside for hours. My other dog had a deep laceration that took 12 hour to stitch. It’s unbelievable and disgraceful. You all need to charge a little less so we can afford to keep our pets healthy.
July 07 · Brenda McCurryWe were able to have our dog looked at quickly and only spent two hrs there. The doctor gave us options and recommendations regarding his hernia. We were able to take him home pain free with medication until he could make his next vet appointment. Great place to take your pet any time of day. Staff was super courteous and gentle with everything
August 21 · Veronica DriscollI loved my experience! Dr Timothy Betkowski was awesome. He took his time explaining everything to me. Staff was great and caring. I definitely recommend them. I will use them again!
August 25 · Rose CarrMy GSD, Sebastian, was ruined by our local vet from wearing a muzzle. He was such a sweet, loving young pup, but was surprised & without me being asked or knowing, put in one for shots & an exam. Now, he's 4 years old, 100lbs and HATES the vet. I found a tick on him and knew I had to take him to AVECCC. I love them! Our former GSD passed away there & they were SO caring and compassionate, and our 17 year old kitty had to stay multiple days when he was very dehydrated. They're AMAZING!! Sebastian is just like me, resistant to medication. Even after a large first dose, we couldn't put a muzzle or cone on him for safety while the tick would be removed from his side. After a second dosage with additional meds, it worked! I can't thank the doctor, nurse, front desk, EVERYONE enough!!! They were all SO understanding and didn't get frustrated or send us away after a difficult situation (like our vet had in the past). I absolutely LOVE their care and compassion!! If you need emergency care, PLEASE, AVECCC is the place to trust and rely upon! I wouldn't go anywhere else for emergency pet care. I've told them I wish I could bring my pets for routine care, as well. They're THAT incredible!!! Another GIGANTIC THANK YOU to everyone involved!!! We can't say thank you enough! And please know, Sebastian is an absolute sweetheart if you're playing ball with him in his yard (once you've been invited in). We seriously would love you all to come for a pool party/BBQ!! Sending so much gratitude & love!Kristy, Sebastian & family ❤️🐾❤️🐾PS-Pics are Sebastian at AVECCC, falling asleep and at home, with a favorite ball!
