Arnold L. Wittstein, DVM, CVA Introduce
For pet owners in Oregon, finding the right veterinary care often means looking beyond conventional medicine to explore all possible options for their animal's well-being. Arnold L. Wittstein, DVM, CVA, offers a unique and highly specialized approach to pet health, focusing on holistic and alternative therapies. Dr. Wittstein’s practice in Philomath is centered on Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM), including acupuncture and herbal medicine. This focus provides a powerful complement to standard medical care, offering new avenues for managing chronic pain, injuries, and long-term conditions. It's a place where ancient wisdom meets modern veterinary practice to help pets live healthier, more comfortable lives.
The practice is built on a philosophy of partnership and comprehensive care. Dr. Wittstein works closely with pet owners to develop a personalized treatment plan that addresses the root cause of an issue, not just the symptoms. A customer's story about their 15-year-old cat, Gus, who suffered a spinal injury, perfectly illustrates this. After traditional hospital care, Dr. Wittstein’s acupuncture sessions were "very influential in helping Gus get back to regular activity." The benefits extended beyond the initial injury, helping with the cat’s arthritis, chronic pancreatitis, and kidney disease. This integrated approach, which can also include Traditional Chinese dietary therapy, shows a deep commitment to the overall health and vitality of each animal.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1My 15 year old cat injured himself in the back yard ( spinal compression injury). He spent 2 nights in kitty hospital and other week being treated at home. Dr Wittstien was able to get him in quickly and has been very influential in helping Gus get back to regular activity. The acupuncture sessions have helped with the initial injury as well as his arthritis, coat texture, chronic pancreaticitis, and chronic kidney disease. Gus is so relaxed after the acupuncture sessions he naps or pursuing and slow blinks for entire the 50 min drive home. I look forward to many more years with Gus. Thank you Dr Wittstein.
August 09 · Lillian JeffsArnold has been a real partner in my dogs health. Giving us added months and years of an active lifestyle. He's gotten us in on urgent, probably lifesaving appointments, been flexible, supportive, informative, and really truly made a difference for neuro and osteo pain levels. Guapo, Freckles, and Gideon say thank you!
May 13 · BadDog BrigadeI can't say enough positive things about our experience. The doctor has a kind, easy way with animals. My dog is very sweet but still was nice to see her take right to him. Such a holistic approach, so much explanation and information given. It was more inclusive than I anticipated and I'm beyond excited to have a new avenue to try for my dog's pain management. Our regular vet is wonderful but they've tried everything and she's still suffering. She's 12yo and has significant arthritis in her elbows, back and TPLO surgery on one back leg. How amazing that we have this opportunity in our area. I couldn't have asked for more. Highly recommend.
