Cold Laser Therapy: Available for pain relief and promoting incision healing.
Nail Trims: A basic grooming service provided.
The Atlantic County SPCA possesses several distinctive features and highlights that make it a notable establishment for pet care in New Jersey.
Affordable Pricing and Financial Accessibility: A standout highlight, repeatedly praised by customers, is their commitment to reasonable and affordable prices. One reviewer explicitly states, "You are so reasonable with your prices that people can afford to take their pets there." This directly aligns with their mission to enable access to veterinary care for low-income pet owners, making quality services attainable without imposing prohibitive costs. This is crucial for maintaining the health of pets in diverse economic situations.
Compassionate and Gentle Care: The staff's approach to animals is consistently described as "kind, gentle, loving and caring." For example, a long-term client notes, "I always take my rescue dog Joy there for her shots and dental work and you are outstanding with her. You are so kind, gentle, loving and caring with her." This feedback emphasizes a nurturing environment that can significantly reduce stress for pets during veterinary visits, which is vital for their overall well-being and willingness to return.
Transparency and No Hidden Costs: Clients appreciate the clear communication regarding services and costs. The review highlights, "They take the time to explain everything and there is no hidden cost." This builds trust and ensures that pet owners can make informed decisions about their pet's care without unexpected financial burdens.
Clean and Well-Maintained Facility: The physical environment also contributes to a positive experience, with one reviewer noting, "It’s very clean and neat inside for the animals." A clean and organized clinic reflects professionalism and care for both patients and clients.
Dedication to Animal Welfare: Beyond individual pet care, the SPCA's broader mission to help "all the beautiful animals and making sure they are healthy" resonates deeply with those who support animal welfare initiatives. This overarching commitment to the community's animal population, particularly through affordable services and educational outreach, makes them more than just a vet clinic; they are a vital community partner.
It is important to acknowledge that there is a contrasting review that details a severely negative experience involving communication issues, perceived judgment, and refusal of services, particularly concerning a homeless family and their aggressive dog needing euthanasia. This review highlights significant concerns about staff demeanor ("most judgemental person I have EVER met," "blaming us for the whole situation," "shamed me for being homeless and not having a job, called me names, called my family names"), adherence to agreements (changing mind about free euthanasia), and accessibility ("refuses to see either dog or put down our aggressive dog," "will not answer the phone"). This suggests a highly inconsistent client experience for some individuals, particularly those in vulnerable situations.

For residents of Egg Harbor Township and the surrounding areas in New Jersey, the Atlantic County SPCA presents itself as a highly suitable option for veterinary care, particularly for those seeking affordable and compassionate services. Its primary strength lies in its non-profit mission to provide accessible veterinary care, offering significantly reasonable prices for a wide range of services, from routine vaccinations and dental work to more complex surgeries. This commitment to affordability is a critical factor for many local pet owners, ensuring that financial constraints do not prevent their pets from receiving necessary medical attention.
Furthermore, numerous positive reviews consistently praise the staff for their kindness, gentleness, and caring approach toward animals, creating a comfortable and trusting environment. The transparency in pricing and explanations of services also contributes to a positive client experience, building trust and peace of mind. The clinic's cleanliness and dedication to the broader welfare of animals in the community further enhance its appeal.
However, it is crucial for potential clients to be aware of the extremely negative feedback from one individual, which details severe issues with judgmental behavior, refusal of services, and a lack of empathy, especially towards a family experiencing homelessness. While this stands in stark contrast to other reviews, it highlights potential inconsistencies in client interactions.
Despite this contrasting experience, for many in the community, the Atlantic County SPCA remains a vital resource. Its core mission, coupled with its generally well-regarded affordable and compassionate care, makes it a valuable asset for local pet owners. If you are looking for an accessible veterinary service that aims to provide quality care without breaking the bank, and are comfortable navigating potential inconsistencies in client service, the Atlantic County SPCA in Egg Harbor Township is certainly worth considering for your pet's health needs.

Apr 11, 2024 · Calli VottaWorst place I've ever been to in my entire life. Nancy is the most judgemental person I have EVER met. My family and I are homeless and went to her out of recommendation from someone because we had to put our aggressive dog with bad hips down and she refused to do it, instead she prolonged it, and gave her meds that didn't help. She said if they don't help she was going to put the dog down for free, but then she changed her mind last minute and was going to charge us $150 including taking the body. Obviously we couldn't afford that, so we didn't do anything or go back. She was more interested in bashing our lifestyle and telling us to get a job like it's that easy nowadays. She also told me, someone who has major back problems, to get a job and called me lazy. Fast forward to a while later, our aggressive dog attacked our other healthy dog and she now has an infected hole in her nose and mouth and Nancy REFUSES to see either dog or put down our aggressive dog and is also blaming us for the whole situation instead of taking the blame herself. If she just listened to us in the first place none of this would have happened. I can't even take my dog to the vet because I have no money. I called her up again and she will not answer the phone, not even after she argued with me, repeatedly blamed me, shamed me for being homeless and not having a job, called me names, called my family names, AND refuses to take responsibility for anything. I would never recommend this place ever. Unless you want to be judged and shamed or see your anime die.
May 08, 2025 · Gk LongIf i could put 0 stars i would! Please read if you are thinking about coming here! DO NOT COME HERE!!!!! I will NEVER EVER come here or recommend this business. I brought my kitten there to get her shots and to get fixed, and after picking her up i noticed she was absolutely petrified. They told me that she was being difficult, obviously shes never been around other people she is an inside cat), so they told me they "boxed" her. I dont know exactly what that means, or how they actually treated her during her surgery. But afterwards- FOR DAYS my kitten was so scared, and just overall petrified. She freaked out when anyone came near her or tried to touch her. Even now weeks after she is completely healed from surgery, she still is skiddish and just overall not the same kitty i had before i brought her here! All i can say is that i will NEVER bring another one of my animals there EVER AGAIN, or recommend them to ANYONE!!! Also they randomly added in a charge for her being difficult at the end of the service which was not talked about beforehand. You people are horrible and i hope everyone sees this review before coming to you. I am genuinely disgusted with how you treated my kitten. You people should not have a business.
Feb 12, 2025 · Alyssa GrasTold my grandmother that her cat was perfectly healthy and nothing is wrong with him when she took him in (due to losing weight) & he died two months later from severe kidney issues. Was told from his real vet if he had help earlier they could have done something.
