Banfield Pet Hospital Reviews
The staff and Dr's are great. Explain everything and answer any questions. Only complaint is it takes FOREVER to check in. You saw my dog 2 weeks ago. No, nothing has changed.Same phone address etc. Instructions from 3 people including a call from Dr regarding post op for spay. Took 40 minutes to check in and 50 minutes to check out. That doesn't include waiting behind others before me. There' must be a better way, better flow

Apr 26, 2025 · Kendra CarboneIf I could give this place negative stars I would. They have seen all of my animals for routine check ups down to surgeries. I will NEVER bring my animals back to this place. I reached out to them prior to coming because our senior dog kind of took a drastic turn in her health and was barely moving, not eating etc. they told us to bring her in. They said they didn’t have any “in room appointments” other than 1:30pm. I told them that was not going to work because we have children who get out of school an hour later. I asked what other options we had as I didn’t know what was going on with her. Whether it was something that could be treated, down to old age and we wanted her seen as soon as possible. They said we could do a drop off, they would look at her and call and plan for treatment etc. My husband gets there and brings her in, which we had to bring her in her crate because she was too weak to walk which I previously stated. She ended up defecting herself unfortunately on the way into the building. They turned away my dying dog. We had to rush her elsewhere just to have to put her to sleep. This place is full of monsters. How are you a “pet hospital” but turn away a dying dog and the pet owners who have no idea what’s going on with their pet. Because YOU didn’t want to have to clean her up. This place is horrible.
Mar 25, 2025 · Shauna MillerDr. Gomberg is a very, very good vet and truly cares about the animals. She helped me through a very rough treatment for my sick kitty. If it weren't for her and the other members of the team my kitty probably wouldn't have made it.
Dec 23, 2023 · Alexxis McHughI brought my 4.5yo German Wirehaired Pointer in the day after Thanksgiving when it seemed like she might have injured her left hind leg. She was limping and refusing to put weight on it, so assuming the worst, my partner and I dropped her off around 11am for x-rays and waited to hear the news.Around 4pm, we got a call from Banfield saying that the vet had simply looked at and touched her leg and "just knew" her cruciate ligament had torn, no x-ray needed. They told us she was ready to pick up, but when I arrived, I had to wait over 20 minutes for the vet to submit the notes so my dog could leave. When I got her outside, it was clear that she had not been out to go to the bathroom since we dropped her off that morning, which is unacceptable. Banfield had recommended that we drive over an hour away to Pattersonville so that our dog could have emergency surgery, but luckily, my intuition lead me to Burnt Hills Veterinary Hospital, where my dog promptly received x-rays and the very good news that her cruciate ligament had not torn, nor was there anything else wrong with her, and she would be fine with some rest and gabapentin.Fast-forward 2 weeks and I'm trying to get the gabapentin refilled quickly and efficiently but because Banfield is incapable of recognizing that 2 people might share ownership of an animal, I'm apparently not allowed to request the medication through Chewy because they can't find any of my pets under my name or number in their system. And apparently they can't just change the primary account user because that would simply be asking for a miracle, and they don't perform those there. Lesson learned - I will never accidentally have my partner set up vet accounts when I'm the one that does the primary appointment making and med ordering.TL;DR: Save yourself the time and headache of dealing with the inept and unhelpful kids at Banfield and just go straight to Burnt Hills Vet instead.
