Choosing Banfield Pet Hospital for your pet's care comes with both notable advantages and important considerations. For many in the Oregon community, the key benefit is the convenience and affordability offered through the Optimum Wellness Plans®. These plans can simplify budgeting for routine care and provide a consistent framework for keeping your pet healthy. A client review highlights this, stating they have been with Banfield for over two years and the team has been "nothing but wonderful with my fur babies." This suggests that for many, the consistent and structured approach to care is highly beneficial.
However, it is crucial for potential clients to be aware of the full spectrum of experiences. While some find the service to be wonderful, others have reported negative experiences, particularly regarding communication and perceived upselling of services. One detailed review points to issues with inconsistent diagnoses, lack of clarity on treatment plans, and frustration with service fees for visits where no treatment was administered. This feedback underscores the importance of clear communication and the need for pet owners to advocate for their animals. The review also notes that the practice is not a good fit for complex or chronic conditions, and that for serious issues, a second opinion from a different vet may be necessary. For those considering Banfield, it is important to weigh the convenience and structured plans against these potential challenges. Ultimately, for pet owners who prioritize a standardized preventative care model and find the Optimum Wellness Plans® a good fit for their budget, Banfield Pet Hospital in Eugene can be a very convenient and effective choice. For others, it may be worth considering the feedback and speaking with the staff directly about specific needs and concerns to ensure a positive experience.

July 25 · Ami EsserI’ve had a couple of negative experiences with this location. I initially brought in a kitten that was later diagnosed with Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP). They referred me to a neurologist and told me the treatment would cost tens of thousands of dollars, including an MRI and lifelong medication.I contacted the breeder and shared this information, but they disagreed with the diagnosis costs and treatment. I then got a second opinion from a different vet, who reviewed the documentation and observed my cat’s behavior. That vet prescribed a $200 treatment for FIP with no MRI, x-rays, or neurologist needed, and my cat significantly improved after starting the medication.About a month later, I received a call from Banfield saying my cat was overdue for his vaccination series. I explained that he was still undergoing FIP treatment and asked if he could still receive vaccinations. I was told yes, so I scheduled an appointment. After waiting an hour at the clinic, the vet came in and mentioned several new concerns: possible gingivitis that might require removing all of his teeth, a potential heart murmur, and the need for a $1,000 sonogram. Then they informed me that because he was on FIP medication, they actually could not proceed with his vaccinations. The only reason I came in was for that shot, something I had confirmed in advance was okay. Despite this, I was still charged $71 for the visit. I explained that I would not have came in had I known they could not administer the vaccination, but the person at checkout did not seem to care or even acknowledge my concerns. This experience was a waste of time and money and it left me questioning the quality and consistency of care at this location.
July 10 · Cody BlackIf there was a 0 star that is what I would give this place. I took my dog in for a dental cleaning and when I picked her up they had removed over 4 to 5 of her teeth they never called or consulted prior doing this so upsetting I have discontinued services after dog was there foe over 5 hours drop off for.some itching of her paw. After 5 hours they called me and said I would need to reschedule. apparently they were backed up because they gave another dog the wrong amount of meds and put him in cardiac arrest. This scared me that I will never take pet there I would suggest finding other care .
August 02 · Heather T.Banfield at Chad Dr. has been wonderful. Each of the doctors shows compassion and love for our 3 cats and one dog. Not all of the pets love it, but we appreciate them a lot for the care they provide.
March 21 · Michael SheetzOur. dog Riley has been going to Banfield since she was a puppy and I can't recommend them more. The staff has always been very kind and helpful.
