Banfield Pet Hospital aims to provide a consistent experience across its many locations, and the Charlotte J M Keynes Dr clinic shares some of these general features, with varied customer experiences highlighting both strengths and areas for improvement.
- Convenient Online Appointment Booking: A significant highlight mentioned by a positive reviewer is the ease of scheduling. "It was easy to make an appointment on the banfield website and to see locations near me with open availability!" This digital convenience is a major benefit for busy pet owners.
- Network Accessibility (with caveats): The idea that "any location could assist me with things like refills" is part of Banfield's network appeal. However, one review indicates that while this may be the policy, the execution at this specific location could be inconsistent, requiring calls back to "the original location." This suggests a potential variance in customer service for certain cross-location requests.
- Helpful Pre-Visit Communication: One positive experience cited "helpful phone calls before and throughout my dog's drop-off visit." This proactive communication can greatly assist pet owners in preparing for appointments and staying informed.
- Structured Wellness Plans (OWP): While not directly mentioned in these reviews, Banfield's Optimum Wellness Plans are a core feature, designed to provide comprehensive preventive care on a subscription basis, which can be a financial advantage for proactive pet owners.
- Potential Customer Service Inconsistencies: One significant piece of feedback points to "WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!" regarding specific front desk interactions, particularly concerning prescription refills and reprinting documentation. This indicates that while the veterinary care itself might be sound, the administrative aspect of customer service can vary and potentially lead to frustration for some clients.
- Drop-off Visit Model: The mention of a "dog's drop-off visit" suggests this location may utilize this model for certain appointments, which can be convenient for owners with busy schedules, allowing them to leave their pet for a period and pick them up later.

Banfield Pet Hospital Reviews
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!! The people who work at the front desk are very unhelpful. I thought if my pet was seen at Banfield, that any location could assist me with things like refills. I was right when I confirmed with another location. Anyway, these folks made me call the original location I took my dog to be seen last just so they can renew a prescription food card. They said I would have to call and didn’t want to help me at all. I sat there and made my phone call which took 2 minutes (wasn’t a big deal) and the other location was questioning why I was doing so. Also, when they transferred the record and printed the card out for me the ‘use by’ date was cut off and they wouldn’t reprint it. Anyhow, probably won’t ever come back to this location.
Mar 17, 2025 · Hania Brelandit was easy to make an appointment on the banfield website and to see locations near me with open availability! this location provided helpful phone calls before and throughout my dog's drop-off visit. I had a great first experience with Banfield
Feb 07, 2025 · Jacqueline MontoyaIf I could leave 0 stars, I would. I am writing this with heartfelt sadness and utter disappointment. We’ve been on the Banfield/PetSmart Wellness Plan, trusting that it would provide the care and support our dog, Jojo, needs. Every visit, we’ve been assured that they are there to help in emergencies. This is the biggest lie. After Jojo’s recent comprehensive exam at the Highland Commons location, something felt off. For the first time ever, they actually called us to check on Jojo after the visit—which we found very strange. Then, we noticed Jojo had sustained an injury after that exam. Alarmed, we rushed him to the nearest Banfield location, which was this one, expecting immediate care and concern.Instead, we were met with carelessness. The staff told us they couldn’t take Jojo in because they were “almost closing” and had “no appointments available.” This is an emergency, and yet they turned us away as if Jojo’s health and well-being didn’t matter. Their dismissive attitude and lack of empathy were absolutely appalling. For a service that constantly claims to prioritize pet health and well-being, this experience showed us how hollow those promises truly are. We trusted Banfield to take care of Jojo, and instead, we were met with negligence and disappointment. It breaks my heart to know that Jojo didn’t receive the care he deserved when he needed it the most.I cannot recommend this location—or Banfield in general—to anyone who truly cares about their pets.
Jan 09, 2025 · Srilekha MutharajuIf I could give this place, no stars I would. I found lumps under my cat internally. She wasn’t holding down any of her food. She is a 15-year-old cat. I brought her in to be put down.. I knew there was something seriously wrong . I have been this cats parent for so long.. I bought a whole bunch of soft cat food for sensitive stomachs. Due to the vet recommendation. instead of listening to what I said they made me feel guilty. Like I didn’t care about my 15-year-old cat that all I wanted to do was put her down. That is most definitely not the case, obviously!!!!!!They wanted to run tests on her to the tune of $1000. I really feel this was a money grab, they really didn’t care about my cat.I definitely didn’t want my pet going through what she was going through in her last days. After doing the test, they could only suspect that she had cancer.. Of course she did. I could tell and I’m not a vet. My cat had to be put down 2 months later. My cat had time suffering due to the lack of care, provided by Banfield. Fur baby moms and dad’s should not be made to feel guilty doing the right thing for their pet. The sad part is of course I wanted to believe she’d be OK. So it was an easy time to take financial advantage of me. I added a picture of my baby Kayla during her healthy time. She will be missed. So let me make a suggestion go someplace else. Go someplace where you will be heard and listened to. You can learn from my mistake!
Jan 05, 2024 · Deborah McCulloughI have been bringing my pet to the university location for years even when it was located in petsmart on ikea blvd. This location has become not organize and the website site takes they open at 7am but the girl just told me they cannot open the doors until 7 15am. I tried calling them at 7am on Monday March 17 2025 and the phones were not cut on until 9am. VERY VERY POOR SERVICE. This will be my pet last visit to this location.
